I use some prog for SIP but it's in Russian. Do u need it?
hey
mustafin, the SIP client you have which is in russian, could you please upload it to here so that perhaps someone can work on translating it into english
how does it work? does it allow you to use your sp5 as a voip handset through your existing voip account?
thanx

I will be much obliged to you if you can give it to me
Could you please also send it to me [email protected]. I appreciate.
What about the BeWIP client?
Sure, it's in french, but I bet you can use it for any WM smartphone. Do a google search, it's supposed to work on the Tornado.
personally, I've been using SJphone for Pocket PC, but ripped out the needed files and ran it on my SP5m.
It works well, but the interface is awkward since it was designed for a touch screen.
Has anyone found anything that works well and was designed for smartphone?
Download the Skype 2.2 for tornado and it works excellent. No delays or echo found..
http://www.skype.com/download/skype/mobile/downloading_smart_beta.html
Let me know how it works ?
yeah, I've used it.
I meant SIP so i can bring my existing VoIP provider with me.
I have GoSIP but again it's a french client
I'd give it a shot... I took a little french in high school...
Still looking for sip client for my sp5m. I installed Skype (not sip) and its working great. However, I would like to tap a sip client to our VOIP system we have at wrok.
SJ Labs - Did not releas one yet
All other I saw, are asking you to connect to a pre-define SIP server
Any help/tip is welcome.

I tried to get it form their site, but it seems that they want me to download it in stages through SMS (my french is rusty, but that's what it looks like).
Do you have the complete .exe or something that I could try?

Hey Acsguitar.
I think you're missing the point here...
Sure, you can have skype call a landline for a fee, and even have your own incoming number for another fee... But those of us who already have a regular VoIP-based landline phone number (such as with vonage or broadvoice) can call through their already existing service using their already existing number with the proper SIP compatible softphone.
I am able to take my home number with me when I travel using SJphone, but because it doesn't have a smartphone version, the interface is a bit buggy when you run it. I'm looking for something smoother.

Hey Guys
Been using this Software from Peer 2 Phone for a while now and it works fine with my Voiptalk account, only downside is you have to ask them very nicely for it on an individual basis, and then they E-Mail it to you, there website address is: http://www.peer2phone.com/telephony.html
Hope you all have the success that I have with this SIP client, happy Hunting chaps,
Kind Regards Ashe

No!
You have to E-Mail them for the software, I am sorry I respect peoples software rights, I am just a bit ethical that way, however they will not have a problem, in fact they will be more that delighted to send you the software if you E-Mail them,

OK, I know this is primarily an HTC-focused site, but I also know that some of the best WM brains are on this site so we're reaching out for help.
A customer of ours is looking to BLOCK all inbound calls from a MC9063 device (Sprint CDMA, WM2003 PE). They wish to maintain the ability to dial outbound but eliminate the possibility for all inbound calls.
Do you guys know any ways to do this (via typical settings or even registry hacks)? Are there any WM tools out there that would allow more specific control of the WWAN radio features than what is offered with Microsoft's controls?

Thanks Nomad! I'm going to check this out today. From the info on the site, it looks like it may be close to what we're looking for. Great suggestion.
I was reading in the kaiser and diamond threads about Im clients an was wondering which one people would recommend but also I am overseas a lot and travel quite a bit with my job and was wondering if there is an IM client out there that utilizes the front facing camera for chats? I ask this because searching has gotten me no where.
thanks in advance for any help

well actually... there's one client that uses the front camera:
ever heard of Netmeeting? it existed way before msn and yahoo.. at that time we (only) had mirc and ICQ those were the days..
anyways microsoft made a netmeeting client por ppc which uses the camera.. never tried it, tho. and the software only works by connecting to an ILS server (much like netmeeting). if you've never heard of Netmeeting, just go to Star->Run-> Conf.exe

yups, I use Smaper (formerly known as mChat by mGSLab.com)
http://smape.com/smaperfiles/wm/smaper106w_pe.cab
It's not easy to find the file (or even the description) on smape.com; but with babelfish and some russian translating it's fine (the program is not russian, it's multilanguage)
still waiting for the devs to get filetransfer working again (used to work until june or so, mgslab.com server is routed to smape now) but everything else is fine (ICQ, AIM, jabber, MMP, MSN...)
EDIT:
www.mgslab.com is rerouted, http://pda.mgslab.com/files.html and http://pda.mgslab.com still working. smaper 1.06 is the newer one though, it's an improvement over mchat 2.3.0.x
just my five cents hth

