Dear brother,
could you recommend me how to open CID unlock for dopod 818 pro?.
I had search at XDAwiki but there isn't have literature for G4 Type.
Do me a favor for this problem?
Thanks in advanced.
From all the information that I could gather here is that you can not CID unlock the G4 type of Prophet yet.
Yup, cannot CID unlock the G4 yet.
Although there is a website that offers a service to CID unlock the G4. Guess it's only a matter of time till it's possible for free too. But how long that takes noone knows
But yesterday,
i saw thread in pdamobiz forum that mention can be upgrade or downgrade dopod without unlock the CID..is it possible?
I am not the expert here, but u can upgrade with the NoVendorID.exe Tool without CID unlock? u cant? i was sure u can...
also i saw a thread one said u can use the aWizard Tool to unlock, but i am not sure he was right, he said he did, but dont know i can belive u can use an old Wizard Tool for a new Prophet...
hope it will help ..

Again, you can not CID (country ID) unlock the G4 with software as of now.
The other questions of yours have already been answered in other threads of this forum, please use search and consult them first. New threads only make it harder for new people searching for the right threads that already contain the correct answers.
Nonetheless you can update your G4 with new ROM versions the Novendor ID version is one of these ROMs.
But you seem to have hard times reading whats written on these forums anyways, so it would be better for your to stay off of ROM updating if you do not want to brick your phone.
You need to read a lot of stuff (including searching) to understand what you should do.
The people who offer self cooked ROMs have quite a lot of technical experience and understanding what they do and they do it for quite some time now. You ca not simply take stuff from all kind of places pull it in your ROM and happily flash it. There is some sort of brain usage required to do this

Question, after ive unlocked the CID using the method described in the Wiki and I then upgrade to my devices Official ROM (JAMin) does it remain CID unlocked or do I need to go through the process again before upgrading to another rom?
Thanks
Once it is CID unlocked it will stay CID unlocked forever! Relax.
Is there any way to unlock CID keeping the original ROM, without a previous downgrade ?
Thanks

YES, thanks! Exactly what I meant!
(as you can see from my signature, I do have a G3 rom)
But I asked "how to dump original ROM"...
Wiki pages have a huge deadlock, IMHO:
Prophet_Rom_Dump: CID-unlocked device needed
Prophet_CID_Unlock: ROM changed (downgraded) for CID unlocking only
Don't you agree it's quite confusing, and unuseful ???
Thanks for any further info.

You took the point.
I have the same doubts.
If someone could fix the wiki-page or share a solution could help a lot of users.
Thanks in advance.

You can't "fix" the wiki pages as it is correct what it said there.
however, I think there is a util that dumps the ROM from windows windows.
I'll see if I can find it again (its somewhere on the other forums on xda)
Hi Jesterz,
Did you find any solution for your bricked G3??

You don't need to be a technician to do it. Just need how to read.....
Just follow this step by step guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361039
It worked for me the first try...
Everything workes, TyTnII is unlocked, the problem I had was the Bootloader update, The SPL Updater V7 didnt work, (to get it to *.olipof)
After posting this SPL issue, Guif gave me a link right SPL updater, and now everything worksw.
Thank for the help, and I WILL donate to keep this possible!!!

Hi,
I'm and AT&T Tilt User and wanted to update my ROM for the first time. My question is, if I am planning on updating to an AT&T ROM (Dutty's or Alex's), do I still need to unlock the CID or is that only required for non AT&T ROMs?
Thanks in advance!
Read all stickies and wikis. Hard SPL before doing anything

nah bro, you're good.
follow this yellow brick road:

and then this one:

The two answers above contradict each other...
I did read the sticky first, but it wasn't fully clear:
"1: CID-unlock your device by following the instructions at pof's HTC Kaiser Hard-SPL v1 - CID Unlock & Flash any ROM to your device (4 free)-thread
This needs to be done to flash a ROM to your device which is not created from your provider (or HTC if you own a device with HTC branding)...."
Now, the 2 responses I received above also contradict each other, so now I'm still unclear.
Yes - you MUST flash HardSPL before flashing any ROMs for the Tilt/Kaiser/TYTN II. The quote you talked about means - if AT&T released a ROM upgrade, you wouldn't have to have HardSPL to utilize it. Any other ROMs (cooked, stock HTC, etc.) require HardSPL to be flashed first.
Follow the instructions in this stickie. The others linked above are only if you should have problems. Make sure you've read the wiki and all the stickies before you start flashing. Good luck.

Thank you
That clarifies things! I appreciate it.
Hi There,
Since i'm curious about the G1 phone, I bought one. it's a dutch Tmobile locked with firmware 1.1
Question, can i unlock the thing and/or can i root/jailbreak the device??
I tried with some guides, found here, but until now no luck.
Cheers
If you had used the search you would have found out for yourself that the answer is that we have to wait, I actually have the same problem. There is an exploit that might be a way to get root access, see this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482721, but for now we're stuck with what we have.
If you want more information then search for 123099 (the build number) on these forums or just on Google, there's a lot of information you can gather that way.
I did search, both on google and here. I'm not from yesterday
Since the g1 is my second device (main device is and will be the iP.... ;D)
But wanted to be sure about it.
Btw, thnx for you reply anyway!
Hi all,
I'm wondering how I can check if my HTC Touch Pro is unlocked for installing custom roms. I bought it without a carrier with no simlock.
Don't know if that matters?
Hope that someone can tell me how to check this...
Thanks

If you did not buy it from a carrier, then it should be SIM unlocked, which means you can install anyone's SIM card and the device should work. NOTE - use of a SIM card implies you have a GSM-based Raphael. There are also CDMA Raphael's out there (for North American carriers) which don't use a SIM card.
In either case, if the device is unlocked, then you can go ahead and install any of the Raphael ROMS being developed in the Raphael ROM forum. Be careful, if you have a CDMA Raphael, go to the CDMA forum.
Security Unlocked is something else, and this is only required if you want to flash the RADIO from another device, such as the Blackstone or Quartz models. This, you have to get done by someone else. There is a sticky thread in the Raphael ROM forum where you can get more information.
Personally, I just stick with SIM unlock, since the Raphael-based radios are working just fine for me.
you should probably put hard spl on there just in case to be safe
Ok thanks than I am going to install a custom rom tonight.
Hope it works!
You need to flash hard spl before doing anything.
Oke, does any one know where this is explained?
So just a short explanation about what to do in what order to install custom roms etc...
Thanks a lot already!
Uh, try the noob flashing thread and the hard spl thread in the rom forum, and the flashing thread at fuzemobility.
