You can save 30% when you buy Orions: Legend of Wizards and Enslave together (combined price $27.93), one of the best games of the last year (Enslave) and definitely the best game of this year (so far), Orions. And here's my little Christmas offer for the community: I am selling a voucher for Flux Challenge (19.95 $) and SkyForce (9.95 $) that you can redeem at Clickgamer for both of the games. It's not changeable to other software (their C64 emulator seems to be really neat... pity), but you can get it for 50% rebate from me. So just send me the 15 bucks to my PayPal account and the games are yours!
I'm really pissed off, it seems that the concept "discount", "sale" or "lower price" doesn't enter the XPlay game makers' vocabulary. I've been waiting freaking ages to buy Spectral Souls or one of the big titles with a discount, and I've seen nothing like that. The only time I could get advantage of a sale was with Zenonia 2, which I bought for 1 USD.
The Xperia Play is a small market, they don't make all that much money off sales from this device as it is, so I doubt they'd be wanting to offer too much discount!
One thing to take into account is the price of the game against the length vs a console/pc game.
XP games typically cost no more than £3 (there are a few more obviously) but the game play is fairly similar to a consoles and the play time is around the same also.
Backstab - £3, play time ~20 hours. That's pretty good considering halo 2 was about 6 hrs on hard and cost £35 when new and still £20 when a bit older.
Take hot pursuit. Cost me £5, the console version cost me £35. This seems about right to me, play time on xp version was about 6/7 hrs and pc version around 20hrs.
When you think about dev time and return on the investment of making the game, the price we pay for xperia play games is very good and we are getting great value for money. The devs on the other hand are cutting it fine when you take into account how easy it is to copy/pirate a digital game compared to a console game.
Therefore to get a discount would be a great thing for us, but not so good for the devs, if we want the devs to keep making games we need to buy them at the price they are on the market for!
Backstab is such a great game that the Spanish version has no sound . Don't get me started on GameLift for it might get messy. It'll be a great day when those scum fold for good.
I just would appreciate some sort of sale. I'd be happy to buy Spectral Souls for 8 euro, but 12 euro seems scammy.
Gameloft offered all the games for $.99 each in the US/Canada, and before that £1 in the UK or €1 in Europe each a few times, as well as buy one get one free for £3 here a few times. I saw some games having introductory prices for xperia play at launch of the games as well but don't remember exatly which. I hope they will continue all of that in the future.
Depends on the developer. Gameloft has sales ALL the time, however I can't comment if they are worldwide. EA OTOH I almost never see a sale except last Christmas for like 2 days they had all games for $1 on the Android Market.
PSST..
Google that game
and donate the devs the money with the reduced 50/25% !
while i dont encourage you to do any of that, you caaan feel less guility about it >.>
As for why there are no discounts,Xperia Play exclusives are hard to sell =/ So obviously discounts would be quite rare.
I don't get where you're coming from, OP.
Gameloft had a 99c sale on EVERYTHING, and there's all kinds of price drops. Zenonia 2 was free on the Amazon Market (and IS free on GetJar), Guerrilla Bob was slashed in price to promote their new game, Terra Incognito was slashed in price a week after it came out, and there's quite a few Xperia PLAY games free on GetJar (Zenonia 2, Age of Zombies, Happy Vikings).
Google puts up several games on sale at up to 90% off for this weekend
Google has decided to put a pretty awesome game sale on for this weekend, with a pretty nice selection of titles being up to 90% off for a limited time. Between now and July 27th, 2015, you will have the ability to pick up any of the 22 games currently on sale, all of which are heavily discounted.
We pretty much had a feeling this would happen, which is why we did our preliminary rounds-up yesterday instead of today. We spotted some games available for $0.10 and when those appear it usually means Google is putting on a sale... and here we are with that sale starting today.
Games currently on sale at up to 90% off:
Ducktales: Remastered $0.99
Fotonica $0.89
Republique $0.99
Tetrobot and Co. $0.99
Tomb Raider $0.10
TheDark Knight Rises $0.60
Hitman GO $0.75
Age of Zombies $0.10
Marvel Pinball $0.49
The Amazing Spider-Ma 2 $0.99
Goat Simulator $0.99
Limbo $0.99
God of Light HD $0.99
Botanicula $0.99
NBA Jam $0.60
The Room 2 $0.69
Monument Valley $0.99
Valiant Hearts: The Great War $0.99
Unium $0.19
Game of Thrones $0.99
Almightree: The Last Dreamer $0.99
GTA: Chinatown Wars $0.99
Pretty much all of these games are good so you really can't go wrong with any of them. Some of them we mentioned in yesterday's round-up, so it may seem like there are repeats. Either way, this is a pretty awesome sale and a very good time to pick up any of these games that you've been wanting to get.

What you probably didn’t knowWhen Buffett was 11 years old; he purchased three shares of Cities Service Preferred with his sister.
Over the following months, the stock dropped from $38.25 to $27.
When the stock finally recovered to $40, Warren cashed out, netting a $5 profit. After selling, though, the stock continued to rise until it hit over $200 per share.
If had held on to the stock a little longer, he would have profited over $500.
What’s his secretWarren Buffett looks for companies that:
• Have high Predictability Rank, that is, companies that can consistently grow its revenue and earnings.
• Have competitive advantages. It can maintain or even expand its profit margin while growing its business.
• Incur little debt while growing the business.
• Are fair valued or under-valued.
