Please tell me your useful tools - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

Hello,
i have installed LvsW Edition: RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721 (AKU2.3) - for G3 & G4.
this is the best i can do for my phone.
but on another cooked rom there were a lot of useful tools installed. for example a task manager or battery tools.
can someone do a list of all USEFUL tools that are available? i need a good task manager, a good wifi scanner, a good battery tool that shows battery on taskbar. and perhaps a tool that can do custom shortcuts on the today-screen to any program i coose. any other useful tools are welcome...
and another question: is it possible to put all tomtom files from the SD root directory to the Program Files directory?
docmax

I think you can better look for yourself. Because "usefull" tools for you might not be usefull for me. And the other way around.
Don't believe that a list thread like this will live very long.

Tools needed to compile and build your nk.nbf file

Suggestions:
I would suggest unzipping the kitchen first, which you'll have a couple files and a folder called flashing and one called tools.
In this location, add the OS folders SYS and ROM.
Also in this location, add the folder called OEM.
Known Issues:
5.2.1413:
Flash Player not working in PIE. No solution identified / not included
X-Button 1.5 causes theme / today screen issues. I don't recommend you install the X-Button 1.5 cab until a fix is found
A2DP is still a ??
5.2.318:
Compression issue resolved! See this example: Load Post
Disclaimers:
This is a compilation of different packages and OS builds from this forum. I take no credit for providing the components. All I'm doing is putting it together for others to use.
If it doesn't do what you think it should, ensure you understand what it is you're trying to do first - and the path that is required.
If you don't know what to do with a nk.nbf file, or the difference between a guid and a ruu, you might want to do some homework before jumping in head first.

In the OEM folder "Standard Reg Tweaks" are some of what he had. Here's the .rgu file from Faria's setup which has the registry settings. If you need the entire folder, you can download it from the sticky.

Easiest way is to just copy the entire folder 'x-faria settings' into your OEM folder. As long as there's no opxtions.xml file in it, it'll be included in the build.

i get it, ok give me the easiest way to import a reg file to my own build please
i have it exactly like x-faria settings file (notepad can open it)
for example if i copy all the registries from mine and paste theme on the same x-faria settings file will it work??
for more clear (just example)
if i have these registries:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System]
"ModelID"="WIZA200"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0]
"SpecialDomains"="lp. rg."
i want to integrate them, just copy them inside any reg file (for example x-faria one)
i hope its clear for you
Hi Matt!
After I cooked and flashed a rom made with your great kitchen my phone won't boot correctly. It doesn't show me the configuration (align) screen. There's only the Taskbar and the welcomehead screen.
I had this problem everytime is used a RK.
Any suggestions?
P.S.: You did a very good job!

Did You include teh FWUPDATE package?
THis wil solve the problem
great job - mem free specs?
does this base have the same free-mem specs as your 1.03 pandora base? might you be willing to include them on the 1st post?
also, outside of trial and error...is there an easy way to estimate how many OEM packages you can include without hitting the max rom space? it would be sweet if as one checked off the tick boxes in BuildOS that it automatically determined the amount of free rom space available...or if we knew exactly how much each OEM package used individually once installed ( not sure if it's the same number I see before the flash ).
anyway, great job pulling all the parts&pieces together and I really appreciate everyone's time!!!!!

Thanks I had already found it but thanks anyway...
My nk.nbf has gotten more than 120MB so I believe I did something what I should not have done with nb2nbf.exe.
Should I follow exactly Faria s guide ( filling out IPL Radio, Splash etc with those numbers even though the package contains no stuff like that )
Thanks
Thank you very much ivanwinkel.
WORKS GREAT!
Nice its release I'll rehost it to my ftp for you guys too.
You're welcome Mr. Vi

Post your suggestions for next ROM release...

