i think yes, because x1 has same cmos cam... as touch pro ! .) so we need hack x1 drivers ! .) pls do it someone
The hardware platform used in the XPERIA X1 is dependent on the region. The European / world variant - X1i - makes use of the Qualcomm MSM7200A chipset (made in 2007), while the American variant - X1a - will make use of the Qualcomm MSM7201A chipset (made in 2008). The MSM7201A chipset is theoretically speaking the successor of the MSM7200A chipset, although the differences are almost non-existent.
The reason for the different chipsets is said to be a Broadcom patent infringement by Qualcomm back in June 2007. The suit is said to have something to do with video compression in the MSM7200A chipsets. Because the lawsuit is about an American patent, the MSM7200A chipset is used in all non-American variants, and the newer MSM7201A chipset is only used in the American variants.
As you can probably imagine, the real difference in the chipsets is about video compression. The MSM7201A chipset limits video recordings to QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels) and up to 24 frames per second video, whereas the MSM7200A chipset supports VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) video recording at up to 30 frames per second.

Touch Pro has Qualcomm MSM7201A crapset, so I'm afraid we have to say bye bye VGA recording..

Did SE pay to get more features out of the Imageon?
I'm poking through the Xperia ROM right now, already posted some interesting programs from it in the raphael software forum. I'll look for this while i'm in there

Please do! I have a feeling that the xperia is making use of better developed drivers and basic software than its hardware twin touch pro.
Since youre already playing around with the x1, could u test something out for me? How is the video performance compared to the pro? How does the x1 perform in landscape compared to the pro? Any landscape tearing on the screen when panning really fast?
Afaik, the x1 uses almost the exact same hardware as the tp, but its supposedly can handle better video/camera performance. If this is true, an x1 touchpro hybrid rom would benefit the community.
Edit* Im sorry, you didnt say you had an x1, just the rom...
Wow VGA recording of 30fps at 480x640 would be amazing... is this possible?
i hoooope so
Da_G please keep us updated

Have you read the quote from my post?
The XPERIA USA version uses MSM7201A chipset and recording is limited to "QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels) and up to 24 frames per second video"
The XPERIA European version uses MSM7200A and recording is limited to "VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) at up to 30 frames per second".
MSM7200A != MSM7201A

I can check this for you tommorow. A friend of mine has X1 and i have the tp.
Even if limitation is in varying chipset version, it might just be a register bit flip is all thats needed.. see here for more info on that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=451646
Either way should know definitively the answer and why at some point soon
im so subscribing to this thread.
Got the Xperia camera running, crashes when you try to save an image (but the image does save to \My Documents\My Pictures\Camera\100XPRIA) and the interface doesn't work properly (seeing as its designed for 800x480)
I can prep a cab if anyone wants to mess with it.

I'm interested in this.
Along with the cab could you post all the other files you gathered and put them in a zip?
Sure, here ya go.
http://rapidshare.com/files/168413167/Xperia-Camera.rar
Tried to upload it here but it wouldn't take it.. both the .cab and OEM are in there.
so what quality will it capture at?? im hoping someone can tweak it and make it work nice with the pro
From Leo i´ts rumoured that will have a clamshell, 2 screens: one internal WVGA 480 x 800 aspect ratio 16:9, and one external QVGA. Will suport Open GL 2.0 and could have Qualcomm Snapdragon, same as Toshiba TG01
Anyone have more info about this new models?
Please delete if already posted

Yeah thats the resolution of the device
ok so a family member of mine has a ZenTouch2 and i need to find out some info on the kind of apps i can put on it.
my first priority is finding a recovery partition flash...so i can flash-install apps like, what brings me to the next item - gapps. there's 8GB of storage on it and here are the specs for the screen:
Screen Size: 3.2”
Display: 262k color TFT, Resistive Touch
Screen Resolution: 480 x 320 pixels
so is this mdpi or hdpi (i think i have those right)? where can i find a recovery? does anyone know the key press to get into the stock hboot/recovery? is the screen hvga or wvga or whatever? does anyone have info on this device to help?
Thanks.

Hi guys,
Can you please help me to port this ROM to Sensation? Its a great ROM. Very stable and fast.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153205
Thanks
First thing, did you get permission?
2nd thing, The cpu on incredible S is single core msm8255, while we have msm8260
3rd, the incredible s is WVGA (480x800 pixels) while we have qHD (960x540 pixels)
The differences are much too drastic for a good port. You'd have to use m10 tools to change the resolution of HTC sense, and a whole bunch of other things. It's not impossible, but highly improbable.
