please help me... my xda mini all of sudden switchs off... please can someone help me..
Have you charged your battery? How old is your device? Most probably your battery is defective.
tricky battery cap
I found that the xda goes off, if the cap of the batterie opens even slightly (less than a millimeter)...
ive had this happen when you install something that the PPC doesnt like, a broken program etc.
on a few occasions SBP pocket plus saved me by starting in safe mode so i can uninstall a few things.

The battery cover has a tab that pushes the lever of the microswitch in the bottom right side (when device is face down).

If the battery is dead it will not take any charge!
You have to replace the battery, it should work fine after that!
Ok thank you.
Where would i find a new battery for it.

Ok thank you for your help
I had a little water ingress recently and my TP started vibrating and rebooting. I managed to dry it out and get it charged and it seems to work okay. Only problem is the rear light is on permanently. This will drain the battery in no time.
Any ideas how I can turn it off ?
Thanks in advance,
DBo.
Please help...
No one ?
I noticed that the light is coming on as soon as the battery is put into the handset. It doesn't even need to be switched on!
Thanks, DBo.

Its definitely shorted. Does going into Camera and trying ot turn it off work?
Have you tried an aftermarket "flashlight" program to mess with the settings?
Thanks
Thanks.
Yes, I've tried turning it on and off in Camera mode. No joy.
I may have to try and find an after market flash control. Any pointers ?
Cheers, DBo.
No luck so far...
Ozzy's Actions screen (whilst an excellent piece of software in itself) didn't solve my problem.
Sorted itself
Very strange, but I took my handset abroad with me and at some point it must have completely dried out as it is now working properly again and the battery life is back to normal (i.e. poor but not abysmal).
Cheers, DBo.
Hi,
first, i tried finding a solution in your forum, and couldn't find anything helpful.
My G3 shuts down by itself once or twice a day. I can start it up when pushing the "start" button. its like a normal start up.
First i thought it had something to do with being outside, maybe the cold, but just today it happend while it was inside laying on the table. I never really saw it happen, but i think that it occures when the screen is off, its not happening while using.
I tried flashing it with kyrillos, but it still occured. (i have a cpu app, so that shouldn't be the problem)
Does anybody have an idea what might cause this?
I can't risk not getting woken up by the alarm clock because its happened again!
Thanks

Is it an immediate shut down without an message showing that its shutting down? If it is then mayb you can fold a piece of small paper and put it in between your battery and battery cover as your battery may be loose.

Thanks for your answer!
I never saw a message. It always happens when the screen is off, the screen just stays off, but i cant geht it on. then i have to restart it.
I tried putting paper in between but i can't say that it helped.

Is your battery older?
Check it if it's bend even a slight...
This may cause immediate shut downs
You know how to check it!!?!
If this is true, go for a new one...
sounds like a SOD issue, which ROM are using? Also what are your cpu settings?
Hi guys!
Well after trying and trying I didn't find any solution about the random reboots. So I thought I go back to the begin.. So I used a RUU install was flawless, but after an hour or so my phone reboots again and 30 minutes ago too.
So please can anybody help me?
Thanks!
Sounds like a detective phone. Mine never reboots unless I reboot it.

The first thing I'd check is the battery. Is it physically loose in the housing?
Doesn't have to be very loose. All it needs to do is break contact with the copper pins for a half a second and the device will shut off.
Here's the other question. When you say it reboots, do you mean it shuts down through the normal "Phone is now shutting down" process? Or does it like go instantly off and then reboots?
If it's instantly off and then reboots, the battery thing is the mostly likely problem.

Yes, thanks!
I've removed my backcase and touched the battery and it shuts off (i have not a really reboot, it just shut off)
But wht can I do about it?
Thanks
EDIT:
I've put a little piece of paper between the battery and the cover so the battery is pushed harder to the connectors.
It's looks and feels alot harder to get it out now. I hope this will work.
I will try this now and will give you more info tomorrow ;-)

Glad I could help.
The lesson to be learned here is to always check the stupidest thing first, before you spend hours changing ROMs or looking for rogue apps.
You need to be sure you're fixing the looseness properly though. If the wiggle is side to side or up and down in the battery housing, the paper trick along side of the battery should work perfectly.
If it's wiggling forward as though it's trying to fall out of the housing, the paper trick works but you want to be careful not to pile 3-4 sheets thick of paper on top of the battery. That's just going to act as thermal insulation and will help the battery retain heat (not a good thing).
It won't catch the paper on fire. But it'll wear the battery out faster.
Instead you might try to put something that gives the battery more pressure against the back cover in a small area. Maybe try those little foam sticker circles that are on the bottom of things to keep them from scratching the table. (look under a lamp or something that like). They are thing pieces of felt that aren't real thick, but prevent a heavy metal object from sitting directly on a table.
A small one of those would stick right to the inside cover of the phone, put pressure on the battery, and not cover a large portion of the battery that would retain heat.

You can try to change your battery, maybe this is the problem.
guys my phone started having that ODD TOuchscreen insensitivity problem which was posted here in some previous threads
and like all of them it started for me This rainy season, after 2 years of using without any problem
the problem as you know...
is the touch remains functional for like 2-3 seconds after unlcking...that too if you havent used for a while
after which it becomes barely unusable as the touch becomes unresponsive..
its like the options key and the back key are being pressed,
pressing the home botton will end up being the screen getting captured
there was a solution of heating up the phone using a hairdryer etc..havent tried...
the option of getting the screen replaced...but for some even after getting the screen replaced
the condition right now is such that even pluggin into charger aint helping
