Artimis coming to O2 UK - General Topics

I spoke to O2 UK customer services today and they confirmed the Xda Orbit (aka HTC Artimis/P3300) is now on their system and has a launch date of 27/11/2006. So not just O2 Germany, now O2 UK as well!!!!!

good news
good news, i was just thinking about upgrading to the xda exec. The orbit sounds much better for my needs. Did he mention any costs? execs are going for about 150 with new contract on o2, i hope the orbit is similarly priced.

Yup - we'll be selling it from 14th April.
Which realistically means sometimes that following month.
Maybe.
Why they had to change the name from Orion to IQ is beyond me.

New XDAs from O2 in January 2007

Spoke with O2 CS this morning and they advised me that 2 new XDAs are due for release on 15 January 2007. They are currently named the XDA Zinc & XDA Graphite. I have the feeling they are O2's version of the HTC Trinity & HTC Artemis respctively. I have no further info and frankly, neither did they.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Someone must know something, or maybe not considering o2 have no idea about the handsets themselves. I was told that the XDA Atom is something that is being considered by O2 UK for release.
Zinc and Graphite are not the products that you state, they are from a differenet manufacturer.
Cheers

O2 has severed all connections to HTC. Only O2 Germany are serving HTC products now.
At least the fact that O2 UK and HTC no longer have a trading relationship is very clear so we know not to rely on any of HTC's current and forthcoming models as pending releases on O2 UK. So who's handsets are being released?
Quanta and Gigabyte are the 2 I know have an involvement with O2 Asia so most likely will fill the gap in the UK but where can we see their handsets?
Plus is there anyone else to look at?
I believe a different company is responsible for the O2 XDA Stealth so there would be a good starting point.
Atom and Atom Exec are both manufactured by Quanta. The Stealth is manufactured by Gigabyte

Your statement is not correct, O2 UK still have a trading relationship with HTC and will continue to do so for the forseeable future. There will be a new Xda device launched in the UK and Germany in Q4 from HTC.

To the Lord,
Tell us what it is and when. Can you help shed any light on the Graphite and Zinc?
The basis of my comment with regard to O2 UK is that I have read in several places that HTC will no longer produce O2 XDA branded phones for O2 UK. I am well aware that O2 Germany continue to have a relationship, bearing in mind the XDA Cosmo and XDA Orbit
Zinc and Graphite will be 3G devices one smartphone one PPC device, neither from HTC, go here for pics and high level specs:

As for a relationship between HTC and O2UK that will continue.

Htc Polaris On Uk Networks?

(uk)
I know its being released on o2 as xda orbit II, but is it being relased by any other carriers- notably t-mobile or orange??
o2 tariffs are crap, and my orange contract finishes soon, t-mobile flext/web-n-walk is excellent.
thanks.
I just got the Top Cat on t-mobile thanks to expansys uk. Cost me +£100 on top of the tariff.

T Mobile are releasing the HTC Diamond as the MDA Compact IV. So no branded Touch Cruise version I'm afraid.

o2 Xda Orbit 2 no longer available in Germany?

Hi all
I've been wanting a Polaris real bad, but I prefer the o2 Xda Orbit 2 edition over the HTC Touch Cruise, so I figured I'd buy one in Germany - but now o2online.de no longer list the phone?!
Does anyone know if they have recalled it, or what has happened? I see a few available on ebay.de and certain retailers - but frankly, I'm a bit worried about it no longer being listed on the official site...
Cheers
I received my Polaris from o2 germany on tuesday
Hello,
I orderd my polaris from o2 germany in late december and received it beginning of this week.

When in O2 UK?

Hi,
I think that after 3 years with HTC Universal(s)(3), it's a time to change my phone!
There is nothing even close to XDA Exec so Raphael is the only alternative...
Does anyone know when I can expect this phone to hit UK market (O2)?
I was told that HTC Diamond will hit O2 by end of this week (retentions agent)- but that might not be the full story. On the plus side he knew about Raphael but didn't know any dates
Many thanks!
Cheers
Chris
I to was wondering the same
O2 Germany said they release the Touch Pro in the week of 15th september.
Any idea what o2 are calling the phone?
In Germany it will be called "o2 Xda diamond pro", guess it will be the same in the UK.
Today i found it at the O2 Homepage. It´s very expensive. https://service.o2online.de/portal?$part=Productcatalog.content.detailView&hardwareId=4510%20070033%2000&commercializationId=NewCustomerWebshopPostpaid&tariffId=O-GEN-H-L
o2 just started selling their version of the diamond "XDA Ignito" http://www.coolsmartphone.com/news4232.html
It's definitely available via o2 customer services as of today in the UK as I phoned up but they want £35 a month for 18 months = £630 minimum term and the touch diamond is £399.99 sim free most places now so I would advise get a sim free one then get a o2 sim only (simplicity) 30 day rolling contract
