has anyone sorted how to get the notes field from a calendar entry to sync ?
I'm having a similar problem where my task notes are not sync'ing. I think this is a bug, since it used to sync with my Tmobile SDA, but not with my DASH.
I have the same problem after upgrading to WM6 on my Samsung i600...
Did you solved it in the meantime and help me with it?
Thanks a lot,
Roel
My calendar notes sync fine with my WM6 Dash -- it also worked with WM5 prior to the upgrade. Currently using Vista with Outlook 2007, previously it was working also with XP and Outlook XP.
Do you have the most recent version of Activesync? Could that be related?
Hi Chaznet,
I have Vista and Outlook 2007. Before upgrading my i600 to WM6 it worked fine. I did the ROM-upgrade a week ago, but just found it out yesterday.
I can make notes attached to a task on my device, it will sync and end up in Outlook on my PC. But just adding one letter to it or something will keep the note on the PC side but after syncing it is gone on my smartphone.
I have WMDC 6.0.6783, I also tried WMDC 6.1 but this will end up in an error on WMDC that I have to delete the current sync-connection and make a new one. I tried to reinstall WMDC back and forth between 6.0 and 6.1 and deleting the sync relation on my device so it was blank (no contacts, tasks, agenda at all present on the device). The only thing it remembers is my device name I gave it on my PC, so maybe I have to manually delete that somewhere.
So if you have a sollution or a place to look. It will be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Sorry, never had a problem with it so never had to troubleshoot. Maybe you can find a forum somewhere specific to your device -- possibly it's related to a i600 (whatever that is)...

Hi Chaznet,
It's the Samsung i600 similar to the BlackJack but with Wifi. It is on the European market.
thanks for your answer but if someone else has an answer... This will be great.
notes sync fine with me. i am using:
- tmobile dash w/ iu russian wm6 beta rom
- activesync 4.5
- outlook 2003
You should look for a Samsung forum -- might be something to do with that device. I do seem to recall an earlier version of ActiveSync having this issue, but I really don't remember -- glad it's not something I'm having a problem with, sorry to hear you are...

Hi,
I just updated to ROM1.60c and ActiveSync 4.1 build 4807. When I try to sync, Activesync keeps giving me the error code 85010014.
The funny thing is, there's no problem syncing Notes from Outlook. But the other Outlook items such as Contacts, Calendar and Tasks are unable to sync.
What's happening? Does anyone else have the same problem? Why Notes is ok, but not the rest?
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Had the same problem after upgrading to WM5. If you use offline folders, make sure Outlook is connected to your Exchange Server, they try to sync your PDA. It takes a little while to sync Contacts and Calendar the first time, but afterwards you can "Work Offline" and sync everything successfully.
If it doesn't work, I would start with a new partnership.... delete previous computer partnerships from AS on your PDA and also delete PDA Partnership in AS on your PC.
There's also a few other posts here that refer to performing a "Repair" of the Outlook 2003 installation and another that says to uninstall and re-install Office 2003 all together. I tried the "Repair" (in Help Menu of Outlook) and it didn't work... I wasn't about to re-install my Office.... Luckily I found my solution through further digging on the Internet.
Good luck! Let us know the results.

Hi kcchen,
It works! What happened was that I had installed AS 4.1 at home over the weekend. On Monday I came to office, sync and suddenly it works! Never knew that it was becoz of Exchange...
Thanks for the great help. Next, to solve the problem with insufficient ROM...too much for programs, not enough for storage.
Thanks again buddy
Glad it worked for you! I was pretty frustrated with the error also...
where do you get ActiveSync 4.1
mine is ActiveSync 4.00.4343
can you give me the link for ActiveSync 4.1
thx
search goes a long way

