Hi,
hab heute mein neues XDA neo bekommen, also ein Umtausch, weil beim alten der Lautspreche futsch ging, wegen WinAmp
So nun will ich das Teil mal richtig aufsetzen, d.h. dieses nervige O2 Rom usw. ruterhauen und was anständiges drauf tun.
Nun ist meine Frage:
-Welches Rom ist schön, schnell und brauchbar?
-Wie kann ich bei dem Rom selbst nur die Packete einzeln installieren die ich brauch
Quasi das dumme Telefon Paket von O2 nervt mich sowieso, schon allein der Hintergrund mit den "blubber Blasen" soll weg und was anständiges her und ich will halt auch nur Pakete(apps) drauf haben die ich benutzte

wär echt dankbar, wenn mir jemand ein ROM empfehlen würde und kurz ne erklärung wie genau das mit dem änderen der pakete des ROMs von statten geht.
ob ich 2 roms brauch, ext. und normales ROM oder ob das beides mit einer file geupdatet wird und ob ich radio-version technisch auch was updaten kann, danke

Bleib bei deinem original o2 ROM. So viel Müll ist da auch nicht drauf, wie man vermuten mag.
Die anderen ROMs die es hier gibt sind leider nicht schneller (was eher ein subjektives Gefühl ist anstatt ein objektives). Eine 200 Mhz CPU wird deinen Neo leider nicht schneller machen, auch ein anderes ROM wird kaum Geschwindigkeitsvorteile bringen.
Das geht nur, wenn man ein ROM komplett neu compiliert (von Quellcode durch Microsoft) speziell für deine CPU. Da dies aber nie der Fall sein wird werden die Treiber und die ganzen Routinen kaum schneller laufen.
Das einzige was geht ist, dass ein entsprechender neuer Patch von Microsoft (z.B. das AKU) rausgegeben wird, wo einiges in Sachen Geschwindigkeit getan wurde.
Leider wird dir keines dieser "gekochten" ROMs die du hier finden wirst, volle Funktionalität garaniteren können. Es ist nicht einmal sicher ob z.B. die Notnummern überhaupt korrekt abgelegt wurden usw.
Wenn du z.B. auf das PDAMobiz ROM zurückgreifen solltest, dann wirst du wesentlich mehr Müll bekommen, als z.b. ein original o2 ROM beinhaltet.
Well, if you want a 'safe upgrade' you can try the latest qtek rom which seems to have a few improvements (at least it made my device boot faster).
But it's in english but at least it doesn't come with the O2 stuff.
As Spatzm says using one of the homecooked roms might not give such a big improvement. The slowness of the device is indeed the slower 200mhz processor, so don't expect major improvements in that department.
But since you write this in german does that mean you want a german rom? There should be a german qtek 2.20 rom although I'm not sure that's up here for download (saw a question about it somewhere on the forum).
When you want to upgrade your device with the qtek rom then make sure you use the 'ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe' which you should find on the ftp site (you can find the ftp info in the wiki).
Upgrading with this rom should be relatively safe and is made by qtek so it's an official rom.

That is correct, well.. when you upgrade you cannot downgrade to put it down in short.
HTC is the manufacturer of the phone and they sell it to other companies who put their name and logo on it and then sell it to the end user. Such as O2 who put their branding and software on it etc.
But Qtek is also a company (which is actually the direct selling point of HTC) that sells the devices. And they also bring out updates for the device.
So *ahem* in short, Qtek is nor a provider nor a manufaturer but actually a company owned by HTC to sell their devices. hmmm.. so actually they kinda are the manufacturer
If you don't want to have all the extra stuff O2 automaticly installs then you can always do a hard-reset. At some point it will install the software automaticly and you can cancel that.
Another way is to install the qtek rom, and then you get the basic stuff qtek put in there But that all kinda depends on your personal preferences. Personally I like the qtek roms which are quite bare regarding programs that are automaticly installed. Then again my phone is from Qtek, so I don't know it any other way

... ausser das bei mir auch mit diesem build keine Umlaute geschrieben werden können auf der Hardware Tastatur! Habe auch dem Umweg übers original von HTC mitgelieferte ROM versucht, bei diesem kann man Umlaute schreiben, wenn man aber wieder das neuste Build installiert ist das wieder nicht mehr möglich!

i dont understand wich changes you mean, my work is based on the official WWE version, i think an official german version does not yet exist.
If you want to run iGo8 and HTC Home without problems you should take the WM 6 build i testet it with the reconstructed T-Mobile version. I dont know about a solution to fix this for the new builds.

I have problems with BT and WLAN. When I use a BT headset, WLAN disconnects and when WLAN is active, sound in headset crackles. I will try another radio.

Sollte man bestimmte cab Datein aus den oriinalen extended_rom nachinstallieren oder ist das nur nebensachen ?
Wenn was nachinstalliert werden muss wie mach ich das am besten
- cab Datein einfach installieren

- cab Datein in den extended_rom reinpacken und in die config.txt eintragen.
Ich hoffe jemand kann mir helfen weil ich soweit eigentlich alle Dienste von o2 nutzen möchte oder geht das auch alles ohne die sachen.