NO NEED FOR MORE DISCUSSION. THE NEW ROM IS RELEASED!!!
I plan to release a new English ROM. It will be based on the latest ROM improvements by vjgrace. There are many good ideas for implementing in the next release, but they are scattered into different threads. So, I've decided to create a new thread to gather them all here and make it easier for me to implement them.
Please keep your suggestions reasonable. I can implement only registry tweaks/fixes and add/replace/remove software/files. I do not have the source code of WM6.
You can also post your favorite registry tweaks and I'll see if I can add them to the Control Panel.
Looking forward to your suggestions.
Do NOT suggest something already implemented in vjgrace's latest ROM.
This will NOT be a vanilla ROM!!!

PIM Backup v2.8
SRS WOW XT
FEADIE (File Extension Association for Download in IE) v1.0
Dopod SIM Manager 1.4.36.365
Latest GSM radio and SPL update will be provided separately - no need to risk SPL update failure (download here)
I have one little suggestion: could you please add tweak for thin scrollbars?
Apps: maybe Schedy Mobile? Its realy fast and useful task and alarm manager I think it's much better than Oxios Alarms
Ok, can we change the device ID from TORN100 into dopod577w? Or perhaps create an option in the settings to tweak the device ID? I'm not talking about the ID that is keyed in when using nb_nbf tool. Cause I tried that and it doesn't work. I'm talking about the ID which shows up when you access the phoen registry with MobileRegistryEditor from your pc, u would see the id TORN100. Cause if that works, probably Cyberion Voice Commander would work as well, it is bundled with Dopod 577w installation pack which will only work for device with the id dopod577w
This should not be considered warez, because its not hacked or whatever, I paid for the phone which includes this software. It's very useful, hold the left soft key and you can utter alot of commands, such as Read SMS or voice digit dialling
PLZ integrate connective tools sleepwell for flightmode switching
http://www.connectivetools.com/sleepwell.html
I would like a version for spv c600 without WIFI stuff if possible
No applications, yes tweaks
Please, don't include more aplications, only tweaks. I'd prefer a vanila edition, buy if it's not possible don't add so much applications.
Thansk
Dude, read first post. VANILLA ROM IS NOT POSSIBLE. because even if you remove the apps, you won't save the storage.
@karhoe:
Do you know which registry key sets the device ID? And the software you provide, may be helpfull, but it's too big (1.1MB).
@b0gdi:
WiFi stuff is less than 0.5MB. There's no significant gain in removing it!
Well one thing that have not yet done I think is to integrate a O2 MENU like that are highly costumizable for us to have a well organize menu and to give our WM5 phone a unique and a different look...what can you say about htis guys
This wold be nice to include : http://www.jgui.net/black/vistaspinterface/index.html
History of changes:
Version 2.0.
more new clock styles
incl. Predator time, what you should understand to survive ;-)
new weather icons (like in Yahoo!Widgets)
program launcher runs
more fixes for portrait screens
fixes for some newest devices
fixes for traybar and some others images
Ability to disable t9 and T9 input methods
DUN profile enabled
AAC codec installed
AAC and WMP files associated with WMPlayer by default
Screen Rotation app
Ability to change comm manager colors to match color scheme
registry change to hear callers in dual-mono on stereo headsets (works correctly on some builds, broken on this build for my Motorola S9s)
SAP (SIM Access Profile) for MS bluetooth stack
smartamazing, O2 Menu unfortunately is for QQVGA and not for QVGA resolution.
dadme, Vista Interface is a really cool proggy, but not everyone uses it (including me).
Let's keep the software list short with useful applications, such as necessary system tools or utilities. They must not be more than 200Kb in size. GUIs are something completely subjective and anyone should install its favourite one.

t9 can be disabled at the input box. Why should I add this option to the Control Panel? DUN profile is already included. Screen Rotation application is still under development. CommManager color scheme is hard-coded; cannot be changed on-the-fly!
What's the SAP for MS BT Stack?
Attach the AAC codec here and provide me the necessary registry tweaks that you mention above, and I'll implement them.

