Success! Using bluetooth MFB with Voice Speed Dial - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

Hi everyone, I've tested this fix for the last couple of days, so I think it should work okay. This fix is specifically for using Voice Speed Dial with bluetooth wireless stereo (A2DP) via the bluetooth multi-function button.
Warning: If you are not familiar/comfortable with editing the registry, please do not try this!
It look some digging, but essentially the problem is that VSD fails because A2DP will not give audio gateway control back to the hands-free profile. What it needs to do is temporarily close the AG before VSD activates.
To do this, you need to install two programs:
1) vijay555's Volubilis
2) MortScript
Once installed, copy autorun.exe from \Program Files\MortScript to another folder (won't work from MortScript folder) and rename it to something else (I used voicedial.exe). Then create a text file (i.e. MortScript) with the same name, with the extension .mscr (e.g. voicedial.mscr).
Put these two lines in the script file:
RunWait "\Program Files\vijay555\VJVolubilis\VJVolubilis.exe", "-agoff"
Run \Windows\sddialer.exe
I don't know how to use MortScript very well, so you experts out there can go wild.
Then go into the registry and change/add:
HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand, Path = <location of renamed autorun.exe> (e.g. \Program Files\Tools\voicedial.exe)
Soft reset, and it's ready!
Note: This will not work Cyberon Voice Commander or Microsoft Voice Command because the Prophet (and I think the other OMAP based HTC PPCs) are hard-coded to look for sddialer.exe in OEMAGW.dll.
Renaming an app to sddialer.exe or changing BTAGExtModule to point to another DLL doesn't seem to work. Hope a guru can fix this, but at least SVD works now.
P.S. Would an expert be kind enough to make a CAB with the VSD files for those with ROMs that don't include VSD.
P.P.S. Thanks to vijay555 and Mirko for making this fix possible!
Enjoy!

Works with MS Voice Command 1.6
I have just got this working with Orange SPV M600 with Dopod 2.15.13.27 WWE ROM and MS Voicecommand 1.6 US
Very happy about this because I lost the Orange Voicedialer when I flashed the Dopod ROM and was absolutely gutted!

Just an FYI, it seems that A2DP in AKU 3.3 has fixed this problem with VSD, and the fix listed above is not necessary.
Cheers!

Voice command activate from headset on Jamin

Hi, I have done a search but can't find it.
How do I make voice command be activated by a bluetooth headset instead of the normal Voice speed dial.
Thanks
From another XDA Dev thread:
MS Voice Command activation from BT headset
Now this one is sweet and makes the JASJAR the daddy for voice commands.
Install Voice Command to the default location.
Fire up a registry editor
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand
Modify the string marked "path" from the default \Windows\SDDialer.exe to \Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe
That reg edit doesnt work unfortunately
There is no solution for the prophet yet in this matter.
I beg to differ, it works on my Jamin, I just press the button on the headset and then through the headset ear peice I hear that little slut confirm my request and then she rings the number or what ever I asked her to do, she is truely my dream girl.
Ater this reghack?? Youre more than welcome to share your solution! If it truly works, no one would be more happy than me,
What ROM do you use?
I have a vague memory of that it worked under the swedish Qtek ROM 2.09 or something. Unfortunately I cant see that ROM under the FTP so I cant revert back to it.
i-mate rom
1.0.9.25 WWE
01/09/06
I believe that this should work on the Imate rom, but not on the latest Dopod rom and am not sure about the Qtek rom.
If you can get the sddialler to work then you should be able to get VoiceCommand to work using those registry changes. However, as stated this will not work on the latest Dopod rom (that is why after upgrading to it, I downgraded to the latest, although slightly older, Imate rom.
It works fine for me after following the steps:
Install Voice Command to the default location.
Fire up a registry editor
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand
Modify the string marked "path" from the default \Windows\SDDialer.exe to \Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe
Not just that, I can now listed to my music via BT on my earpiece ordering Voice Command to play music !!.
Magnifico !!
Thanks to all the people committed to make this forum better everyday
Got this to work on my brand new JAMin as well.
ROM Version 2.13.9.23 WWE
Thanks for posting the solution.

