I am using the MostBeautiful ROM.
One function of previous ROMS I miss is the following:
In the past I just had to enter the first letters of a contact in the recipients-field of new mails, mms or text messages. A pull-down menu appeared and I just had to select the desired contact. The function pasted the mail adress/mobile number by itself.
Now, I have to search in the contacts by clicking on "To" or to enter the adress/number by myself.
Does anyone know, how to add the missed function?

my new XDA ZINC has the same problem... i cant seem to auto-complete the email addresses and sms numbers. this used to be a feature i had on an older xda phone.
please let me know if you found a solution.

That feature works in the newer WM6 roms. I know it works in mine (Crossbow Reloaded) and I seem to recall it worked in Xplore 1.1, Faria Vanilla, and NTS. I do remember it didn't work when I had MBE.
It works on my BE rom... only weird thing is that it shows both the Phone's Contacts and the SIM contacts even though I have the SIM contacts hidden... so I have doubles every time.
any thoughts on how i can get it working on my xda zinc?

I found that i had this problem after changing a certain registry key.
Try making the following reg entries
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/keyboard layout/Preload/default="e0010409"
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/keyboard layout/Preload/1/default="e0010409"
Then wait for 60seconds to make sure the reg is saved, then soft reset your WIzard. Worked for me.
They are already there ... !

however, a well know problem remain(with wm6 on wizard, S9100 qtek, is the same):
if I make a new mms and leave it in drafts, after is impossible to edit or open it; is only possible move it or delete it.

now with new cab installed there is mms1 and mms two folders. If i delete mms folder in registry then i am unable to see mms in messaging and cannot send or compose mms. i checked the mms folder in registry which has now same number of files as in the case of mms1.
Any solutions.
Also when one clicks on new mms it does not show the default template pictures.
haven't tried it (I don't have upgraded to wm6 yet) but I would like to thank midget for his hard work and attention toward who is using his own rom. Keek on the good job mate!

I don't know if it's a real solution but, if both account are handled by the same subsystem (I think so), here a patch that works for me:
Set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\MMS1\UserCannotCreate = 0
Then go to Messaging and you are now able to delete the account...

This doesn't seem to have worked for me.
I have the MMS1 entry now, and when I tap "Setup E-Mail Account" it just takes me to an inbox.
I installed the cab and then shut down the device and then restarted it. Did I do something wrong?
mms/new email account SOLVED.
None of the tweaks listed in this forum works. However I have solved this very near to perfection.
1. I opened registry editor and went to
HKLM/software/microsoft/inbox/svc/mms1
2. I copied all scripts and strings from mms1 folder to mms blank folder identically.
Thats it.
3. In messaging I see only mms listed.
4. You can easily make new email accounts.
5. Even if you click on camera, you will still be able to make new email
account.
6. Inspite of resets all remains as it is and nothing goes wrong.
MAKE SURE YOU SOFT RESET after few seconds.

Is somebody able to create a shortcut (.lnk) or a registry tweak which opens directly a new blank MMS on WM6 ?
That was not very diffictult on WM5 but I don't find the solution on WM6.

This works with WM5, but unfortunately with WM6, if rename the target from SMS to MMS, it opens only this :

Make sure you have the option unchecked to automatically open your Accounts list.

In my case, I change the Softkeys...
Create the following keys and Strings in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113
112 is the left key and 113 is the right.
Set Default to what you want the key to read (ie. SMS)
Default = SMS
Open = tmail.exe
Now for each key create a new string named Open and set the target path.
Turn off the phone, wait 20 sec. soft reset

I can create a shortcut for all programms, that is not a problem. Create a shortcut for SMS is not a problem. But a f...ing lnk for a new MMS is impossible.
I think that on WM6 MMS is a mail plug-in, not an application.
Any other idea ?
I wouldn't worry about it too much, apparently in the newest version of arcsoft MMS they seperated sms and mms again, so the old link should work again. Now I just have to find that thread again to see if someone put a cab file for it yet.

Sorry to raise your hopes only to dash them again. Apparently, so far at least, the only way to get this to work is to install it by cab to a ROM that was cooked without MMS. If you install it over the top of an already installed version or cook it in to the ROM MMS quits working all together. I'll let you know though if anyone figures out how to fix it.

I have installed WM6 and now, when I start typing recipient name in "To" field of text messages, I dont get suggestion for names.
I always have to click "To" and then search for name, and select the right number .
Any solution for this?

That's a known bug of Touch IX.
Have a look at the ProphetTouch IX thread, there you find a solution which includes a change in the registry to deactivate xT9.

I searched for this, but couldn't find any reference to this particular issue. I tried all the latest 6.1 ROMs and it looks like a WM thing.
All ROMs, have this new "FEATURE" which let's you view the SMS as a thread of messages instead of one at a time.
This is great, the only drawback is, that I can no longer move threads or indvidual SMSs to different folders; even the option to manage folders is dimmed (also the move option).
The only work-around that I have found, is to delete the message, go to the trash, and move it from there. However, there is still no way to create a new folder.
Any Ideas/Suggestions/Solutions for this issue ?
I too miss the split SMS/MMS. I wonder if it is possible for our favorite chef to put ArcSoft MMS 4.2.8.1 in his latest ROM and have it work properly?
This would make it possible to run Vito SMS-Chat and receive MMS properly. If Dutty's latest did run so damn good I would revert back for this reason alone.
I remember communicating with a very talented individual named Shogunmark. I'm SURE that this individual could separate the SMS and MMS. I don't think it was via XDA though. Seems I met him through another site.

In order to run Threaded SMS on WM6, you need to install a 3rd party program such as PalmSMS.
Is this possible? I'm new to Windows Mobile and I can't find any way of sending the same SMS message to more than one contact. I've done a search on the forum but haven't been able to find a solution frrom those old threads.
Any new and easy solutions you guys know of? Thanks!

The problem with I'm having using that app is that I can't sync my HTC Touch HD with Outlook, it just says "Outlook has not been configured". So I have no way of copying the contact from my phone to Outlook and hence am unable to create any groups in Outlook to sync back to my phone.
Help?
Hmm, Ok, I don't use Outlook so don't know how to help with that. May want to bring up those issues within the GroupSMS thread itself, see if others can help.
In WM6.1 the standard messaging client allows for SMS to a lot of people. Simply press the TO: button to add additional people. The format goes like this on mine when auto inserted from the contact list:
Xda Developers <8085551211>; Thresher <8083332222>; etc
When I am typing out multipl contacts in SMS i simply type the name, then hit enter, I then type another name, choose it and go from there.
It sounds like that is what you were asking but you got a lot of varied results. Perhaps groupsms is easier to use or something but I do not know. You only need what wm6.1 has to do multiple sms sending.
Is your Outlook (not Express) in fact setup and operational from your desktop?

I can't understand how it's not an easy thing for MS to implement, if I have a group set up called 'work', in the To: box, I put 'work' and it text's to everyone in the work group? Surely that wouldn't have been hard to implement?