It works without CABs from the o2 ROM as well as with them! You don't need to install them!
If you want to use GPRS and/or MMS with o2, install this CAB!
If you want to install the right settings by hand, try this PDF (for GPRS) and this PDF (for MMS)!

Brauchst die CABs nicht, funktioniert auch alles ohne diese CABs! WWenn du GPRS nutzen willst, nimm die oben verlinkte CAB!

Vor dem Flashen bitte diesen Thread durchlesen!!!
Die geänderte Startseite (größere Icons) habe ich selbst gebastelt(Anleitung unten).
Alle zusätzlichen Tools (Widgets, Games und weitere Programme) sind in diesem Tools Package .
Der neue Internet-Explorer ist in WM 6.5 integriert. Viel freier Speicher.
Selten genutzte Programme, wie das InternetSharing (Nutzen des Herald als Modem für den PC) wurden nicht integriert, um die ROMs schlanker zu machen und mehr Speicher für wichtige Anwendungen zur Verfügung zu haben.
Eine ausführliche Anleitung gibts ein paar Zeilen weiter unten, ebenso ein paar weitere Downloads als Anhang. Neue Titanium.cpr als Download unten (12.10.09)
Eine Variante von Titanium, die jeder selber machen kann, in dem er die Werte der Titanium.cpr über den Texteditor ändert, ist oben zu sehen.
Wenn ihr einen Dialer im Diamond Stil haben wollt, ladet die angehängte Datei auf euren Herald herunter. Unter Start/ Einstellungen/Heute müsst ihr nach oder vor der Installation das Rock and Republik-Theme auswählen, danach neu starten.
Kurzanleitung zur Benutzung der Tools und zur besten Vorgehensweise des Einrichtens nach Update auf BUILD 23047:
Nach dem Flashen den Herald wie gewohnt starten, die Routine durchlaufen und dann per Active Sync verbinden. Das Gerät einrichten. Sollte WMDC abstürzen, einfach neu starten. Meist funktioniert es dann.
Die hier angehängte Datei Germany Setup herunterladen, ausführen und den Netz-Betreiber einstellen. Anschließend in Start/ Einstellungen/ Verbindungen bei Datenübertragung das Häkchen setzen, dass alle eingehenden Daten empfangen werden. Nun den E-Mail-Account einrichten, alle Konten nacheinander.
Jetzt aus den Tools den Total Commander installieren. Mit ihm kann man die nötigen Kopier-, Installations- und Suchaktionen ausführen. Achtung: beim neuen Rom hat er keine Beendigungstasten mehr. Man kann ihn aber über die Hardware-OK-Taste beenden. PHC Pim Backup sollte jeder auf seinem Gerät haben. Vor dem Flashen kann man damit seine Mails, Kontakte und Termine sichern und nach dem Einrichten des Gerätes wieder herstellen. Ebenfalls sdkcerts installieren. Empfehlen tue ich auch den Mortplayer, viel besser als Nitrogen und Mediaplayer, wegen seiner Effekte, Equalizer und der individuellen Anpassbarkeit. Weiterhin Showcase als Task Manager. Wenn ihr den Rechner installieren wollt, zuerst die Programmdatei, dann die Sprachdatei installieren. Alle anderen Tools solltet ihr bei diesem Build erst mal weglassen.
Zurück zu den Einstellungen/ Startseite und bei Elemente Windows-Standard deaktivieren.
Jetzt werden alle C-Dateien und das AT-Kontakt-Tool aus dem Ordner Plugins aufgespielt - auf die Speicherkarte kopieren, anklicken und - wichtig - im Standardverzeichnis installieren. Auf der Speicherkarte funktionieren die Tools nicht(allerdings würde ich COffice weglassen, wenn ihr meinen Today-Skin benutzen wollt). Dann auch die drei Titanium-Dateien installieren.
Den Pimp Ur Pocket PC-Dialer könnt ihr bei diesem Rom nicht gebrauchen, ebenso nicht den htc-diamond-commmanger. Flash Light ist schon im Rom und Mort Script ebenfalls im Wetter-Ordner.
Nach Installation des Wetters die Titanium.mscr mit dem Total Commander nach Programme/ Titanium Weather verschieben und die bestehende überschreiben. Jetzt laufen die Updates wieder. Den Wetter-Code bekommt ihr später von Accu-Weather. Ihr müsst für Deutschland im Menü DE eintragen, den Landescode bekommt ihr auf der Website - er steht am Schluss der Eingabezeile im Browser. Für Hessen z.B. GM007. Aber das erst, wenn alle Schritte vorher gelaufen sind.
Wer meinen Skin installieren will, muss mit dem CHome Editor alle überflüssigen Seiten aus dem Homescreen entfernen. (Add-Remove Panel/ Remove Panel)Das sind das Welcome-Center, CEMail, CMessage, CText, CMusic (es sei denn, ihr benutzt den Media-Player), CTestUI, Settings, CVoicemail, CPhone und CWindowsLive, CMyFavs, CHomeFavs und OriginalKeys.
Ist etwas mühsam, aber die Sachen werden durch die neuen Panels oder mangels Installation nicht mehr benötigt. Dann die letzten drei Seiten (page7-9) beim Titanium Weather löschen (Remove Page), denn der Radar und MSN funktionieren nicht, würden nur stören.
Nun die Titanium_240*320.cpr vom Ordner Skins/große Symbole hier auf der Seite im Anhang unten nach windows kopieren (oder die Variante mit den mittleren Symbolen, die ebenfalls unten angehängt ist) . Am besten vorher vom Original eine Kopie in Speicherkarte/ My Documents ablegen, falls es euch nicht gefallen sollte. Dann könnt ihr den Homescreen wiederherstellen.
Die Bilder aus dem Wetter-Ordner alle markieren (Strg und A im Total Commander) Kopieren (lange auf eine Datei tippen und dann über Baum auf Programme/Titanium Weather/ Spl gehen und dort die m.E. kitschigen Originalbilder überschreiben.
Den Telefonskin (Diamond) installieren und resetten. Wenn ihr den MortPlayer benutzt, die Touch_Black.mps in den Programmordner kopieren. Er kann nicht auf normalem Wege aktiviert werden, sondern im Menü über Einstellungen/ Benutzeroberfläche/ Skin. Auch zwei Zeilen darunter muss er als Standard Skin gesetzt werden (Zwischenspeichern). Die Datei DiamondMW_bleu.png in euren Bilderordner kopieren und als Hintergrundbild für den Heutebildschirm auswählen. Die CLauncher-PNGs nach Programme/ CLauncher kopieren.
Jetzt erst wieder über Start/ Einstellungen/ Startseite/ Elemente: Windows-Standard aktivieren. Nun müsst ihr nur noch eure Kontakte im Widget einpflegen, das CComm Panel aktivieren und die Programme im CLauncher eingeben. Und eure Klingeltöne einstellen und, und, und...wer oft flasht, hat das ja schon im Blut

