No Storage - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

Everybody talking about Big Storage, but is it possible to make a rom without the storage? Would it not mean more space for programs and more working memory? Using a spb backup for example in a scheduled mode, would save your precious data. Just wondering if and hoe it can be done.

[Q] Identify where programs installed to (i.e Main Storage or Storage Card)

Hi all,
sorry if this has been posted already. looked around on google etc but to no avail.
i seem to be always running low on Storage space for installed programs on the internal memory. plenty left on storage card which is fine for installing games and other apps.
however for screen mods and themes etc i.e BSB tweaks, CHT etc. I always install on the phone memory, which is now running very low.
ive tried removing all cabs no longer in use or used rarley and still have little memory, plenty of spare memory under program but not in storage (on main memory)
so im looking for an alternative to the standard 'remove programs' function which will identify what cabs are installed to the internal memory and what is installed to memory card.
or alternativly a way or transfering some of the internal program storage over to the main storage.
this will save me having to do a hard re set to restore all storage space and re install cabs again etc.
im running standard WWE 1.48.405.2 Vodafone ROM, Radio 2.05.51.05_2 on WM6.5, HD2, any help is much appreciated, thanks, Batez
use pocket mechanic to transfer applications (which phone mechanic is able to transfer) from main memory to the storage card. This app is not free though but works a treat. Not sure if there are any free apps out there which can do something similar.
Thanks Mate

whats taking up space?

Is there any app to see what is taking up space on the internal memory? FOr instance, I installed the latest YAHOO MESSENGER AND VIDEO PLUGIN on my EVO (from the marketplace). Both pieces are moved to the SD card YET it is still taking up a HUGE amount of space on the internal memory. I would like to know what is eating the memory (or should I say Storage space)
Thanks...
Titanium backup shows internal and sd card space plus its good to have for flashing roms
Sent from my overclocked Cyanogenmod htc evolution 4g sucka
Yes it does and I already have that program.. More what I am looking for is something like what I have on the PC that actually shows me in a bar graph of all the folders and how much space each one takes up and sorts them by what is taking up the largest amount of space.
Get DiskUsage from the market.

Low internal storage (surprise!)

So I've spent the past day re-searching all over these forums and on the internet trying to find a way to get past the low internal storage issue. From what I've read, I read that it is able to install your applications on your SD, which is what I do. However my internal storage still fills up somehow. So I assumed this is the application's data that cannot be moved from internal to SD.
However, further reading has brought me to partitioning and I tried installing several different ROMs on my Chacha, then using CWN Recovery I partitioned my SD which I thought would result in being able to move applications AND the data completely to the SD partition. However, using Link2SD or App2SD and even Darktremor, my internal memory still keeps filling up.
Am I doing something wrong? Or if all this fails, is there anyway to completely omit the use of the internal storage and run everything from my SD?
The fact I can only install like 6 applications is driving me up the wall. Thank you.
Use SuperOSR with Darktremor.
The only way of getting space back with the stock ROM is by resetting your phone to factory data. Otherwise, use CWM to clear the dalvik-cache when needed.
Hi there.
I found it very frustrating to run quickly out of storage as well.
Since a few weeks I use TitaniumBackup on this application rocks! It allows to move any application and its data to the SD. It even allows to integrate the updates into the ROM. The application is not free but cost only about 50HKD (abt 5EUR) and considering the great job it does it is more than worth it!
Hope this can help.

Really? Titanium Backup does that? Wow, fascinating.

[Q] What is using my internal memory?

I've made sure to use Link2SD and move a lot of my big apps to sdcard but I still only have like 35% free space in internal. If it isn't apps that are the problem, then what can it be? Is there any tool that can analyze what is taking up my internal space aside from the default storage part of Android?

Phone with stock rom always out of space...

Hi,
my friedn has a moto g with 8gb internal memory. He is on latest stock rom and only makes some photos at home from his family, childs and so on and uses whatsapp. Thats all.
But the phone is always out of free space, so he couldnĀ“t make new photos. I made a backup of all pictures to the computer and freed some space, but in short time the space is full again - and he is no power photographer. Only a few phots every now and then.
So i bought him a sd-card. But whatsapp photos still make his internal memory get full. Because with low free memory he couldnĀ“t install updates anymore (playstore updates from installed apps...)
So i used the android functionality to combine the internal and the sd card space to a big internal space. But in short time, the sd card got stuck and all data was gone...
So my idea was, thet i install a custom rom to get the whatsapp photos to the sd card (only photos, apps and so on still internal memory). I think, in this case the sd card will last longer...
Any ideas / tipps for me - maybe there is a better solution?
Or maybe only root stock rom and do that without installing a custom rom? What would you suggest me to do?
---> Only used apps: photo app and whatsapp ---> save photos/videao of all apps directly to sd-card, so that internal space will be free neough to install updates and so on.
you need to root to solve those problems.
remove unnecessary applications and and files, also integrate the updated application by using titanium backup.