Well, we just have to set the device ID, and tweak the cab so that it can install into storage card . I have no idea, searched the entire registry that was dumped for torn100 but can't seem to find at all
Oh, and perhaps we should include Vox display driver straight away, so we can easily embed screen rotation in the future
Bad news about the device ID. It seems that it's hard-coded in the kernel. The only "TORN100" string I've found in the entire ROM dump is in nk.exe!!!
I think there are some issues with the Vox display driver, concerning screen refresh...
Could it be the reason why my screen hangs each time it is locked?
Hi!
I'd prefer too clean ROM with only tweaks and without apps. Just my suggestion...I understand that isn´t goot for all. Is possible release two ROMs?First clean and second with apps?
My suggestions
Latest ROM by vjgrace is very GOOD, but is possible take base from latest Sharks ROM?Is good latest Sharks ROM?Did anybody test it?
Additions/fixes/tweaks and New settings in Control Panel just well
Startup/shutdown animation and sound by NG is very nice, but please with shut off sounds
New software
Please just absolutely required apps! for example apps like in vjgrace ROM and less...without CLOCK ON TOP...
suggested apps:
1. is usseeles by me...
2.yes!
3.why not
4.i don´t now...
5.yes!
6.yes!
7.is usseles by me...its freeware and don´t use everyone so this program can everyone install alone so far as need it
O2 Menu and Vista Interface please no. Maybe more codecs...
Thanks!
While everyone wants a clean ROM, unfortunately its not possible because even if you removed the apps, it doesnt mean you gained anything.
Btw, why is this so? Something to do with the make_imfgs while cooking the ROM?
Karhoe
I Know i read your text and I don´t want absolutely clean ROM I want just with absolutely required apps vjgrace ROM is in this direction good!I just wanted say that thinks like O2 Menu or Vista Interface is absolutely useless and for example i prefer more codecs, ulilits like contacs menu for sending visiting card via msg, Acrobar reader LE, All reader...xbar not Top on Clock...

VJGrace's ROM, my ROM, EA's ROM are all based on Shark's ROM!!! His latest update had nothing to do with the core. Only some tweaks/fixes (already implemented in my/vjgrace's ROM) and some more applications.

We must fill the ROM will a specific amount of "bytes" for having the maximum internal space available. So, I'll try to include the most "popular" useful small utilities.
Please, no more talking about vanilla versions or removing applications/utilities. Just suggest your favorite tweaks/fixes (please attach any necessary files) and your favorite small utilities/system tools. I'll include as many software I can, without dropping under 20MB (or at least 19.5MB) of available internal storage.
I'll try to be objective on fulfilling your software wish list.

USB HDD Application for WM6

Hi guys,
Just got my shiney new O2 Stellar today (HTC Kaiser) and have been pretty disappointed with the amount of applications stripped from the WM6 build I had for my Universal (by JWrightmcps - what a champion ROM builder!). However, I've managed to find a few of the applications missing such as the Task Manager & HTC Home screen and have installed them without issue. One application I can't find though which was really useful is the USB HDD application which turned the device into a mass storage device generically recognisable and useable without installing ActiveSync or any additional drivers (on Win2K machines or above). Does anyone know where I can get a CAB or EXE of this application from as it's really useful.
Thanks in advance
Hey man,
I think you're looking for "WM5torage" by Igor V. Bozkho. MoDaCo has it available for download, and it's currently at v1.75. I use this program as well, and it's an absolute crucial utility to have (I'd say!).
Grab it here:
MoDaCo » Downloads » Smartphone Freeware » Utilities - Phone Management » WM5torage
Hope this is the one you were looking for!
Not the one i was thinking of,but even better!
Hey scar45,
thanks very much for getting back to me so fast; the knowledgebase in this community is enormous and I knew that if someone here didn't know what I was on about,it didn't exist!
Thanks very much tho pal, I look forward to using it

WM6.1 add-on cabs - Teixeirabmb Collection (Last update 12th September)

Basically this is an adaptation from my latest device (HTC Universal) cab collection thread. I didn't had the time to test most of this cabs on Raphael and don't expect all these cabs/exes work on it, but since they both are VGA devices running WM6.1, most apps will work.
Many discuss what should be included in each ROM.
My prefence goes to Vanilla ROMs and install some functions and apps through cabs afterwords or ExtROM.
This Thread is meant to compile a cab collection to install in our (future) WM6 Raphael vanilla ROMs. I'm counting with you to add more and keep them updated.

