question: if microsoft is gearing windows mobile and pocket pc to be direct competition to blackberry in the category of business device(s), why then did they choose to discontinue money pocket pc support? what sense does that make? is there a microsoft financial software solution for the pocket pc? do they plan on putting out something?
it just seems like a backwards move for microsoft
I agree with you on this one. The last version of Money that Microsoft supported with their Pocket PC version was Money 2005 -- which is NOT supported on WM5. Go figure!!
I used Money 2002 along with the ppc client on my Dell Axim and it worked perfectly. Now, I have to depend on Spb Finance to do the same thing and sync with Money 2005.
I'm not real sure M$ had their thinking caps on with this one. Oh, Wait!! We're talking about Micro$oft here. . .

Hi there,
I used to use money 2004 will my XDA2. It wont work on my Dopod 900. Anyone else seen this problem ?
thanks, phig
Money works in my WM5 (in Charmer)
Sounds promising. You using Money 2004 or Money 2005?
Thanks. philg
I think it is 2006. I can't remember, but I think I downloaded from microsoft themselves. I find it to be a pain to use it.. and I don't have the desktop version to sync with.
Thanks for that. I find it useful to use pocket money in tandem with desktop money. After following your link it appears that none of the versions of pocket money will work with WM5. Groan.
"Supported Operating Systems: Windows Mobile 2002 software for Pocket PCs; Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs"
Thanks,
philg

Installed and works excellent. Though, it seems to be compatiable with Office 2003 formats, but not Office 2007. That seems a bit short sighted to me...
Still a nice find...
As Magician cant run WM5 or WM6. Almost all new Applications cannot run on Magician as they are not compatible with WM4. So any solutions to run the Applications on Magician? A patch or something that emulates WM5 API on WM4 and allows WM5/6 Applications to be Installed/Used. ?
yea! this way it good.
look this one
this gx.dll can use wm5 games on wm3
Here ya go WinMo lovers, a screen shot of the purported next generation Windows Mobile OS codenamed Crossbow, courtesy of MS Mobile News. Sure, it could just be a WinMo 5.0 theme for all we know but if this is the full Pocket PC homescreen above, then we can expect a glossier look, continued softkey support, and a smattering of oh so Vista icons when this, and the SmartPhone version are released in the first half of 2007. As we already heard from Microsoft, Crossbow will feature a new version of Office Communicator and "strong links with Office 2007 and Exchange 12." If all this still leaves you aching for the hotness of Photon, well, suck it up son 'cause that's not scheduled to hit until the first half of 2008.
I have nothing to say with this issue but maybe just a few threads that you may want to count on.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=452501 for a list of magician today + other software.
http://www.pointui.com for a good screen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444414&page=8 for a good today replacement that gives you really Vanilla 2D and Diamond skins for your today (but in Chinese). I have translated a skin with iphone - just look into the forum with keyword iphone2.
Of course, if you are running magician you might want to consider the tx203 rom, which is the best rom for me - some reported buggy but I have been running it for 1 year on my o2 mini without any problem.

Crossbow? are it's WM6.1????
Hello all,
With the flurry of Android and WinCE tablets that seem to have appeared, is it possible to install a WinMo image on these or is anyone working on a cheap tablet with WinMo installed?
Although the CE6 ones look ok it would be great to have a proper Office mobile installed rather than the Softmaker suite.
cheers
Try a smartq v5 or v7, no winmo, but it has android, ce, and some other form of linux and 1080p out. i know ownta.com has a Chinese ''tablet' with windows', but i don't know how reliable they are. honestly you're better off getting a real tablet PC with windows. you can get a hp tc1100 for cheap right now, and its a great tablet.
I saw about "Windows Tablets" news.
Microsoft announced the WP7 only used for cellphone, and windows tablets recommended for use windows 7.
Maybe ms consider windows mobile only a OS for smartphone...
"Chinese ''tablet' with windows'"is touchpad? It looks like a ipad...
As it sounds like WinMo maybe out of the question, can Cabs be installed/ported to CE6? Mainly trying to get Office mobile
htc shift
old and fat but good
i have a genuine MS system with office 2003. i flashed a rom to the blackstone, which included the mobile ms office 2010, and now i have a warning when i start my PC's office saying it is not genuine, (the phone synched with PC after the flash)
can this happen? any one else experience? or jsut a dodgy version loaded by the IT company brought PC from and only just popped up the warning?
Sounds like the Office on the PC isn't genuine and a windows update has sparked the messages up.
I could be wrong, but I don't think Office on your handset would tie into the PC enough to trigger those kind of events.
Or it could just be the OGA (office genuine advantage) throwing a wobbler and mis-reporting a non-genuine version - this did happen with Windows XP when they first rolled out WGA if I remember right.
