hi,please help me: hardware buttons probl + question - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

hi, i just realized that my green and red answer/hung up buttons don't work,it's a rom bug?(i've the last one in italian installed)
can i map other buttons to make them work as answer/hung up buttons?

You can use VJKeyPress to emulate them. However, this sounds like a bad hardware fault, or a very odd bug. Check it carefully before considering other solutions.

can you please tell me how does it works?i don't understand so much reading from the web site description....can i assign to the contact button the answer function?(I think it's an hardware problem...you are right...)

what is the key for the red button?

How to use softkeys on WM5 (especially Atom)?

Hi,
I'd like to buy an Atom, but I cannot find any real feedback on how usable the device is with one hand, lacking hardware button to map on the WM5 softkeys.
Can someone report if it is possible (and easy) to press the on-screen softkeys with one's thumb?
I'd like also answers from Wizard/Prophet owners, that can compare the usability of hardware vs on-screen buttons (but please do not participate in the poll).
arg0: you can press the softkeys on the screen, and if you have dedicated hardware keys you can of course press those. If you can't manually assign the softkeys to other non-dedicated hardware keys, tell me about it and I'll knock some thing up to sort it.

hi!
What I'd like to know is: can you easily press the softkeys on the screen, using only one hand? (atom has no hardware buttons for the softkeys, and before buying it I want to be sure that one-handed operation is possible).
Thanks.
you can do it, but it's not easy because at least on the equivalent device (magician), the edge of the device tends to get in the way of the softkeys, which are like 7mm high. But it's perfectly feasible, and in the absense of dedicated keys, why not!?
None of these phones are particularly well setup for one handed use, but with some work, can be made that way!

vijay555,
thanks for the answer!
This is the first real user feedback I get about this.
I hope now that some Atom user will report, too.
I have been using the ATOM for the past 1 month and I have always used my thumb to activate the Softkey on the screen
it is much more comfortable that way
The ATOM is too small to use the bottom key (o2 media plus key ) as soft key (only key that can be reassigned in the front panel )
Also U cannot re map the Windows key as of now

Guys, can you not assign the Softkeys to hardware keys?
I could write an app to do that...

Thanks, good to know that that can be done.
What are the hardware buttons that can be remapped?
I read in a review that four hardware buttons can be remaped:
that should be "o2 media plus", "camera", "voice note".
What is the fourth? Power?

Weird Problem - schizophrenic button - help required!

Hi everyone!
I've purchased a second hand i-mate jam (magician) yesterday. There was a problem with it and I've upgraded to big storage 1.13.00 WWE with 1.12.00 radio. However the problem is consistent:
Every button is working besides directional buttons. I guess they are acting like enter button (including the middle selection button). And here's the funny thing: when I click any of the directional buttons, the red/close button stops to work and calender button acts as align screen!
What am I going to do with my schizophrenic buttons? Help me out!
I'm having more experience day by day, if any other semptoms are observed, I will share it with you guys. (and gals, if there is any)
Bye the way, donation is one solution away... (if you dont want to help for free )
Addition: I guess this is related with driver or rom issues, thats why I put this topic here. If anywhere else is the right place, move me there sir (admins)
Ow, ow, I forgot to tell: if I turn it off and back on (standby), the same working buttons back... When I press directionals, here comes the problem...
Problem identified
Middle selection button is kept pressed.
Try on your own: press calender while holding middle selection key: align screen...

How to change S710 numeric keyboard?

Hello,
My s710 keyboard is in bad shape. What I`m saying is that all the grey shinny color in the "end" and "answer" buttons is gone, and also these keys are broken near the light sensor (the part of the button, transparent, on top of the sensors that connects this buttons). So the buttons are now independent, if you know what I mean.
I am planning to buy this keyboard (the one for spv e650 because I like it more) and install it myself: http://cnn.cn/shop/orange-e650-black-keypad-p-3455.html
But the part is that I don`t know how, any ideas or tuts on how to replace my numeric keyboard?
Thanks!
I found the service manual, I`ll try to follow the indications there.
Wait! I bought the exact same keypad and you can't install it .. Its not the same as the one you have .. The e650 keys misses some small flips that will bound the keys to the pcb.. And then theres another problem.. The Keypad and the keypad pcb is connected with somekind of glue and its extremely difficult to do this yourself.. Believe me i have tried it and i gave up.. I ended up buying a device with broken screen and replaced the screen on that device with my own lcd instead as that is much easier..
Thanks for the reply! So I`d better go to a htc authorized service.

Wake up Topaz with front buttons

I've been searhing a week now, all the internet, all this forum, and i still can't believe nobody didn't need (or think) to wake the Diamond 2 with some other button then power button? I tried all that i found on this forum, like key remapper programs (they are really good programs and usi it), but they do not work when phone is in stand by. I'm using the phone also as navigator on motorcycle, so i have the phone in the transparent top pocket, and need to wake up the phone with front buttons. Is it inpossible? Before on omnia i had this possibility in control panel, but disapointed, that htc didn't make it? Hope someone has an idea how could be done this...or is it actually so simple, and i didn't figure it how? Please, someone help me, i like this phone a lot. I have the essential rom installed at the moment, if this help. Thanks.
have not tried it - but TD2 Tools has an 'Any Key WakeUp'-Option
changing HKCU\controlpanel\Keybd\DefaultKeyLock from 1 to 0
easy one!

Raphel Scroll Whell and Keys problem

Hi friends, I bought a HTC FUZE but I have some problems with my device....
1) the buzzer speaker didn't work but I send the FUZE to a repair center....they told me that the problem was the FLEX....they repair the flex and now the speaker works again....I'm happy with the result....but
2) After the reparation, the keys in front of the hone doesn't work propperly.....I mean the left, rigth, up, down keys and Home key, back key, send and end key......and the scroll whell doesn´t work frecuntly.....I will explain....when I press left key for example it goes to home screen when I press rigth key is like I press the end key...all keys are really wear....my question is....
Is this a flex problem????? I'm wondering if the people in rpair center damaged the flex...Thanks for your answers.
Sounds like they hav damaged the navicap, you will need to send it bk get it replaced
whats the navicap??? so the problem is not the flex??? Thanks for your answer.
The navi cap is the panel underneath the screen, it sounds like they have damaged it during the repair as you said it is registering but not the correct buttons, i sugest you contact them and ask them to replace it, or you could buy a new one online and replace it yourself, its quite a simple procedure, take a look at the wiki