Check if the path to Voice Command is right in your swedish rom.
I use a german rom, so I have to change the path in registry to \Programme\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe
Works perfect with german Vodafone-ROM 2.15.3.26

VOIP now working with WM6 !!

Hello
Please see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950&highlight=01752+265111 - that's great news.
It is quite simple - I followed the instructions to create the xml file then the .cab, installed it, turned wifi on, enabled the today plugin, when to settings/phone/internet to select "whenever", fixed the redundant 9 in the dialplan with totalcommander, rebooted, and in the next 5 minutes successfully called myself ! Even better: it works with a bluetooth earphone.
This is the 2nd killing application to me : fully integrated VOIP.
Only 1 problem so far:international numbers do not work, which is a problem for me since every number I have stored is in the international format (+countrycode-localnumber)
Tomorrow I'll try to make my international number work with some dialplan editing and post my results here.

Excellent news.
If possible, please provide me following three DLL files from your universal WM6 Windows directory.
dnsapi.dll
voipphonecanvas.dll
rtcdll.dll
I downloaded and installed three three files for Hermes WM6 from ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/WMXL_Support_Files/WM6VoIP.CAB.
It can not make VOIP calls because those DLLs are for Hermes WM6, not for universal WM6.
Thank you in advance.
they are the same for both devices.

AKU 0.5 & Voice Command

It seems that Voice Command does not completely work with AKU 0.5, particularly in announcing incoming calls. Whereas for AKU 0.3 you need to tweak by replacing 4 files into \Windows to get the incoming calls announcement working as per this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312344&page=3&highlight=Voice+Command+1.6
Well anyone out there can solve this matter is most appreciated.

Incoming caller ID announcements will be spoken via the phone speaker on devices with a Windows Mobile build prior to 15097.3.0.0. To check which build is on your device, go to settings >about or start >controlpanel >about. If your build number is lower thatn 15097.3.0.0, this will be true for your device.
Found this article on window mobile web site i do not know if it still applies or what you wanted to hear.
Thanks
By the way is there any tweaks to get it working since the mentioned tweaks work with AKU 0.3
Tweaks Workin Alrite
I just followed the instructions on the thread highlighted above and it worked like a charm. I have the Incoming Call voice back again. BTW I am using AKU 0.5 Business Laurentius ROM
You must overwrite 4 file in your Windows directory...
It works for me...
That files you can find in link above

Anyone found any salution?

Ivan V1 does not have voice command so first check what version of vc you installed, it does not work with version 1.60XXXX only with version 1.615XXX or higher
Ok, I don't remember what was previous version (before applying patches),
but I think that something like 1.6.0410...
Where can I find version 1.615XXX?
Thx

i have been trying to find too but to no avail maybe you can extract it from Ivan V6a or Helmi kitchen because i don't know how to.
Here you can find files for 1.6.15326 version:
http://vidmes.com/Uni/Kitchens/helmi_c/Kitchen_OEM/ms.voicecommand=1.6_universal.rar
I'm now trying to mix those files with my old version of VC install
and with those 4 fixed files...
EDIT:
No result :/ I have overwiten all files from \Program Files\Voice Command and \Windows directory
with thos from 1.6.15326 version. After soft reset VC was 1.6.15326, still no announce incoming calls...
Next I have patched those 4 files in \Windows directory with fixed ones. After soft reset VC is 1.6.17913
version, but still it is no announcing incoming calls...
Maybe someone who know how to build a clean install from those files from helmi kitchen make a proper cab
and maybe after clea install it will work...
Uff... After intensive work and searching I have managed to get working announcements
for incoming calls!! It is working either with device speakers and with bluetooth headset!
All you have to do is to install this cab (Voice Command build 1.6.17913)
(pls uninstall any previous VC installation)
MS Voice Command 1.6 (WM6 working) Download
Tested and working on Ivan's new build v1 (AKU 0.5)
PS. I have uploaded also latest working Cyberon Voice Commander, you can
test it and compare to MS Voice Command... I rather like MS app, becouse
Cyberon don't announce incoming calls (and this is important for me )
Cyberon Voice Commander 2.0 (All devices working) Download
Excellent can you please post cab somewhere also coz i cannot use rapidshare. Thanks
I have other problem with that VC... Not so big (incoming call
announcing is more important), but it is irritating... Look here:

Problem solved!
Thank you very much! This solved an issue that has been vexing me for literally months. I tried all the reg entries listed elsewhere and finally gave up. I just flashed to Tai's 6.5 (another big win for me) and had hoped that might resolve the issue but without luck.
Then I stumbled on your work and my problems are solved. Thanks again mate!

