Official WM6 straight from MS 10.0.15342.0

*NOTE for peace of mind can we please not post anything about unlocking and/or bashing other "cookers" as fun as it is.. for once lets TRY to keep at least 1 wm6 thread clean..please?!*
a little quick info on this rom.. this is apprently a build of wm6 made for the wizard. it was dumped from a phone that was updated by ms techs at a show.. its build date is from aug 06 now remember this is the newest official wizard build!
mfrazzz has been kind enough to post his "remake" of this rom without the devauth
* pulled out the wmudogfood & qa packages (dogfood phone home type packages)
* replaced oemoperators with faria's version
* compressed office 2003
* removed voice command
* added some packages and tweaks i did with crossbow reloaded (mms, alttab, total commander, faria's camera, pocket rar, smartskey, notepad, etc).

this is just os part- no radio, no splash, no extrom- just os.
what i discovered so far:
reported version 5.2.318 (build 15342.0.0)
the good:
about 46mb storage, 29mb ram available.
fast, very fast- at least while it's clean.
wi-fi driver tnetwln.dll is a module (not a file as in all other custom wm6s) with wpa2 support.
a2dp works ok- at least for me.
the bad:
no voip support (not sure how useful it is anyway).
commmanager supports just 7 buttons.
office old (not 2007).
don't see any oem stuff, i.e. htc camera, mms, java etc- just ms voice command.
so far it's running fine on my 8125.

little note; incase devauth wasnt fixed here is how you fix it yourself .. mfrazzz has apprently already fixed this but just incase one of you guys are cooking on a non-fixed dump
* go to OEM\OEMDrivers
* right click on a8686a75-290c-42db-9203-548c9cb17e08.rgu and select properties. uncheck the read only box and click ok
* open a8686a75-290c-42db-9203-548c9cb17e08.rgu with notepad (not some other tool, but use notepad unless you know what you are doing)
* find devauth and remove that key (look back on page 8 or so of this thread to see the exact key to remove from this file)
* do a file->save as (not a save) and change the file type to any files (instead of .txt) and then click ok. it will prompt you about overwriting the exisiting. say yes.
* right click on a8686a75-290c-42db-9203-548c9cb17e08.rgu and select properties. check the read only box and click ok
devauth is now off and you are ready to build and flash...

Thanks for setting this thread up. Didn't realize you had done that when I responded in the other thread... (man thats confusing)...
One point of clarification... Faria's ROM did NOT come from the dump we got in that other thread. Faria has had this rom himself for over a month (Dr. P has been running it for at least a month). My comments were that it appears to be from the same build, but his is definetly a ROM that he's taken apart and put back together in the Faria style.
So in short, it appears to have come from the same build (based on the numbers and dates in it) but its not from the same dump we got that the other thread is based around.

What does that mean? Care to elaborate? And which version of this rom are you running?

Hey mfrazzz, how should we see this rom? As your Reloaded 1.7.1 Beta 2 or as Reloaded 1.8? Or are you planning to do your fantastic work on this one and indeed name it Crossbow Reloaded 1.8. Untill then i'll stick with your Reloaded 1.5.

Followed tha instructions for devauth ... unfortunately no progress.. Still authentication failure message after flash.
Next thing i am going to try is to make an empty file, name it devAuth.exe and test it

This ROM can be used without extrom on G4 wizards, but you have to download whole ROM and then manually split os.nb from it. ExtROM is used only as a storage for CAB files.

jop, sorry, but this primary for czech users ....

I used upx 2.00w - perhaps the problem is that you can't upx dlls, only executables - and your office files have been maybe compressed yet

Great job Jimmy, I've tried so manny roms and this one is realy fast and stable.

be cautious in upx-ing - some programms "can" be packed on PC version(icon excluding etc...) without problems on ppc later...some can't be packed at all..
i.e. isilo can't be packed at all ,so it may be roulette with custom oem packs..too.

Sim Manager menu option in Contacts is blank.
Camera brightness doesn't work - it's a common problem with Camera 4.00 on Tornado.
This is OS only, it will not change your IPL, SPL, flash, or radio.

No, you only need to do that if your phone has the original WM5.
Since you're at WM6, all you need to do is flash my ROM.

It's very responsive. I think it's preety much the same as most of the recent WM6 roms.
Does anybody have a CAB file with Htc Quick Notes other than HTC Quick Notes by ericjm.CAB? It doesn't work with this rom.

I suggest you experiment a bit on the nk.nba extraction and packaging using dmp2pkg tool to sort them into SYS and OEM sections. That way you can extract about any rom you wish. All you have to do after that is copy the SYS and OEM into your kitchen. The XIP part from ThingsOnASpring will work with all WM6.x roms. As for RGUs, if they are not included you can always work on default.hv and user.hv directly and then export them out into individual rgus if you wnt to re-provision the current package that has missing rgu - a bit difficult but doable. Good luck

Its a standard vanilla green WM6.1 ROM. No need to place pictures.

Ram - Advantages Of Using
I tried to set up Ram as per instructions given in file readme.txt of Storage\RAMDISK and faced with dificulty of set up of following rule: "

May I have to get more detailed information on this point? Also, I would be most grateful for getting a reference where I could read about Ram for PPC in details. What are there advantages of installation of Ram on PPC? I have QTEK9000 64/128.

It won't run on elfin (on mine at least).
I tried with several RUU, including (at first attempt) with the one provided in the archive.
I think it has to deal with the version number which is set to 1.00.... Seyia, on win-mobile forum (french) had the same issue with flash for elfin, while his rom was flashing with no problem on elf.
If you could renew your rom with an other version number, it should do the trick
BTW, i'd really like to test this rom

You can run the Page Pool changer or device_info.bat applications to view or change the PP size (see my sig).

did you use the elfin friendly version?

hey, i just flashed my elf with this rom and everything works great. one problem i noticed was that when i press the volume button and click the volume icon it opens the battery settings and the signal icon opens the volume.. other than that its great!

that's the point I didn't use elfin friendly version but it work well,should it be a abnormal thing?
the only problem I encounter by now is when I slide tab to message, it can just display english character but other words like chinese are missing, any idea about it?

This is an amazing ROM! I have been taking a break from flashing new ROMs and glad I tried this. I haven't even loaded any other apps and may not. Great job!
So far I have not found anything I don't like - and that never happens! I prefer the PCM keyboard with my skin, but the one on this ROM is certainly acceptable and I will likely get used to it. The dialer is amazing. I have not seen that slide up and down to hide the commands before.
If there is anyone on the fence about trying this ROM - DO IT - DO IT NOW. I had no problems flashing using the ELFIN files on post one.

Yeah i know. I meant whats the mem status after the flash and after enabling TF2D.