I solved my ActiveSync problem with Error 85010014.
I also run Eudora and Incredimail Plugin for Outlook on both PCs, Work and Home. Both are on XP Pro SP2 and when I installed ActiveSync 4.1 on my work PC without issue, I decided to attack my Home PC Outlook installation to see if I could resolve the issue.
So, At home:
Putting Outlook in Offline mode did not solve the problem.
I uninstalled ActiveSync 4.0 and installed ActiveSync 4.1 - No difference.
I backed up Outlook via 3rd party program to grab account settings as well as my 2GB pst file then ran Help->Detect and Repair... - reboot, no difference.
I then ran Control Panel -> Add or remove Programs -> Office 2003 and chose to modify my installation by adding or removing components. I unchecked Outlook and updated it to remove Outlook from my Office 2003 suite. Then returned to this option and re-checked Outlook to add it back to my Office 2003 Suite, CD-Rom in hand but updating, it did not ask for the Office 2003 Install CD-Rom... - Rebooted and connected - Bingo NO 85010014 error!
hi guys, just a quick and simple question.....
in windows vista, if i sync up and sync all contacts, where does it store this info, in xp it saved these contacts to my outlook, but on vista, alli have is windows mail and there are no contacts in there, i cannot seem to find them anywhere and need to know this works before loosing all my contacts with an upgrade.
i actually posted this somewhere else, i think it was the wrong forum, so added another here...
This forum is mainly for running Windows Mobile 6 on the HTC Universal.
However, here is how I understand it: If you don't run Outlook on your Vista machine, you can't sync your contacts or calendar... and that is REALLY stupid since Vista HAS a Calendar built-in!
For contacts, check in the 'Contacts' folder under your Username (click Start -> (username) and then Contacts. If it's not there, I don't know where it goes. I bought Outlook.
checked that, windows mail, no contacts, windows contacts, no joy, i even had a copy of microsoft office 2007 running the other day and still didnt work.
has anyone got any contacts synced up with vista??
I used to have Vista running with Office 2007 and it synced ok to Office, but after a couple of syncs it stopped recognising the device. After a lot of playing around, I came to the conclusion that Vista sucks the proverbial ass and is not really ready for release yet, so I downgraded again to XP.
My flatmate has stuck with Vista and is having the same problems on his Wizard. I do think it's a problem with Vista more than WMDC or the phone. Vista's 'Security' features render it pretty unstable at accepting communication with most devices as nearly no drivers are at WHQL level yet, even the inbuilt M$ drivers. (That's purely my own opinion, thousands disagree with me!).
Sorry I can't be more help.