[22-Nov-2007] XDA Mobile 6 Release 4 - Happy Thanksgiving!

XDA Mobile 6 Release 4
Let's give thanks on Thanksgiving; Its a new XM6!
You can now cook your own version of this rom! Click Here!
XDA Mobile 6 Release 4 (XM6r4 for short) is the fourth version of the popular XM6 rom series for the Wizard. The base rom is the same, but with new features and fixes to a few bugs found in XM6r3.
XM6r4 is built on the OS 5.2.318 Build 15342.4.0.01 rom that was provided to us by InGeNeTiCs from Howard Forums. While this is not the "newest" release of WM6, it is the last known release that was built for the Wizard (ie: its not a port from another HTC Device). Various pieces of the base rom have been upgraded, so some of it is stuff ported from other phones so that it can have newer functionality. Overall, I feel this base is very stable and fast and makes a great base to cook on.
Please Note: this ROM was NOT intended to push the limits on speed optimization or memory optimization. It was made to be functional, stable, and something that I myself wanted and will use. I've found it to very quick and responsive (especially with Overclocking with BatteryStatus), and so far Battery life has been very good for me and those beta testing this. If you have a Battery Drain issue, make sure you flashed back to an official rom before you upgraded to this one, as that should correct extended rom corruption that has been shown to cause battery draining. BatteryStatus is NOT included in this ROM. If you want to overclock or use other features of BatteryStatus, you are welcome to download and install the latest version of BatteryStatus yourself. I personally use it, and have OMAP set to 247MHz with CPUscalar set from 143 to 247 and Boost set to 260Mhz.
Base ROM Information
The base rom was an "Official" Wizard WM6 ROM that was part of the development cycle of WM6 inside of Microsoft (Dogfood as they call it). The base rom was not a port of another device rom with drivers and stuff pieced and parted onto this one, but this was an actual Wizard WM6.
Windows Mobile 6, OS 5.2.318 Build 15342.4.0.01
ROM Version: 10.1.0.811 WWE
ROM Date: 08/11/06
Protocol: 4.1.13.09
There is no Radio, IPL, SPL or Extended ROM included in this (so its G4 "safe").

