I bought a sync-charge cable for my XDA II. When I used it, it started charging my XDA II from 53% to 100% charge. After that it started discharging , even though the XDA II said it was still charging. I eventually unplugged it when the charge got down to 92%. What gives? Anyone else with this problem? :?:
You are not alone
I have a 'Lill Sync n Charge cable, with the modifications to allow it to charge and it too reaches 100% then stops topping it up.
More strangely, it wont start charging for me unless I open up the Phone app, then plug the cable in! Most annoying. I thought it was just the mods I had done poorly
Even more strangely, it has in fact, been more reliable since I upgraded the ROM to the latest i-Mate version. Bizzare.
Same problem here, weird thing is the first few times it charged, then it started discharging, now I use the mains charger from my xda1 which works for both.

IanF, mind telling us about the mod you did for the sync cable? Did you put in a diode or something?

I've tried charging the XDA II using the cradle without plugging the power adaptor. After charging the XDA II to 100%, the cradle kept it at 100% (using only USB power). So it seems that the problem is with the sync'n'charge cable. Has anyone seen a sync'n'charge cable that not only charges the XDA II to 100% but keeps it charged at 100%?
Charge n sync cable ...
i had a charge and sync cable, but i find it really really strange ... when i plug in to the usb port, the orange led on the xda2 came on, indicating that its charging, when u go into the batter apps, i can see that it shows charging as well ..
after a while. i open the power app again and saw the power bar, in % keeps decreasing !!! whats going on .... ??
anyone encountered this before? btw, the charge and sync cable is not an original item.
its charging now ...
what a heck ... it seemed like charging now ...
the power bar, in %, went down to 0%, then i unplug it (fearing that i might lose all data). was about to use the charger ti charge it, then i tot i might as well do a soft reset and try charging again ...
viola~~! it shows charging again and finally, from 0% to 1% in about 1 min time!! so i guess using a charge and sync cable to charge the xda2 will first discharge the remaining power and charge from 0% ... anyone to confirm on this?? its really annoying ..
conclusion?
well, the xda is charging near 30% now, but just wat makes the xda 2 charging ... ? it was discharging all the way till it reaches 0% ... then i did a soft reset and it went charging up now ...
was it the soft reset that sends the xda2 charging? ... or was it really had to discharge to 0% before charging up?? ...
puzzled ..
Odd... but it works
I tried using the Brando USB sync cable and it discharges... but when I had it synced I took the cable off and put it back after a few seconds it starts charging... hmmm....
I was wondering if this is normal for the Raphael (I have a fuze) to charge VERY slowly..ive always charged via usb and read somewhere that usb does a trickle charge (i never knew this) so i tried an ac charger and still same thing..my kaiser (tilt) charged full in a few hours..this thing charges maybe half way in 2 or 3 hours...any ideas?
I have had my device plugged in (i.e. not USB) for a couple of hours now. The charge has gone up from about 30% to 88% and seems to have stopped there.
Usb charging takes much longer than charging via AC. My phone will go empty -> full battery in maybe 4 hours on AC power, and will not fully charge in 6 hours using usb.
Also, I have a setting where the screen doesnt turn off for 30 minutes when plugged in, plus much brighter. If this is the case and I am playing with the phone plugged in it takes even longer still (i.e. when I am charging at work).
dg252: It is possible that your battery may be charged, but the battery indicator is stuck. Let it charge till the LED stops pulsing, then soft reset.
I've found that the provided charger work very quickly, however standard mini-usb chargers or usb leads will take forever to fuly charge, if they do ever reach a full charge. I think I read somewhere that the provided charger works at a slightly higher ampage.
I recently bought a chinese tablet (Sumvision Cyclone Voyager). I found that it wont charge past 92%. After much research i discovered that the problem can be fixed by one of the following:
-removing the battery
-wiping battery in CWM
-Full discharge until off, remove battery, hold power 30 seconds, replace battery charge to 100%
But most of these things require removing the battery or using CWM. What if the battery is non-removable? Or you cant get CWM for you model?
FIX for LiPo non removable (very simple)
I found the fix is:
1. Full discharge until it turns off
2. Full recharge while off until it stops charging ( will prob get stuck at the last bit (92% in my case but when off it dosnt give percentage just keeps showing animation for last 1/3 of battery to be charged)
3. Remove charger and power on the device. Use it until it drops below 80%
4. Recharge again while its on until it gets stuck at X% (92% in my case)
5. This is the important part: while its stuck charging remove the mains plug from the socket on the mains while leaving the connector plugged into the device (dont turn switch off at wall actually unplug the ac adaptor from the mains socket)
6. wait 30 seconds and plug it back in to the mains socket.
-Leave and see if it charges. It may not work the first time. For me it worked on the 3rd attempt.
I installed MoKee rom ( from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699446 ) and after a day of normal usage my phone discharged to the 0%.
Now I plugged it to the charger but won't turn on, only the green light turn on.
I removed the battery and reinstalled but the same.
I used different battery charger, but won't turn on..
What can I do?
All these charger have 5v output, 1.0A output.
I don't have original photon Q charger.
PS: battery is cold, seems that charger is not charging.. after some minute the green led turn off until I disconnect and reconnect the cable

You have 3 options to fix it
1. you must connect other battery must be 3,7v to your phone mb with some wieres and flash some other rom , if this no help flesh stock soft with RDS lite
2. maybe somebody have photon q in your area and he give you battery for 10 - 20 min or charge your battery in his phone
3. buy / make motorola usb service/factory cable ( when you connect your phone with this cable you will be able to flash stock software even if you have dead battery )

Hi all. I have that problem. My tablet tf101 wont charge. When I put charger tablet start and work, but on the screen stay 0% charging. In setting /battery stay "discharging" When take off charger , tablet turn off. I dont put on a few months, and now i want to use it. What i post to do. Battery is gone or ? Geve me advice
Sorry for my bad english
If the battery hit 0%, it might never charge up again
Leave it charging overnight, see if it kicks back in
Try trickle charge from PC > USB > Tablet