Tks for the link. When I click on it; it diverted to http://research.microsoft.com/mcom/portrait/ AND Microsoft Portrait doesn't work on Kaiser http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387327
this is one of the things that rly angry me in the wmob world.
had that idea long ago when i bough my magician: we had gprs (33.6k baud was more then enough), we had a built-in camera, we have im applications, how cool was to webcam mobily?
and now after 3 years microsoft didnt even cared to pull a wrapper for the phone camera(s).
care to know why not? THE CARRIES! that way they couldnt pull out the astronomicall but lucrative rates on video-calling.
f*ck the exploited capitalism. america has to pay now
i use slick and it works pretty well also free
trying them out
i am trying all the ones that you guys said you like and i looked up aim and got AIM mobile but whenever i try to connect i get " Connectivity error 12029"
and i dont think my wifi is working correctly.. any pointers
qip.ru has a WM client that supports ICQ und Jabber. Im using it on ICQ and Google-Talk. Very stable an no other Problems, even if running for more than one day over GPRS.
ICQ
If you want ICQ-only client,Pigeon is the best on Raphael. I have tried any others, but they have problems playing sound notifications.
Pigeon fulfills all my requests on ICQ client perfectly:
- History in textfile and fast to read back
- Vibration and sound notifications working
- Easy and fast to use
- Nice design with cool smileys
Don't forget to prove whether you client stores some data on the client's provider server! Agile Mobile and Palringo both use a web gateway to connect to Jabber or ICQ. In both cases all your massages and passwords travel through foreign servers. This isn't really nice.
QIP 2040 works really fine on both ICQ und Jabber, and there aren't any problems with notification, vibration etc. And it directly connects to ICQ und Jabber-Server. So there is some privacy!

Are you sure,QIP2040 is playing sounds correctly while in standby? My not.
Sorry for all,I forgot to write, that sound notifications won't play in standby(instead of Pigeon).
Yes, but I've disabled this cause of this anoying Uhoooh It still vibrates.
IM with video
Yo guys, still a bit confused here. Is there or isn't there a mobile IM application that let's you make mobile videocalls to MSN or Skype users?
No. See post #3, 8 and 9.
Pigeon! problems with Vibration
I just installed Pigeon on my Vario IV and everything's working perfect- besides notification with vibration. The sounds work perfectly...
Does anyone no what the problem is?
Do I have to mark both vibration modes or just one?
When I just pick one nothing happens.
Thanks for helping...

Hi!
Has anyone got the Planet3 (Skype, MSN and TV) working on this phone.
I tried the User agent hack and the browser.dll (posted by Sub69), but in one case it says my phone is not supported and the other will redirect me to the www.three.co.uk main site (browser.dll one)
I would really like to get it working as Three has the best internet for mobiles in UK (at least what I could find).
Please help me!
Anhtuan
EDIT - After soft reseting few time (one didnt do it), it seems to work with a url - mobile.three.co.uk/hb/singleurl. Have the N95 browser.dll active also. So let the testing begin

The TytnII is supported and sold by 3UK. To make your phone appear like a TytnII, amend the broswers useragent string to
HTC_TyTN_II Mozilla/4.0
Then going to mobile.three.co.uk will give you the HTC version of Planet3, which you have already found. No need to make your phone pretend to be a Nokia when it can appear like a Kaiser

Three don't have a Skype client for Windows Mobile, you need to install the iskoot client and make some registry changes so it points at the 3 Skype servers.
I got my Hermes working with the free Skype service on 3 by following post #46 on this page
http://tinyurl.com/6gaf4a
This is for UK users so you'll have to google to get the correct settings for your country, but the basic principle will be the same.
hi,
just saw this software that will be available for wm6.5.
its a voice activating software (sent texts, make calls etc with voice commands)
www.tellme.com
i think its a sub company of microsoft making it.
it says its going to be available through wm marketplace for wm6.5 phones, but cant see why it wont run on other wm OS's.
anyone got a beta of the software? or any other info
Nice site.. Lets wait and see how nice the program would be..

you can search the net for items and places with a voice command (eg. starbucks or ipod etc)
u can also write texts and send them using your voice.
i think it is the evolution if the ms voice command software (microsoft trying to interwine software together and changing the name so that it seems like something fresh and new).

Read the link it does all that and more.
Are MS ever going to release this then?
TellMe was (I believe) a separate company working on this snazzy voice control software, and I believe MS snatched them up to use as a replacement for MSVC going forward.
"Tellme" is certainly a snappier name than "Microsoft Voice Command." It actually looks like Tellme combines MSVC with the voice controls of the Bing app. I wonder how much overlap there will be.
Tell Me is part of the Samsung Intrepid WM 6.5 ROM. Would be great to be able to install that on my phone. Anyone up for the challenge?
hmmm would really like to install this... any1 with an interprid that would let someone here get the app. dont kno how its done but im sure the smart guys here do

Ditto.
Would love to get my hands on that cab.
TellMe
Tellme's primary business is in enterprise IVR systems and Voice enabled CRM and such. The TellMe Mobile apps including the WN6.5 client and the BB client as well at the 555-tell all agregate the voice samples collected during use to make the voice recognition part of their software more acurate and reduce the need for programming.
Seems pretty ingenious and gives Tellme a huge chance to be a great voice app unlike some apps that leave me screaming at my phone like some crazed person. While it again dials some completely random number from my phone book.
I hope that this exclusivity for the intrepid is short lived.

Dont I wish....so for just reading the site abunch goping for someone with access to the right phone.
on a seperate note all these exlusive deals tick me off. They should just post the app in marketplace and be done with it.
All we need is a ROM dump from the interpid, and we should be able to pull it out and create a cab. However, the phone isn't available yet so we will have to wait a bit longer.
Someone with a Samsung Intrepid needs to port it for us.
yes please
You can get it now, well according to their site, however Im in the uk and thus I dont think i will work for me!....
http://www.tellme.com/you/get
How frickin' insulting!!! Right now, on AT&T, T-Mobile & Verizon it's only available on Blackberry devices! And on Sprint, it's all Blackberry except for one WM device - the Intrepid!
WTF, Microsoft?!
Package here.It doesn't understand a touch screen, but it seems to work.
Hey guys, since I'm such a 1337 H4x0r I managed reverse engineer the installer from PPCGeeks to find out where the installer got the .cab from. Well, it paid off and I found the .cab straight from the site, and you can download it from: http://m.tellme.com/windows_mobile/TellmeSamsungIntrepid3515.cab. It still doesn't work on my Rhodium, but I figured I'd post this anyway, so you don't have to go to download from PPCGeeks or if you wanted a .cab file instead of the installer.

Have you tried the Voxofon software in the Marketplace? I'm not sure if this will fill your need, but it may be worth trying out.
Unfortunately from what I've read it seems that the SIP clients from previous version of windows mobile no longer exist in the newer versions, at least not yet.
Try this: Mobile Voip app is purported to have sip client functionality.
Google search "MobileVoip" to get their homepage.
Best of luck!
( <-- please click Thanks button, ty! <3 )
There are a couple of promising apps that show up if you do a Marketplace search for SIP, but they appear to be primarily in Chinese and Russian.
The Russian one is not a SIP client, rather a call-back service. FYI.