Mods made from XM6r3
In addition to the apps listed above, the following fixes and mods were made to improve the user experience on XM6r4
Changing ringtone now stays changed when you leave the Phone app
Using press and hold on CommManager button toggles vibrate on and off, and phone does NOT stay stuck in vibrate / no ring mode
Regional Settings default to English (United States) and use a slash for the date seperator (M/dd/yyyy)
Menu sounds work by default
Pressing the "End Call" button does not disconnect GPRS but minimized the active application. Pressing and holding the "End Call" button for about 5 seconds will do a GPRS Disconnect
Internet access over ActiveSync (USB) connection works (You must apply a registry fix on your PC first. See the next post for the fix)
D pad now works differently with PIE. Up and down presses on the D Pad stay the same, but pressing right jumps forward a page and pressing left jumps backwards a page. Makes going through websites easier (IMO).
Fixed the A2DP registry for sampling
Registry Entries for PIE Connections to speed page loading
Registry Entries to increase In Call Volume
Press Button 1 for messaging (like normal) or hold it a little longer and HTC Action will come up (via HButton)
WkTask setup to not show Phone and Activesync as running apps in task bar
QuickMenu enabled for nice drop down and cascading start menu
Touch Scroll only is active so use your finger to scroll in most places
Requirements
You MUST have an IPL and SPL at 2.xx or higher (BOTH not just one or the other).
You MUST be running ActiveSync 4.5 on Windows XP (Vista comes with the correct sync utility, although there have been issues reported about Vista and sync'ing with PPC's so be aware of that).
Before you attempt to upgrade to this ROM, Please follow this thread to learn how to flash roms, CID unlock your phone, and how to fix issues you may run into! It is also recommended that you flash your phone with a Windows XP computer and not Vista. It will work with Vista, but if you run into problems Vista can't talk to a phone in Bootloader mode!
Recomendations
I HIGHLY Recommend that you flash back to an official rom before upgrading to this (or any) custom rom so you have a clean base (and correct any Extended ROM corruption you might have). G4 users would flash back to their provider's latest official release or the Wizard Love ROM. G3 users can use T-Mobile 2.26 for a good base.
If you use BatteryStatus (its NOT included in the rom!) to overclock, I don't recommend overclocking above 260Mhz, and the CPUscaler settings in BatteryStatus should not be set to a min lower than 143MHz (or your device may not wake back up after going to sleep).
Newer Radio ROMs on WM6 have had issues in the past (especially for Cingular / AT&T users). T-Mobile 2.19 (UK or NL versions) seems to be the most stable, but you can now run newer radios with the attached cab. This cab also works for some other providers but not for all, so its up to you to test what works for your phone.
Credits
I've moved the credits to the 5th post of this thread as this post has become too big.
Known Issues
When entering a contact in the "To:" field it does not link to the outlook contacts, it instead shows suggested words. You can tap the word "to" and it will go to the contact list no problem. Also, when trying to select a file to send no file names or pictures are displayed just empty square boxes, you can tap the box and it will go to the next sub folder, if it is a folder. There are no thumbnails or files listed so it is impossible to navigate to select a picture or video. Click Here to download patch
After the initial flash, some have reported that QuickMenu pops open the start menu when you are supposed to tap the screen to start the phone setup. Just wait a second or two and it will close by itself.
The base rom has a bug / feature where if GPRS is active, unanswered calls may not show up as a missed call and may not give notification of the unanswered call. If this happens, the unanswered call shows up in the history as an answered call with a duration of 1 or 2 seconds.

How to not have a 24hour Clock (or how to show AM/PM)
This works on all WM6 roms
Go to Start > Settings > System > Regional Settings
Make sure you have the correct Region selected
Click on the Time tab
Click on the drop down box for Time Style
Notice the little up and down arrows? This is a scrolling region in this dropdown. Click the up arrow a couple of times and you'll find h:mm:ss tt
Thats it. Microsoft is amazing at having a 2 line scrolling region on this dropdown. You'd think they would have had at least 3 or 4 lines show up for chosing (and it would be more obvious that its a scrolling region then too).
GPRS / MMS Setups
First, here is The Ultimate Thread with people posting operator settings for about all providers! In the first post is a link to the thread where walshieau is creating an automated way of setting up all of these!
What follows is a list of automated and manual ways of setting up GPRS and MMS for various cell providers and regions that I've collected:

Code:

Splash Screens and Splash Only RUU for G4
For G4 users, Click Here for the RUU with the Splash Screens of this rom (since you don't get them when you use the shell tool). As I understand it, this is completely safe for a G4 as its nothing but splash screens (no OS, IPL, SPL, Extended ROM, etc, just splash and htc logo screens). I've also placed the .bmp files that make up the splash screen in the zip file so you can see them directly before flashing this.
If you have problems flashing the above RUU on a G4, then extract this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=29158&d=1152698784 and pull the nk.nbf file out of the above Splash Screen file and put it into the directory of this one and run this RUU. You can use the same method for flashing the Radio Only ROM (pull the nk.nbf file out of the radio only rom and put it into the directory of this RUU and run it). Thanks anichillus for that link! You can also check this thread for another RUU that is in English and seems to work for most G4 users. Thanks Vippie!
Weather Panel Setup
See my post in the Wizard forum on how I setup WeatherPanel. It will give you a fixed dll with correct moon phases through 2008, new/better Moon phase icons, and a cool theme called Chameleon-240 QVGA. I dumped SBSH Pocket Weather after seeing this setup
Hermes Black Cabs that may be of Interest
Transcriber can be added back into XM6r4 by using the Black 3 Add-on CABs file. There may be others in it that may be of interest also for some. Included in this file is Cyberon VoiceCommander, Cyberon Voice Dial, VIjay555 utils, and a Slingbox patch (none of these I've tested).
Turning off Word Auto Completion
Some people do not like how Windows Mobile tries to suggest words that you may be typing. If you are one of those people, jacob-mda wrote up a post on how to turn it off. Check out This Thread.
Auto Completion for Spanish
User peu found the file to change the auto completion of words to Spanish. You can check his post here for details and a link.
Skinning the Dialpad
You can find skins for this dialpad HERE. See image attached below for an example.
Skinning MortPlayer
MortPlayer is very skinnable. Check out the qVista example attached below. You can find qVista here: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/them...rting-qvga-vga-landscape-portrait-square.html
More skins can be found here: http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&action=list&category=23
Or create your own skins by reading this: http://www.sto-helit.de/freeware/pocketpc/mortplayer/en/skinhelp.html
BatteryStatus (for Overclocking, CPUScalar, and much much more)
BatteryStatus is a very popular utility around here and for good reasons. Currently its in a beta phase and the author is releasing new versions of the beta constantly so I decided not to put it in the rom and let people install whatever build of it they want. Also, some versions of BatteryStatus have been known to cause excessive battery drain, so be aware of that too. You can find it in the Official BatteryStatus thread and if you do use it, feel free to give feedback on it in that thread as they are always looking for ways to improve it.
NOTE: If you do use overclocking, I recommend you use the OMAP Apps tab to setup Camera to be at 195Mhz as it can mess up the display if you are overclocked and doing the camera.

