Hi guys,
just have a little question. I have installed a taskmanger named magic button which creates a taskbar. But the program names of the current opened program are even active.
So i need a program or a registry twek to kill this text.
Does anybody know how to do this? I used the board search several times but found nothing. Hope you would help me.

My company use a product called onebridge to allow me to access my Lotus Notes email. It has an icon in the top bar (used to show status of the connection to onebridge) which is midly annoying but I can't seem to get rid of it.
More annoying than that is that it when it is there, it changes the 'action' softkey to be 'notification' about onebridge.
Does anyone know a simple way that I can try and stop this happening as I'd love to get back to the action option?????
Guess I'm looking for a registry tweak or something.
Help !
think people think that the registry have more power then it have
reg changes only do anything if the programmers desided to put
a key there to let the user change it
a programmer can deside not to check any registrys in wm at all
and it's often put on the NTH (nice to have)sheet not a big priority
Just in case anyone has the same issue, once onebridge is loaded on, you deleted the shortcut in the windows/startup folder - sorry forgot what it was called now but had ob & push in it if i remember right
Hi, I'm also using OneBridge on Kaiser - could you help me with the issues described in this thread?

does anyone know how or if you can add more programs, edit sizes, spaces etc. ?
Hi,
Not sure about size and spacing etc, but if you open up a registry editor and go here:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ParogramLauncher
You will find keys 0-17. You can add key 18, copy the strings from an unused key, do a soft reset, and hey presto you will have another tile to add a program to.

Hmm. should have tested properly before posting. The above does indeed add more tiles, and when you allocate programs to them the registry strings get updated accordingly. However, the tiles never become available for use.
I'll have a look later to see if there's anything else to change.

erm, me thinks you misunderstand.
That is for having more columns of icons in the programs menu within start.
What they want here is to be able to add more programs to the programs tab of TF3D.
Interesting idea, and definitely one i'm waiting anxiously to get an answer to. Not a major issue for me by any means, but would be handy!!

So no way to do this yet (hopefully) ??? I could really use more programs and more displayed across in TF3d myself.

Thank you
Actually I wanted to thank you Rabangus, because your answer really helped me.
I dont know how it happened, but I had an empty program icon in the 7th row in my Programs TAB (to which I couldnt assign any program) and I had no idea how to get rid of it. Thanks to your answer i erased the #18 in the registry and after soft reset - yes - it was gone - Yuppee
Thank you soooo much. It was really driving me crazy.
I am looking for the cab file that allows youto change your Start Menu name on the today screen. I want to personalize it. I use to have the cab file and need help.
Hey there, what exactly do u mean or want, do u mean the app called quickmenu? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340352
I think biggzz possibly wants a program that can edit the text saying "start" at the top left.
I think a program that lets you change the word "Start" and possibly even the windows start icon (top left) to another image would be great.
Sadly, i dont know of any that doesnt involve playing with the registry.
Perhaps someone could create a simple UI to edit these two things?

Thanks. I have searched through a bunch of threads with no luck yet.
I've never seen a CAB that does this...When I did it I had to use Reshacker to modify a MUI file....
I know the background of the start menu can be changed by:
1) changing the phones wallpaper like normal
OR
2) replacing the startmenu_background_screen_"resolution".png from within the windows folder.
The second is only if you want a different wallpaper in your start menu to the rest of your phone. (the default file is just a transparent .png which shows your normal wallpaper underneath)
I know you can also change the folder icons, by changing around other png files in the window folder.
My question is how can you change the font style or more importantly the colour?
Also, is it possible to change it so it resembles the wm6.1 start menu instead of the honeycomb?
(please dont say "just use a 6.1 ROM" because i dont want to. lol. I like wm6.5 as its quicker and more finger friendly, i just want the old start menu back)
no one know how to do these things?
anyone?
PLEASE?
im desperate here
lolz
As much or as little as you wish.
Have a look at some of the stuff I posted in here :-

Should answer a few of the basics.
Thanks for your reply, but those replies are about the today screen. I dont even use titanium any more. I find M2D more useful.
What i want to know is how to edit the Start menu.
the list of programs shown as hexagon icons
I want to change it to like how it was on wm6.1.
Just a grid of icons with words on a white background
OK, I have got what you are after... sounds like a registry hack somewhere....
Unfortunately the holiday(UK)/vacation(US), season is upon us, and I may not have found the solution for a week or two. If and when I do, I'll post it here and send you a PM.
Thank you.
Its appreciated

I second this question. And what I want is better not the 'grid view'.
Better we have a registry tweak way, so that we can make a HoneyComb Toggle.
In some cases when I want more RAM, it's better to shutdown the honeycomb and the titanium today plugin.
So another question is do we have a tool to toggle the titanium? Like we can do to M2D? I know we can do it through today settings, but I'm looking for a way like regitweak or mortscript, so that I can use a shortcut to map it to a hardware button, do it within one touch.
[Edit: Got some sence for the half of first question from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509160&highlight=start+menu
Seems the WM6.5 honeycomb start menu is an executable called shell32.exe. If so we can shut it down with a powerful task manager like DotFred's TaskMgr.exe or let it show up in the htc task manager by registry tweak and kill it. Will report it back after I test it next week. Or anybody can test it right now?
But the first question still need an answer.
Edit3: So what is the process or service of the WM6.1 start menu ? (for that I think it's not an exe) This may help to answer the question of how to resemble old start menu back.
And then what is titanium? An exe, a process or a service? Got a name?]
Thanks for any help.
there isnt!
there isnt a way to back to 6.1 start menu...
but you can use the Qucik menu that is a lil same... but you need to leave blank the cpr file for grid scene on your windows folder... then use the Quick menu that Utaker post on devs and hack forum just search with this exact words " Quickmenu instead honeycomb" you may get all the answer you need there... Oh and the honey comb can be modded in maaaany ways just search all over the devs a nd hack sections
thanks bye.
Hi everyone,
does anybody know how to properly remove the text from the quicklinks?
What I figured out so far is that in Registry "HKLM\Software\HTC\Manilla\Home\x" you can simply delete the "DispName" entry or delete its content.
The text and its dark "background" disappeares, but the result is strange though:
a) The quicklink still works, but is somehow not integrated correctly. It's like the transparent "Add Quicklink"-Pictures is put onto it as a second layer. A "transparent quicklinks"-cab could probably solve this though
b) The quicklink can not be removed anymore =) Which is the major problem.
So yes, (b) would prevent anybody from randomly removing your quicklinks when playing around with your phone, but a proper solution would be fine though. Any ideas?

looks like this (attachment) :
CHT Editor has a setting for this.
