I've found "some" software that can backup "emails".
However, I'm not going to take a chance on it being litterally ONLY emails and not my SMS'es
Does anyone know of software that can definately backup contacts and messages?
Thx
SpriteBackup can BackUp Emails.. http://www.spritesoftware.com/
For SMS/Contact BackUp you can use Jeyo Mobile Companion: http://www.jeyo.com/companion.asp
re: JEYO...
I love you man, thank you very much. It's !!EXACTLY!! what I was looking for.

Hi, have you guys notice (to those who are using, who have used jeyo) that it cuts down / shortens a message when it reads from the pc, i think its only on to 160 characters and below are shown up. I wonder and this is my question.. is there a fix for that? I mean i have a couple of text messages who's 3-4-5-6 message lines. and i can't back it up. because if i was to use jeyo, it shortens it from 6 message line to 1!
could you guys suggest an alternative software which offers the same capablities with jeyo? Im really a fan of the app. but not in the back up and restore thing.. I need to back up over 5000 text messages and most of those messages are over the limit (meaning 2 and above message lines)
hoping for a response soon..
cheers and best regards,
If you just want to backup your messages, have you considered something like PIM Backup , or perhaps a commercial solution like SPB Backup or Sprite?
I use Jeyo, and love what it does, but it really isn't a very good backup solution. It is the only program I have seen like it.
Same here, i use Jeyo for sending SMS and tidying up contacts etc but for backup i use PIMBackup.
Hi
I have a Treo Pro with WM 6.1 but I think the standard SMS and e-mail SW on WM is quite boring to look at and to use so I need some recommendations to alternative SW that I could use.
Thanks for any tips!

Any updates? I too am looking for an alternative. Something (dare I say it) a bit more like the iphone sms
I guess there aren't any replacement messaging apps worth recommending then?
I have just lost all of my sms and email due to Resco backup not restoring them properly (the messaging app just doesn't work after a restore) so I'm looking for an alternate sms app that could use the restored data.
Any help appreciated.
Phil.
try Vito-SMS, SmileySMS or PocketCM
Does anyone know how to backup SMS messages on WM5 and restore them to WM6.1?
Here's the rom I'm using (Sprint/version 1.2) http://forum.xda-
developers.com/showthread.php?t=397134
I tried PIMBackup it can backup and restore the messages fine on WM5 but it can't restore them to WM6.1. I do notice that it seems to have a seperate SMS client rather than just using "Messaging" like WM5 did, maybe that's why it won't work?
It's strange, a few will show up then stop. If I delete some of those a few more will come up. If I soft reset a few MIGHT come up.
It seems to be random, I can get anywhere from 10 to 100 to show up after a restore.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Kenny
I think I got it, don't know how...
I decided to try "SMSBackup" to look at the app I ran a backup on WM6.1.
And it backed up all my messages.
When the backup was complete my phone was counting up messages.
Up to 160 right now....
backup
Pimbackup is the simplest tool. find the attached enjoy more than you needed
Thanks for the reply that was actually the first thing I tried.
But I couldn't see the messages after the restore. It caused the behavior above.
With SMSBackup I can now see my inbox.
Still nothing in my Sent Items, but I don't really care.
Funny thing is if I do a backup it backs up all my sent items.
I guess it's just some more buggy palm software.
Thanks,
Kenny
For a "tragic" mistake I deleted the SMS account from my smartphone Eten X500 with win mobile 5.1.422.
By doing so are now unable to send and receive SMS.
I can not find any indication about the possibility of recreating this SMS account.
Can someone help me?
Thanx
I think that if you take a backup(with sprite or spb backup), hard reset and after restore from the backup, it could be restrore the sms account.

Hello,
I wonder if there exist a way to backup and restore my sms from my good ol' Diamand to my future android device ?
Some of them are precious to me...
You can use this . It's free and does excellent job. I use that also. I am sure there will also be other solutions out there but you can try that if you want. With this you can transfer contacts, sms, call log or any of those
Thanks a lot !!
Seems easy to use, will try it !