FingerFriendlyFriends v1.0 Beta 2
For those wondering, PocketCM was replaced in XM6r4 for two reasons. First the author of PocketCM did not want it included in roms. Two, I like the FingerFriendlyFriends app (even though I hate the name )
Check out these images of it:
I would advise you to check out and participate in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340227&highlight=fingerfriendlyfriends if you like FingerFriendlyFriends. The official website is http://www.jotto.no/fff/ and has info on using and making the most of FFF
For those that don't want to run FFF and want the standard Conctact manager back you can do the following:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCONTACTS
Change "String 1" value from "\Windows\PocketCM.exe" to :MSPOUTLOOK contacts.
Then if you want it back, you can change it back to \Windows\FingerFriendlyFriends.exe
Since FFF is in beta, if you need / want to upgrade, just drop the FingerFriendlyFriends.exe file in \Windows
SK tsync
Included in this rom is SK tsync, which will synchronize your phone to time servers. I've included in \Windows a special link called tsync silent.lnk . You can copy this link (with TotalCommander or use WinXplore) to your \Windows\Startup folder and it will allow your phone to sync its time after a reboot. Famewolf also wrote a Mortscript for easy install (since Mortscript is part of this rom). Click Here to download this script, then just place it on your phone and run it, and it will copy this shortcut to your Startup folder for you.
MobileJustice v0.8
MobileJustice is an Anti-theft app that you can configure on your phone. Just go to Start > Programs > Accessories and click on the MJConfig icon (first time in you will get a message that there isn't a config file, just click ok and it will be created). To us this, check the Enabled box, then click Add on the Allowed line. You can then setup your SIM card as an authorized one, and add other SIM cards IMSI numbers if you use more than one. Next click on Add next to Report to: and setup an SMS number (wife, friend, colleague) where you want the text message to go to if an unauthorized SIM is put into your phone. You can add multiple SMS numbers if you want. At this point, your phone will now be setup so that if an unauthorized sim is put in it, then it will send an SMS (with no record of it being sent) to your Report To list on the next boot (you can test this by not setting up (or removing) the Allowed and then doing a soft reset).
For more advanced, you can turn on the Disp MsgBox at the top and then put in some text in the MsgBox text line. This will pop up a Message box on the screen of the phone after a boot, if an unknown sim is in the phone.
You can also enable RMon (bottom half of the screen), put in a pass phrase, and then turn on MsgBox (GPS and LocCall do not work on Wizards, and the other options haven't been implemented in this version). By doing this, you can now send an SMS to your phone in the following format:
+m passphrase message
Rmon will intercept the sms message (so it will not show up as a received message), and if the passphrase matches the one you put in the configuration, then it will pop up a message box on the phone with your message in it (so you can secretly send messages to the thief to possibly intimediate them (or whatever).