User Customization is a config.txt file that's located on an SD card which can install cab & xml files located there too! Think about it: this gives anyone who loads your rom the ability to automatically install their preferred apps/settings as part of customization. Here's how to make your next ROM UC compliant:
Cook the attached SDAutoRun.exe into \windows
Replace the "RST: Reset" line in config.txt with "EXEC: \windows\SDAutoRun.exe"

This is just a first draft and there will be updates soon.
The ideia is to have a updated list and that's difficult if I had an all in one file!

Sorry but I just didn't have the time to update this thread
pocketCM VGA theme
Would you have VGA theme for PocketCM contact ?
I hope I'm not ressurecting a dead thread but I was curious about some programs that let you underclock (is that the right word?) your CPU. Would be useful for battery saving in case you are not using the TP excessively.
I can see a utility for overclocking so I thought I will ask if someone has already used it and whether it can be also used for underclocking? Or perhaps some other utility?
Thanks.
HTC Audio cab
Can I request for this? I do not ued the TF3D hence the Audio portion is unavailable from the Program folder
Does anyone know where I can get the weather database program. I flashed my phone back to Stock Rom because of a lot of issues with keyboard and screen qwerty. I really would like to have my city show up on weather tab. Thank you.
WOW, it's really useful link!
Thanks for sharing!

What Apps Do You Rate?

Hey My CDMA Compadre's... i was just wondering if u cud spare 5mins of your time and let me know the TOP 5 apps that you must have on ur Winmo 6.5...
(Please leave out the standard like twitter, google maps and Facebook).. the other utilities that are a must have!!!
Please list.. as this is designed to help others know what to download....
Sort of a tough question the way you've put it out there: Top 5 apps... but not Social networking and navigation stuff? Just basic no frills must-have utilities, then?
-A better file Explorer/registry editor (I use Resco's Explorer/Registry Editor)
-A useful memory tool (MemMaid or CleanRAM)
-Some type of backup program (I use SPB BAckup, in conjunction with Microsoft's MyPhone utility)
-A better task manager (Fdc Soft Task Manager v3.1)
-A better do-it-all media player (I recommend CorePlayer)
Just the basic must haves IMO.
S2U2
Sprite Backup
Resco Explorer
IM+
Trapster (alerts you to red light cameras and speed traps)
other must-haves for me that probably dont apply to anyone else:
Vito AstroNavigator (skymapping software)
GeoScout (Geocaching, fun hobby)
Resco Explorer 2010 (have nice new features such as Task manager)
Resco Photo Manager 7 (the best photo manager & viewer)
Inesoft Cash Organizer 8 (managing money has never been so good)
IM+ 7.7.1
Garmin mobile 5
Magical 2.2.4 (blacklist ur unwanted call & sms)
Sktools
Skschema
SPB Wireless Monitor
SBSH Calendar Touch
Opera Mobile
Fingerkeyboard
JWMD Icon changer
Google Maps
Track Me
TreNotes
Merriam Websters Unabridged Third New International Dictionary
Oxford Dictionary of English
Olive Tree bible reader & bibles
S2U2
Daynotez

I could be totally missing some features on Resco's new Task Manager, but it appears to me to be only slightly more useful than the one running in WM 6.5/Sence 2.1.
Hardly compares to Fdc Soft's Task Manager which can control running processes, services, start up management and much, much more.
Resco Explorer
CorePlayer
SPB Radio
Resco Bubbles
and you just gotta have hdWobble

I use FDC stuff too. But for practical reason & nice GUI, I use Resco 2010 task manager. Resco 2010 task manager is different from previous version which on 2010, u could assign resco task manager to hard key. Check it out on resco website
