my first post here. I've used the search function but I did not found an answer.
I've got an MDA Compact II (HTC Magician II i think).
With the old ROM (forgot to write down the version numbers ^^, i think it was 1.12) i was able to CID_UNLOCK using aWizard 1.3 beta 2, and then i've changed the bootscreen.
Now i've upgraded my MDA with the AKU2 upgrade from the German T-Mobile site.
My Questions:
:?: Is my phone still CID_UNLOCKED AFTER the AKU2 Upgrade?
:?: Do i have to CID_UNLOCK every time i start aWizard, when my MDA is allready CID_UNLOCKED?
After the Upgrade i can't CID_UNLOCK it :evil:, as many users report here too.

I bought my Magician on eBay and it is the best phone I have ever had. The phone is amazing. But of course 2 months have passed and I am dying to improve the phone. The Brand is a DOPOD 818, which is the HTC Magician or iMate JAM.
I see everyone here has the ROM 1.06, mine is 1.01.00WWE with a ROM Date of 10/21/04/ I am sure I should be upgrading my ROM for the enhancements but I am not sure how or where to go.
Everyone says to go to Club iMate but unfortunately my IMEI is registered through DOPOD and not iMate. The DOPOD site does not look like it has an updated ROM.
Can I use a generic ROM? Where can I get one? I am in the USA using T-Mobile, if that helps.
Please let me know what I should do.

you will need to do a lot of readings before upgrading... and if your device doesn't have any problems then don't upgrade... the latest version from imate is really bad.. i have tried it and went back the old one which 1.03.00 ... anyways go to this ftp ftp://xda:[email protected]/Magician/
and you will all the latest ROMs....

I'd like to buy a MDA Compact II from Germany with T-mobile lock and WM5, are you sure that with this program I'll can use all the operator (like wind)?
In which language is your MDA Compact II? I'd like to upgrade mine to italian language but I think that I can't find the WM5 italian ROM on internet, can I?
Do you think I can "downgrade" it to WM2003 italian ROM?

my Compact II is with German OS.
It isn't possible downgrade to 2003 SE and we jest have to find WWE OS for it.
I don't know if there will be a Italian ROM for the same device with different brand name!
From Germany the MDA Compact II is Netlock so you have to unlock it with Lokiwiz tool.

I could successfully unlock the SIM lock or CID lock. But, with the CID unlocked, how can I backup the MDA Compact II ROM (I just wanna make a backup before upgrade)? Error message: 'You didn't get the proper security level to download a specific image' is always shown when I use 'r2sd all' in Romupdate.

So you have tried upgrading to a German language ROM and then it gave you the CID error?

Have you tried to upgrade with the official software-update-file provided by T-Mobile or one out of the "Shipped_ROMS"-folder from this sites ftp by first putting the device into bootloader-mode and then starting the wizard? For me this worked where I had such errors while trying to flash my O2 mini to T-Mobile MDA (for ROM 1.13, both German) with Windows loaded.

T-Mobile Germany has a MDA (I used it for my MDA II with Windows Mobile 2003) ROM upgrade here:

I don't know if this will work for any newer MDAs since it was specifically released for the MDA II.
Use only magician roms for the pm10a & no prophet roms :!: & vice-versa of course.
When the mentioned rom is for the magician with WM2003SE & 128MB & the intel cpu, you can try at own risk. If it's for the ti omap cpu you're asking for troubles.

I am giving my MDA Compact to my cousin and would like to swap the language into Polish for him, can anyone help me do this, or provide a Rom link to a ERA rom.
I did a search and a guy posted the Extended_Rom, but I cannot find that or any others on the FTP.
They do sell the MDA compact under the ERA brand name in Poland, presumably all the menus and interface should be in Polish.

Man there's no IPL/SPL on Magician. Get me a way to put them on magician and I tell you how to upgrade to wm6!

You're on the wrong forum, the Mda Compact II is a Charmer not a magician. You can go to the proper charmer forum to upgrade your device to WM6.

err. did i read it correctly that you compact 2 has wm2003? if it is, then its not a charmer. Its a magician, youre pretty stuck with 2003se same as everybody else.