Those that took the time to help alpha and beta test XM6 Release 4 (Rudi, Peter, and Ben). We worked out a number of issues with a nice quick beta test (XM6r3 beta worked out most of the real bugs so this one was "easy" )!
Everyone that installed and gave feedback and support on the other XDA Mobile 6 threads
Everyone that I thanked in my other ROM releases!
I thought there were going to be door prizes...didn't we agree on door prizes? No mouse pad?
Great job once again mfrazzz on the rom!
^..^
congratulations..
This really is an excellent release Thank you, Mike, and happy Thanksgiving..
One remark though, for everyone who may see the QuickMenu popping up at the first boot after the flashing: You don't need to click anywhere to make QM disappear, it will hide itself after a few seconds and you can continue to the initial configuration of the Wizard.
Release 3 is one of the best roms, i was waiting for next version.
Thanks for this one, will flash it today.

What about the pagepool and the free RAM ?
Good job
Release 3 was one the most stable ROM for WIZARD, I have noticed so far.
Wish the same for release 4 too.
Thank you
Happy thanksgiving.
I'm curious, what happens to my apps installed on my storage memory? Will I have to reinstall everything? I'm uprading from Release 3.

If your apps require registry entries more than likely you will have to reinstall them..they may or may not keep your settings depending on whether the settings were kept in the file or in the registry. (usually the registry)...any documents or files stored on the card should be fine however.
Here is a mortscript which may be of use to people reinstalling...it's called Reload..I am not the original author..I just made a few changes.....these instructions are taken from the Readme.txt inside:
How to setup:
1)Extract Reload.zip to the root of your storage card.
2)Place cab files in the CabsAuto folder if you want to the cab to be automatically installed to the phone storage.
3)Place cab files in the CabsManual folder if you want to be able to choose where to install the cab.
4)Place file in the Backup.zip file that you want to be restored to root of phone.
ie. If you wanted example.jpg to be placed in the \Windows folder, place example.jpg in the Windows folder of the zip file.
5)Place file in the SDBackup.zip file that you want to be restored to Storage Card.
*Please note that the cabs files placed in the CabsAuto folder need to conform to only asking the user for the installation destination, then showing installation successful/unsuccessful. Otherwise you might encounter some problems. You should place cabs that don't conform in the CabsManual folder, or adjust these cabs with programs such as WinCE CAB Manager.
###############################################
How to use:
2)Execute Reload.mscr. This will initiate the script that will first install the CabsAuto, then CabsManual, restore the files in the Backup.zip file if it exists, and finally restore the files in the SDBackup.zip file if it exists..
###############################################
Please note that files in CabsAuto are cleared out as they are installed so you may want to have a "CabsAuto.save" you copy over before a Reload.

WOW! - One Question
This looks like an amazing release. I haven't flashed my phone since TNT 4.0, but I am going to try this tomorrow night for sure. Just one question, does this have the fixes so that there are no problems with the missed call notifications when using GPRS or during another call?
Thanks a lot for your hard work again mfrazzz!

As stated this is mentioned as a known issue in the first post still. Never got from its right what the fix was (and may just be an issue with 318).
Awesome Job!
Once again, an awesome job mfrazzz. Keep it up. I have been using the XM6R3 until today.
An awesome collection of apps in this release.

The radio fix?
The Radio fix (XDA Cingular WM6 Radio Fix2.cab) ... has that already been applied and, if not, what does it fix exactly?
Which could be causing my problem? My girlfriend isn't getting my texts and she has verizon. Is it the 2.19 radio rom, this rom, or the T-mobile settings I chose?

[31-Dec-2007] XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 FINAL - Full and Lite versions

XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 FINAL - Full / Lite
Happy New Year!
If you want to use XM6r5 as a base, check out the XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 Cooking Pack!
XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 (XM6r5 for short) is the fifth version (and most likely my last since I now have a Tilt/Kaiser phone) of the popular XM6 rom series for the Wizard. This ROM brings back the stability of XM6r3. There is a Full and Lite version. Also I'm releasing a cooking pack so you can build your own version of XM6r5.
XM6r5 is built on the OS 5.2.318 Build 15342.4.0.01 rom that was provided to us by InGeNeTiCs from Howard Forums.
If you have a Battery Drain issue, make sure you flash back to an official rom before you upgrade to this one, as that should correct extended rom corruption that has been shown to cause battery draining. If you want to overclock or use other features of BatteryStatus, you can download and install the latest version of BatteryStatus. I used it when I had my Wizard, and had OMAP set to 247MHz with CPUscalar set from 143 to 247 and Boost set to 260Mhz.
Base ROM Information
The base rom was an "Official" Wizard WM6 ROM that was part of the development cycle of WM6 inside of Microsoft (Dogfood as they call it). The base rom was not a port of another device rom with drivers and stuff pieced and parted onto this one, but this was an actual Wizard WM6.
Windows Mobile 6, OS 5.2.318 Build 15342.4.0.01
ROM Version: 10.1.0.811 WWE
ROM Date: 08/11/06
Protocol: 4.1.13.09
PagePool: 6MB
There is no Radio, IPL, SPL or Extended ROM included in this (so its G4 "safe").

REMOVED: SuperDoku v1.1 - Install via cab now
Mods made in XM6r5 (Lite and Full versions)
In addition to the apps listed above, the following fixes and mods were made to improve the user experience on XM6r5
Button 4 starts the WkTask Launcher by default. Press and hold Button 4 to start Voice Recorder app
ROM now remembers new words in custom dictionary
Fixes found in XM6r5 RC1 have also been implemented in this Final version.

Known Issues
After the initial flash, some have reported that QuickMenu pops open the start menu when you are supposed to tap the screen to start the phone setup. Just wait a second or two and it will close by itself. Or tap anywhere on the screen and it should close so you can begin the normal setup procedure.
The base rom has a bug / feature where if GPRS is active, unanswered calls may not show up as a missed call and may not give notification of the unanswered call. If this happens, the unanswered call shows up in the history as an answered call with a duration of 1 or 2 seconds.
I inadvertently reintroduced the problem where when you go into the Settings->Phone that if you don't change your ringtone that the ringtone will revert to the default one. Also this causes switching the phone to Vibrate with the comm button to sometimes stick and stay on Vibrate even though the phone shows the ringtone should be on. Famewolf posted a mortscript for the fix in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=117. If you want to do it by hand, then just open the registry editor and navigate to HKLM\Security\System then remove the entire FDRM key.

How to Upgrade from RC1 to Final without reflashing
How To Upgrade to XM6r5 from XM6r5 RC1 without Flashing
If you are running XM6r5 RC1 and want to upgrade to the Final version without having to Reflash, I'm providing a CAB to do this. You will find the CAB attached to this post. Files installed by this are installed in storage memory and NOT in the ROM (you have to flash to put things in the ROM), so if you hard reset, you will have to reinstall this CAB. You must choose to install this on your device and not on the storage card (It shouldn't ask you but if it does choose device) for this to work.
This cab does the following:
Updates PIM Backup to 2.7
Changes WkTask left and right setting so it doesn't hide VoiceMail (and similar) notification icon
removes the tools folder icon from the Windows folder
Changes the Wait Cursor to be the Touch one
Change Start->Settings->System->About to show XM6r5 instead of XM6r4
Fixes Smartdialing Options in the dialpad menu
Add default registry entries so when (if) BatteryStatus is installed, Phone and Camera are set to 195Mhz
Make PocketRAR the default app for .zip files
You will need to soft reset after this install completes.
A Couple of Apps left out of XM6r5
Attached to this post are some cabs for apps that were left out of XM6r5 Final.
SuperDoku is a Sudoku game that I enjoy and I know others liked to play also.
TodayAgenda is a Today plugin to show your Tasks and Appotinments. Unfortunately in r4 and beta versions of r5, there was a bug when this was built into the rom so I opted to leave it out. You can just install the cab and you'll have TodayAgenda back and the options bug will not happen this way.
Marshall's Touch Wait Cursor was left out due to a space limitation. This changes the default WaitCursor (The red/green/yellow spinner) to a wait cursor like on the Touch phone.
Info on Included Apps
Keyboard Skins
I've included in the rom an application called Keyboard Skins that allows you to change the onscreen (SIP) keyboard colors. The app is in Start->Programs->System. There are 20 different keyboard skins you can choose from! Just choose from the list, and after the program ends you will need to do a soft reset to see the new skin. Enjoy!
WkTask
WkTask is a Task Manager that has a lot of functionality. Its small, quick, and powerful. You can find out more about it (including a video demo) by going here: http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
QuickMenu
Quick menu is enabled by default and gives the Start menu a drop down style. Use the QuickMenu settings (found under the Start Menu) to configure the options. More information can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340358
Note: QuickMenu has task manager functionality (which is NOT enabled by default). If you don't want / need the features of WkTask, you could disable it, and enable the QuickMenu task manager instead. Do NOT enable QuickMenu's task manager features without disabling WkTask (or other Task Managers you may load) as they can conflict with each other and cause unpredictable results).
Radio ROMs
Here are links to a few of the Radio ROMs that I've used with XM6r4. Remember that Radio's newer than the 2.19 radio may require the WM6 Fix CAB that is attached to the first post of this thread.
T-Mobile 2.19.11 UK
Cingular 2.25.11
2.61.11
2.69.11
Voice Command
MS Voice Command 1.6 US HERE and HERE and HERE
MS Voice Command 1.6 German HERE and HERE and HERE
MS Voice Command 1.6 FR HERE and HERE and HERE
MS Voice Command 1.6 UK HERE

