Currently I use my Ericsson phone to dial modem numbers from my laptop via bluetooth and Terminal software. I am struggling to do the same with the XDA. The only services I seem to get prompted from my XDA (through Bluetooth Service Selection) is Activesync, SSA, OBEX and Voice gateway.
Anyone used their lovely XDA2 for remote TTY access?
My Ericsson Phone has a Serial Port ICON in My Bluetooth Places. All I do then is right click and select Connect. And I can dial away on my PC.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Sorted it.
Was being a little silly. The application I was using would not support the COMS port I was using for the Bluetooth Modem.
So all is now happy.
Has anyone managed to get activesync over bluetooth working ok? When I get the laptop to find the phone it says the only service available is dial up networking, and therefore doesn't allow me to connect to activesync?
I've got an XDA IQ
Thanks
Graham
Have you synced to the laptop using USB first?
I want put my vox into out-call mode for phone calls while it's availabe.

Is there a program out there that simulates a 56k modem on a Windows Mobile device so that I can connect to the internet using my dialup ISP credentials? If not, how hard would it be to make one? Any other ways to get dial up working on Windows Mobile? I do not have a data plan and would like Internet on my phone.
problem is that gsm devices can't connect to an old analog isp modem connection
back before gprs
the phone company's sold special gsm internet connections so phones which supported it
could be used as modems my old motorola 930 supported that but those
gsm data internet subscriptions were expensive both for having and using
hmm would there be a round about way to do it? like dial a traditional phone from your cell phone witch inturn dials dialup internet. i have wanted something like this before too.
My phone is Verizon (CDMA), not GSM. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Yes, that is what I am looking for. The problem is not the phone, it's that there is no modem in a WM phone. This is what I am looking for; A little program that sort of emulates a physical 56k modem.
when connected to activesync or PAN your phone will have the same network connection as your pc unless you have blocked it
so you can get internet that way
but there is no way that a program can make it possible for you to put in your nomal analog modem connections phone nr and settings and connect that way
programs run inside the operating system and access the network by using the gsm phone module so a program can bypass the gsm system
I am using TP Link modem (TD W8151N).
I am using bridge connection(DSL). By using it I can dial up manually from my pc where I have to put username and password.
Its actually a PPPoE connection.( I lives in INDIA and I am using a BSNL connection)
The reason why I am not setting PPPoE directly from modem because to stop unwanted automatic downloads because when you put PPPoE setting in the modem then it will automatically connects to the internet.
I can connect my device to the modem and it gets successfully connected but it there is no option to dial up from my device.(web pages and other application wont show data that requires internet).
Is there any way so that I can dial up from my phone and established a connection?