no worries fella, any information is good, i must admit vista has its good points, but fails on many needed values, especially when connecting devices with there own software.
unfortunatly, i had no choice in the matter of getting vista, my old laptop died and i couldnt get hold of a new one fast enough that still had xp installed. i didnt even get a backup copy of vista to downgrade then upgrade at a later date. oh well.
i heard about people using a virtual machine to run RUU for upgrading devices, i might give this a go... its a pain in the arse, but i really dont want to loose all my contacts....
My Universal seems to be syncing with Office 2k7 just fine. I haven't tried in a couple of days, but I'll give it a shot tonight just to make sure everything is working okay. I'm even running as a non-administrator.
Once you have Office installed you just need to make sure that the boxes are checked in mobile device manager. Have you installed the device manager update? (links towards the bottom of the page). That might help a bit.
i was running Vista since it RTMed and i have had no problems syncing Universal with WMDC, even when it was in Beta stage. Now with fully updated WMDC and Office 2007 Pro i cant see any better partnership for my device. everything syncs just perfectly. And i will never go back to Active Sync or XP for that matter. Vista, Office2007, WMDC are soooooooo much better.
I AM LOVING IT....
its all sorted now, thanks for your help guys.
i just reinstalled office 07 and repaired device as a new device, ticked contacts and it worked.
woohoo
Syncing with Wondows Calendar/Contacts
Right, I've got Vista on my new laptop but have no intention in acuiring Outlook 2007 for it (at the moment I'm running Office Home and Student 2007 - no Outlook any more, just Onenote, don't get me wrong I love Onenote!) I was just planning on using Windows Live Desktop Mail and Windows Contacts on my laptop as I have a desktop running the full Office Auite. However, I would like my hpone to be able to sync contacts and calendar onto my laptop.
Does anyone know of a 3rd party app which allows for WMDC to sync with the built in Calendar and Contacts within Vista?
Currently my Desktop in running Office 2003 and Active Sync 4.1 on a XP Home SP2 OS.
My laptop is running Office 2007 and WMDC on Vista Home Premium.
My phone is a T-Mobile Vario II running WM5. I'd love to upgrade to WM6 but I'm a bit worried to use a home brew as I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to switching. I just wish T-Mobile would support the Vario II the same as the have done the Dash!
Any suggestions for keeping all my contacts and calendar up to date across all three devices?
Hi guys !
I have :
- wm6 rom
- qtek9100
- Windows Vista Business
- Outlook 2007
No way to sync with my computer. Everything works fine but the contact/mail/calendar. I can browse my phone, sync photos, music and even Microsoft OneNote data.
WMDC simply says that Outlook has not been installed while I'm being using it everyday and even while I was trying to sync.
I heared somewhere that I had to install Outlook before WMDC, which I did, but no success.
Can you guys help me please, this thing is driving me nuts !
Looks like i'm the only one facing this problem, am I ?
I taught about something today. I have groupwise that is running on the same computer. Do you guys think that might be related ?
Thanks.
I am a new convert to an HTC Hermes - very impressed with the forum and the help available. I have decided to stay with WM5 for the moment, but have flashed HardSPL. I have synced with Outlook using Activesync 4.5 with XP and everything looks good.
On Monday I installed Windows 7, on a separate hard drive, installed Office 2003 and then WMDC. I connected the Hermes, and drivers were automatically installed. Everything looks fine, with WMDC saying connected and a sync took place. But there the happy story ends....
WMDC says a sync has taken place, but the contents of my Hermes has not made it to Outlook. I have scoured this forum and the web, and it is clear that some people are very frustrated with WMDC, but other folks have no problems.
Can anyone point me at a guide or similar which can help me diagnose the problem?
I am considering installing XP Mode and running Activesync 4.5 from there and am happy to report back progress on that.
For those who may have been interested in this thread, I managed to crack the problem today. Took lots of Google searching, some of it looking for the correct question to ask . There are a lot of very upset people out there .
One bi-product of being able to sync was that I managed to move all my contact and calendar data from Outlook 2003 on XP to Outlook 2003 on Windows 7. Much better than playing with .pst files .
And? any references to how you did it?
Hi Bellandbottle,
Could you please enlighten us too, on how you solved the problem, or where to find the solution? That would be more helpful than just knowing you solved the problem!! TIA!
Hi everybody,
My Windows Mobile Device Center no longer detects Outlook...
I have a HTC Diamond with Eto.Y rom installed. My operating system is Windows 7 with Office 2010 installed (x86 version).
The weirdest part is that yesterday everything was working fine, but today the wmdc is not detecting outlook. The options to sync the calendar and contacts are disabled and it shows a message saying "Outlook has not been installed".
I've searched the web already, although I wasn't able to solve my problem...
->I've already uninstalled office and wmdc, and installed it back again.
->I've already run "fixmapi.exe"
->I've run SCANPST in the outlook folder
->Redone the partnerships
And still, no luck...
I would deeply appreciate some new ideas in order to fix my problem.
I've been all day searching and trying different solutions. Thanks in advance!
I'm sure I've read about this before, it's that WMDC is just not compatible with Outlook 2010.

From what I extensively read, it doesn't work when Office 2010 version is x64.
It was working before and it's already working now! I've solved my problem by creating a new profile...
Somehow the old profile got corrupted.
Thanks anyway!
