I think I'm being a bit stupid, but here goes...
I want to be able to download video streams to my Tytn to view later. In particular .asx streams. I've tried using hubdog, but it only seems to work if there is a feed for the stream...i think...
Any help? I can get the streams to, well, stream, but I'd like to download them to view them later...

Unfortunately, in general, they're protected and you'll need third-party software to download them.

Ok, lets start all over again, uninstall the app and do a soft reset! Install/copy to my documents on your Dash and open the app. When the download is completed soft reset the your device. That's it! Youtube works on wifi only, also I recommend you install the Opera browser on your Dash!

Does anyone have the WM5 Video Streaming application???
I want to install it so I can be able to stream Live TV. I already looked into Meinsys thread regarding You Tube Video Streaming. I tried his application in there but it did not work.
Any other suggestions?

Did you also try the other links in the UPDATE sections? Some devices (for example, the Treo) need additional files.

NO I have not. I will read it again. The file you posted actually installed fine in my SD Card. It will not view You Tube for the same reason you mentioned in that thread.
What I am after is the actual WM5 Video application for PIE, because Kamal from the Universal forums created a nice WM5 ROM AKU 3.5. Unfortunately he took video streaming app out. As you know, without that app, there is no LIVE TV. I can hear sounds, but no picture since there is no viewer.
---
The application is called Vtap. You can view youtube videos, google videos, web cam videos, or any of the available video source online and it will format it for your device. It also has wikipedia. Just google vtap and give it a try, or type in your browser www.vtap.com to download for your device.
Wow
Works really good. Thanks for the post.
I think I found ........
I think I found my permanent video source for my wizard. And its free.
Skins
I just change the skin to night sky, and it matches the HTC touch theme. The other colors are classic, pulses aqua. I wonder if we can make our own skins for this app.
this is truly amazing.
Just my opinion after trying vTap that TCPMP route is better. You can go to the actual YouTube site via PIE, just click on the video of your choice and TCPMP plays it. But as I said, just my opinion.
Can you save the videos?
Post software link
I can't do the SMS route and going to vtap.com with my Axim doesn't work either. Can someone post a direct link to download the client software?
Good software. Have a few bugs but works great at my HTC Touch.
Here is the direct link to download: http://vtap.com/alldevices.html#5_ppc
vtap puts two shortcut on my programs list vtap & vtap(1). I remove and re-install and same thing. Just wondering why it places two shortcuts???
Great software. When I click cancel on the video player screen it shuts down the application and I am forced to restart.
Would be nice to filter the results by site (YouTube , BBC ect...)
Really nice piece of software! Seems i have trouble streaming though even on low quality settings, might be the net at my work lol.
Thx for your inform. I will try it!!

Of course it does its the same for WM5 and 6, the second link to be more exact. And for someone else who asked it is possible to save bookmarks with this program. And for the other gentleman who mentioned the multiple shortcuts in the programs menu I suggest you take a course on file managment with Total Commander. *HINT* Windows->StartMenu->Programs
I installed Vtap but it will not connect to the server and it tells me to try again later. Why does this happen? I use WiFi connection from home to test.
I also have tested it in the hotspot but to my surprise, it works fine in the hotspot. So, is there any port that I need to open or something?
This also happens to AvotMV. When I click the video clip, it just says buffering but nothing happens. Does anyone know what causes this? '
I also have TCPMP installed with the flashvideobundle. But I don't think it has anything to do with this, does it?
Just wanted to say that this program works great!!
this is a great app, i was testing them on my wing and its very cool! thanks alot
Hi,
I have a quick question / favor to ask. I often times like to stream audio and sometimes video on my device. Sadly, the site I use refuses to work with WMP on the phone. I believe it is an asx stream.
I believe CorePlayer supports this stream, but before I go out and buy it, can someone please be kind enough and verify for me if this stream will play? http://www.megastacja.net/kanaly/CLUB/club.asx
Thank you
PS. I would have checked it myself if there was a demo... sheeee...sh. lol.

The best I can tell. No. CorePlayer won't even allow me to choose a *.flv file from the Open Menu... hidden out.

Other videos from where? Are you talking about things like Veoh, Hulu, Metacafe, etc? If so,, try this app:
