Trying to become a member now

I can confirm that WM6.1 has been released to beta testers and is expected to be released in the next 4 months and yes the kaiser is one of the phones that will get the update first. Now all we need to do is find someone that will upload the ROM. I have a feeling we will be seeing it very soon

I see alot of references of xda-developers

lol u guys are looking at a beta build of 6.1 that will expire after about 30 days and will need to be patched to not expire.

read my previous post. even if this build is released unless u know where to patch and how then it will expire and will be unusable.

My friend read the wiki,if not they are going to eat you..The best place to start is WIKI.

and, yes - read GWENI - it all becomes clear in less than a day of reading.

At least read, then its ok to ask questions to confirm what you have read or if you are confused about anything. However, make sure you search before you ask as well so nobody stomps on you.

Why ask when the answer is posted all throughout this very forum? You will have your answer far faster if you use the search, wiki, or even the stickies. Every forum has at least one or more of these features.
I will be nice and save you the search this time.
1. You must flash to a 6.1 ROM as there is no "upgrade" or patch available. There are many posted in this forum that you can choose from. And please do not ask which is best as everyone has their own opinion. I have tried many before sticking to my current one.
2. An update to Office and threaded SMS was added to 6.1. If you do not use Office or don't care for threaded SMS, then 6.0 will be fine for you.

Got my Palm Treo 500v days ago, with Chinese Rom flashed in it, which I really hate a lot.
I dumped the chinese rom out in a nb0 format sized 74.0 MB (77,594,624 bytes), and some friend dumped a Palm Treo 500v english rom for me, and i've been trying to flash the english rom into mine.
Follows the problem: How Should I Start All This?
I tried to press down+power, and succeeded in entering BL mode, top of the screen says:EBOOT Ver:V4.0.0 ExtROM:ENG(capture see below)

I tried the tool usbloader, get some pics
using "usbloader GalaxyII.nb0", seems everything goes on well, but nothing happens
been waiting for 45min, still nothing, so I unplug the usb cable, get this message

You need to find a forum dealing with Palm systems, not HTC Universal or HTC overall.

yo man, I know it's a wrong-place-thread but I've solve your problems. But I didn't update the rom, I just restore a backup file of an English-rom-palm 500v in to a Chinese-rom-palm 500v. I used Spb backup and restore in normal mode. After the phone was restored with english backup file, it's display english, everywhere, everything.
But there's one problems. The default sms and mail application didnt work. Your phone still can receive mail, sms but you cant open them, and compose new or reply. So I installed threader6standard, a freeware you can google, then I can compose, send Sms as usually. I havent tried any mail application yet but I think it's ok.

Anyway try to do a search here and maybe asking again

The rom is a recook by PDAVIET. Downloaded and installed it this morning. Fast, clean, BIG storage after initial boot. On the way to work now, no time to post screen shots.

To ghekua: this is just an awesome recooked ROM posted on PDAVIET.net ( just check it out guys good pda website great value ). I flashed it on my PDA and there's only one word to say: amazing. Keep on cooking ghekua, then u'll be a great chef

Its not a WM7,its a recooked wm6,there's no official release of wm7 as yet.

hi iv been trolling through here looking for a good black wm 6.1, i have found a couple but they dont seem to work at all or the links are dead, does anyone know of a good link and rom that im looking for, i know how to flash and have flashed my shadow multiple times but now i have the tmo wing and want to customize it, ok any good links are much appreciated

thanks for the link, i hadnt seen that one before i just used the site search engine too look, although alot of the links are still dead and or broken, will keep looking for black wm 6.1 theme, with a link that works

how do i know what i have SPL, IPL or hardspl, that might help me, iv flashed several but none are what i wanted, im using opetouch 6.1 now and have changed to black theme, but the weather icon i dont like i wanted the colored icons of the sun or even moon, and the weather to work, it says my weather is 7 degrees 24 hrs a day lol, so if anyone can post direct links to a specified rom thread that has pics that would be great, here is a post of what im looking for, or something close to it, but i dont kniw if it will run on my phone anyone who can tell me please post