VoIP Setup Instructions
Thanks to joaosousa for the following steps!
!!! Only Tested in a Wifi network !!!
Install the wm6voip.cab.
Restart your Wizard (Soft Reset).
Go to Start > Programs > Toobox and open Setup VoIp Aplication.
Insert your VoIP account information.
Restart your wizard (Soft Reset).
Now you should be able to use VoIP, check the status of the service in the today screen.

Upgrading and Patching XM6r5
Upgrading and Patching XM6r5
XM6r5.1 Patch (6-Jan-2007)
NOTE: To install this patch, you will need to turn off Smartskey first (or you will get an error about not enough permission to install this). To do this, go to Start -> Settings -> Smartskey . This should then ask you if you want to stop it from running, answer yes. Then you can install the CAB.
This patch does the following:
Change Settings -> System -> About screen to read XM6r5.1
Upgrade dotFred's TaskMgr to 2.9 and set it to not minimize to the systray by default
Downgrade Smartskey to .56 to fix some issues with volume control
Installs Camera Patches to reduce speckle and improve camera performance
Install Battery Saving fixes to help improve battery life on the device

Woo Hoo! Thanx Again
Downloading now...
downloading now. thanks. i'll let you know what happends. new years present came in early
I can't wait, flashing carrier rom as we speak. Then onto the new R5 I have been waiting for. Thanks for all your hard work. Will miss seeing new roms from you, but am happy with what you have given to the community.
Jeff
thanks again mfrazzz. Works like a champ
I already tried RC1, so I expected this to be fine.
works like a charm. thanks
It works great except that when I installed Voicecommand 1.6, I can't get it to work over a bluetooth headset. I tested this with two different headsets that worked for me under XM6r4, but now all I hear is the headset conencting and no Voicecommand prompt no matter how long I hold down the button (or if I try to press it more than once). I also looked at the registry settings based on what I know from searches and past experience with bluetooth and Voicecommand, but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
EDIT: It looks like the problem was simpler than I thought. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Voicecommand a couple of times and on the last try, both bluetooth headsets now work fine with Voicecommand. There was no need for any registry edit after my last re-install.

I definetly tested out Voice Command (as thats what I use) and knew it worked for me. One thing to remember with Voice Command is after you install it, you have to do a soft reset. If you don't it will act weird and I believe connecting with BlueTooth properly is one of the issues I've seen.
Anyway, glad its working for you! Happy New Year!
thank you for your work
Mfrazzz, great work on this last rom. I really hope you stay with keeping your Wizard. Your work is the best. Happy New Year to ya

MMS "Error Synchronizing"
Has anyone ever figured out a reliable fix for the MMS "Error Synchronizing" problem? I've tried Manual settings, updateing ArcSoft, various cabs for the settings and I'm really starting to get frustrated here. I just flashed the new ROM, I almost didn't because of the nightmare I had getting MMS working again last time. I'm beginning to wish I hadn't.
for some reason does not let you use htc home plugin even installing .NET 2 wich is a req. for home plugin
