Well, I cannot see many differences between the 5.0 and 6.0. Even the 5.0 is now not working perfectly on every Hima devices, so I don't think it's neccessery to upgrade our devices to 6.0 (if there is). More, I don't think my device is still working until a 6.0 is out. But, if mine is still alive, why don't give it a try.

Hoping Buzz will hear our wishlist for WM6, He is one of the masters of Hima, unfortunately he has a new toy now.
we are waiting tofclock's new rom
he did say he is working on crossbow
we can wish him the best, and we must also thank god he still have our beloved hima
but i think there is a good possibility for hima
to have a working crossbow on it
cuz u know wht, the 1st device to have WM5 was uni,
and it's the 1st to have crossbow
but i think we might need to wait for quite some time,
we already have been waiting for over a month!
and no hint of any thing
but the users of crossbow are giving a good
feedback about it, stable and fast

(First post, done lots of reading though!)
I have an iMate JAM and really want an update for WM5.0.
Don't think there's any chance of an official one (B*****DS!!), but I'm sure you clever XDA ROM fanatic types can come up with a way to make one.
Is there a way to merge the drivers from the latest Magician ROM with the WM2005 Himalaya leaked OS? Surely the hardware can't be THAT different that big changes need to be made.
Taking it a step further, maybe updated files from the new PPC non-phone edition ROM updates could be incorporated to make it more stable.
I've been hunting through google and a few foreign pages seem to mention there being a leaked magician beta rom in the early days, can anyone confirm this?
I'll let someone who knows their stuff disprove me now!
If anyone HAS managed to get anywhere with cooking a ROM for WM5.0, let us know here

Why does no one reply to these types of posts?
If you look on the Himalayas forum, the people there managed to get WM2005 on their XDA II...how come we can't get it on our Magicians?

I saw some forum said that WM5.0 doesn't work on iMate-JAM (O2 mini Dopod 818), they said there are many function is abnormal, eg. the carmera, GPRS, etc.
May we need time waiting xda-developers can release a suitable WM5.0ROm for iMate JAM (O2 mini , Dopod) fans to upgrade.

Yeah, the fact that we Himalaya users are now using WM5.0 is thanks to somebody that stumbled with a XDA2 with WM5.0 preloaded and was kind enough to share it with us...
Of course there where some tweaking and modifications involved, but the thing is that there was an XDA2 with WM5.0 already installed.

Have you tried manual install of files on other ROM's? Does it work?
If it does work on other ROM's, creating the .cab should be a snap!

Havent tried it, but it should work....dont see any reason as to why it wont! Its just a today plugin and I've extracted all files related to it and the reg entries....
My current rom already has it installed, so it would be a pain for me to try it. If someone else could test it, that would be great!

Hmmm, might not work since I've tried Pawel's SnapVUE cab from HTC Athena & it didn't work. I think there's some file or registry entries built within the ROM!
Can't test at the moment either since I have SnapVUE running in mwang-DFT ROM.

The good old himalaya days m8!!! It was one of the best times really! Getting wm5 to work on the himalaya was such a cool thing....having had to format the DOC, partition it, merging the memory.....wow! That was one hell of a good time, and clearly the best gadget I've had in terms of fun and experience!

We were all Hima newbies that time. Some people just make impressions whether it was good or bad, but don't worry you're among the 'good' ones.
But hey, you may want to check the Athena Project SnapVue cab that I referred to as not working in our Uni probably because some files or reg entries were embedded during the build process. It should be similar to the one's we have since Pawel062 credited Chris of The Darkforces Team (DFT) as the original source, mwang is from DFT also! Download Here. (~5.1Mb).

Nahhh, can't find a shop that can do it in Manila. Btw, have you tried the HTC Manila interface? Possibly a Snapvue & a HTC Cube replacement & it's for VGA devices! Saw it in the Kaiser forum last night!

I'm sure San has 64Mb, he was the first one to complain of low mem on the WM6.1 ROM! But, hey he's cool coming out with a re-cooked WM6.1, 6Mb PP & with 10Mb Flash Disk!!! Not bad for a newbie!
It's a shame though that NNCuong has not made public his WM6.1 ROM with 22Mb Flash Disk. I hope mwang-DFT's coming release has Flash Disk too! He's got something special on his sleeve!
It sure is tempting to have these new QVGA devices like the Kaiser, lots of beautiful customizations & enhancements. But, the VGA plugins like SnapVue, PointUI & HTC Manila are coming out as well. No need to reply, I'm growing your horns ... errr posts.

I was working on this, but don't have time anymore. I am far too busy at work and home, to even develop Rom updates let alone finish patching VC.
Perhaps you should start a poll and see how many Uni users need/want VC.
Maybe if there is a large amount of users, I might be able to get some Devs to help with the remainig work.

While Developers ?are working on a VCall cab? (if anyone is please annunce that at this thread) just use WM5 new ROMs. Uni is way better then nokia's E90 with any ROM
Hi guy's its been a fun joy ride with you guy's here on the kaiser community since my cooking days. I have made quite a few roms some which was really appreciated by most of my supporters but I GOT MY HTC DIAMOND YESTERDAY and I have not been really motivated from recently to cook for kaiser as I think I have reach the maximun limit of testing and flashing with my kaiser. Also very disapointed with kaiser official WM6.1 which I think its just a joke, so I have gone back to a old rom which I'm still using on my kaise APR 29th NON-CUBE.
Just want to say thanks for everyione who have supported and contributed to my hard work and apologise if sometimes I dont get to reply to emails earlier , Its just that I have been really busy with work and looking for a new work and its a busy time for me. I'm not really good at words but just want to say thanks to all the devs, and peeps on this great site.
My last diamond rom had couple of bugs which i did fix but my great vista machine decided not to start one day and had to re-flash vista so all that work was gone, so i apologise again for not continuing that diamond build.

No promises, but we will do our best to finish off the work we started on Video Call, it was us that brought outgoing VC to the WM6 Unis, and we were very close to finishing incoming VC work too.
We will try our best to finish this off in our final release.

Yes, but we need to start from scratch.
Base must be a shipped Uni rom because of device drivers I think.
Build number we can take any. Also XIP is a easy port.
So many new tools and applications are Developed meanwhile.
But... I have some kitchen experience, a lot more then when I started with Uni.
It would be great to work with you again, I'm looking forward.
And let's hope we can make videocall work this time in wm6.1!

Are you new?? oh yes I see, please try to READ the threads on Universal forum, that way you´ll notice that our dear friends have a long time in other devices forum. And they are not cooking for us....
And VC, they had not promised at all.
I think we should be happy with the fact they are going to develop a final ROM, however this is I´m sure it will be great!, let´s not start asking for more and more stuff!
