Hey I am looking for a good ebook reader. Basically I have tons of ebooks in txt format (from projekt gutenberg) and some pdf ones. Right now I am using a purchased version of Repligo to convert it and view it on my pda, the viewer is really really nice... now I want to switch to an macbook and wanted to ask the comunity if there's a better way like an comfortable txt viewer? I'm aware of XPDF for PDF files which is nice but kind of not that comfortable to read books
THX in advance

uBook was a very good I used to use, but I just convert the txt or html files into Microsoft LIT format now and use their reader.
Not sure if uBook is still free though.

Folks, I have a number of ebooks with the file extension .LIT which can normally be read by using MS Reader.
Just wondering can any other program read .lit files or does anyone know if there is an auto-scroll feature?
I use this - http://www.convertlit.com/ to convert from ms reader then use mobipocket maker to convert to mobipocket format ( the pro version has a scroll facility)
Thanks, I'll give it a go.
Hi all.
Ive been looking around, but I cant seem to find any good ebookreader to my vox.
The integrated adobe reader - lite, sucs for reading pdf files, as it cant rearrange the text, and word isnt any real alternative.
Do you know any god ones, and what formats does it take, freeware etc?
Greetings.
Haven't really tried any of these, but these 2 came with the ROM I use:
Microsoft LIT Reader
CHM ebook Reader 2.5
For PDF files no Windows Smartphone reader is perfect, but this included in Documents To Go is the best among them. It is the only one that word wraps the PDF text, so you can read the book without scrolling around.
Unfortunately, there is no PDF reader that can reflow your document like Adobe Acrobat Reader for Pocket PC, but the Word Wrap mode of Documents To Go PDF Reader is pretty close.
For non-technical literature i advised AlReader 2 (freeware)
This programm works with TXT, HTML, RTF, DOC, FB2, PDB/PRC (PalmDOC, zTXT mode 1), TCR
PDF is unsupported
And what about MobiPocketReader ?
AlReader 2.
I simply cant find it in an english version. You have one?
Is moby pocket reader good?
Thanks for your replys.

You have to try yourself.
It's free, with PC/PPC/SP client with few format convertion.
Yes, Alreader2 is the best reader ever, with the russian menus even. ;-)
With a reader like this for the iPhone, maybe I let my Vox at home.
A new solution for ebooks on smartphone....giv it a try!
hi there....i suffered from this kind of problem....i had over 3000 ebooks in .lit format....my idea is this. use isilo v4.36 for smartphone....if u are really interested i'll put it up here.....
there is a freeware called amberlit .lit converter available. my advice is, do a batch conversion of .lit files, then use isilo on ur mobile. mine too is a htc s710....my novels are great/ pm me....i hav the full working version.
try and njoy!
Hey guys,
I used to use a program called RepliGo that would convert my PDF into there own format that was less memory intensive as Adobe Reader for PPC. The thing I liked about it was that it allowed you to
1) Do reflow where you look at PDF as if there were in notepad (i.e no graphics)
2) Text Search
3) Speed (Never an hour glass while switching pages)
Is there any other program that is better then Adobe Reader of PPC to read PDF or even convert to its own format first?
Have you tried Mobipocket? It will convert pdf to its own format which allows you to reformat the text.
I would use Repligo for viewing files with lots of pictures and diagrams interspersed in the text, Mobipocket if you just have a solid chunk of text like an ebook, and Foxit if you just want to read the occasional pdf without any conversion.
I'm looking to find a good ereader program for the x10. I used to use the x1 with allreader, which I loved. All my books are various formats, and I don't know of any on the marketplace that cover a wide variety of formats... any suggestions?
what format do you want to open?? :-? x1 have windows mobile.
I'm using RTF, ODT, DOC, TXT, LIT, and epub
ereader app
Give Aldiko a try.
Isn't that only for epub files?
e reader
Hi
I use ireader which is nice and mature now - lots of options and formats supported - i find best results however by converting the files to ".txt"

I second this. By far the best ebook reader available for Android.
Not sure if it only works with epub, but I use Calibre e-Book Management on my PC to manage my ebooks anyway, and can convert pretty much any format to epub within it.
what ebook format should I get to be able to work with the S-pen (Kindle , epub , pdf ) ?
Anybody know where can I get pdf ebook ?
I would always lean toward epub, I haven't investigated drm ebooks on here yet, but all the ebooks I have I convert to epub to read with fbreader (on both android for all tablet phone and book reader)
edit;
my book reader isn't android, but does have fbreader.
I use calibre on win and Linux PC's to convert formats
I use epub instead of pdf as it is easier to reflow text for various screen sizes and screen rotate

Calibre cannot translate the Snotes .snb format and i haven't found anything that can. It is an obscure format. I wonder why Samsung used it other than to force people to have their devices to read it.

If you want an ebook to use with the S-Pen I suggest you go for PDF format. As far as I know there are no ebook readers (Apps) that allow marking up epub or mobi files. If you use pdf there are several apps that allow for marking up pdf files with the pen,

Ez pdf reader will open pdf files and when you select the pen at the top it will ask you if you want to copy the file for making annotations and then on that copy you can write what you want with the s pen. BTW the copy will show up in the library shelf when you open Ez pdf reader.