For some german users it´s an accessibility to use a kitchen in another language, so this maybe a help. Also the additional files. Without your kitchen I had also no chance to create a rom. thx very much. Go on with your good work.

It's not possible to switch Soundprofiles.
You must install a seperate program like arcsoft mms. I thought, i integrated it into the rom. Here is a download link.

The problem with the profiles is new, i didn´t try it, because i flashed back to wm 6.1. But there are many free tools like this:

Great ROM. Seems to me as if it was a little bit faster as other 6.5-ROMS I tested so far...
Well, I tried different ArcsoftMMS Cabs... but they created always a SMS/MMS Folder in the Messaging Window. In the original Rom MMS had their own account. Also I can't create a MMS and can't configure the MMS sending options. Well, i won't travel with Deutsche Bahn for the next time so i don't need it. I disabled the WM 6.5 today screen and use the old one now. I miss the feature to click in the upper bar and see the APN i'm connected to and the network etc. Does someone know the cab for this feature...

I don't see why not. Isn't the XDA Terra a Herald or Atlas? (Make sure you have a SPL that's at least 4 or higher. And HardSPL.) OR to be safe, MAKE a GoldCard FIRST.

He's using my kitchen. As far as where to get packages, they're all over the place. In this forum, ppcgeeks, any other forum dedicated to ROMs, etc.
I wrote it in the posts before...it´s Ivan´s kitchen, i used always(SJK=SuperJustKitchen). The additional files are a collection of proved cabs, because not all, what you find in the web, is running stable on our herald. I changed nothing in the kitchen, only disabled some files, which i don´t really need the most time. So there´s more space left for other programs. You can also post questions behind the link in the german forum.
Ivan ? Apreichner: I am excited to read, that a tutorial will be soon released, so I have a chance, to use more of the tools in the kitchen. Hope, I understand all, and I will try to personalize the roms in a better way.

I installed this new rom you posted a few day ago.
but i think the JPL Dialer dosen't work well. the background of my phone is just black, but it isn't looking like on the pics you posted on xda-zone.
if i get a call, i have a nice looking screen, but the normal screen is just black.

how do i install the jpl dialer? i just started the cab file.
After installing the dialer you have to do a soft reset. And don´t install the commmanager after it. This can also produce errors. In some configurations i had the same problem too. It won´t work with wm 6.5 and it won´t work with all programs together.
For wm 6.1 i prefer the opal phone canvas dialer (but sometimes this hangs a little bit, before you can answer a call), for wm 6.5 the PimpUrPocketPC-Dialer (behind the new link in the 1st post in the tools folder).
Especially SPB Mobile Shell made problems with different dialers. After delting it, they run better.

wm6.5 is nice, but tomtom hasn't enough memory to run.

it's the same confusing thing!
After installing and a softreset it is one second in a windows AERO style but then it turns into something "just black" skin like the blue one.
do you got an idea? i just flashed the rom again to make it free of waste, but ...ya..
