I just got my Qtek S200 and the speaker volume when hearing ringtones or using the speaker phone is really quiet. Does anybody know of a way to up the gain on this to get more volume out of it?
So was mine when I first got it. I found that when I did a hard reset and didn't install any of the extras from the extended ROM that my volume seemed much much better. Could be coincidence but I have to turn it down sometimes now and before I was straining to hear.
Thanks Rick.
Can you walk me through what you did, to do this? I would really appreciate it.
Simple solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=41273&highlight=vol+volume+fix
I set the uplinks volumes in the first HKLM\Software\HTC\AUDIOGAIN(x)\ key to 56 and now everything's fine. I truely don't understand how HTC could have set it to 16, i had to use a handsfree before to understand anything while speaking outdoors...
Sorry, I didn't understand because I found in Hkey Local Machine - Software - HTC folder four Audiongain names.
Audiogain
Audiogain0
Audiogain1
Audiogain2
In wich one? Tahnk you in advance.
Ringtone volume
Hello,i have an spv m600 by orange ( same as qtek s200 ) and i try to change value in audio gain because when i receive a call, the sound is too low.I put differents values in audio gain but nothing change.I think speaker setting volume may be located in an other key in the registry. Can someboby help me ? Thanks.
Marcdu81,France.
I find the solution.Don't touch audio gain but HKEY current user/controlpanel/soundcategories/ring : put 5 in initvol and speaker.Repeat the same at HKEY current user/controlpanel/soundcategories/ringpreview.

hi friends really thx for it
but i could'nt find HKEY/ current user thing...
where can i change the settings?
thx for ur help
Hey, xebx, I don't think these guys are reading your post. You asked a simple question but none is answering it, even though it appears they know what to do. I am in the same boat with you but we gotta wait until some really patient "expert" takes time to explain how to get to the HKEY\current user thing....[/quote]
Worked for me.
Thanks
You need a registry editor to do the job, resco file explorer has such a registry editor and can do the job very well. For me it worked
I changed the values but it did nothing for me
Any ideas ?
Low Volume
Neither of any help for my Jamin
Neither of any help for my qtek s200..
Follow the registry steps and work fine on may S200. Also can you notice the improvement in your BT Headset.
Thanks a lot.
Initvol registry keys {HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPannel\Sound Categories\Ring} only changes default level ringing tone. Same way you do with volume regulator on your device.
You can notice when you change intvol parameter, your volume bar also changes accordingly and vice versa.
It is not much to do with improving ring volume
5 corresponds to 5 levels on a volume ring bar. Going above 5 does not really change volume
This is true for Qtek S200.

I am having a problem with the volume on my Treo 750. I would like to make the volume louder when I am on a call but I have the volume control at the max setting. I came across this link for the older treos: http://mytreo.net/store/product.php?xProd=165
Seems that there has to be a registry key that will "UP" the volume output from it's "stock" settings. Can anyone point me to the Registry key that I could tweak to do this? I just need to make the phone's earpiece louder so I can easier hear the other party while on the phone.
Thanks!!!
wow that's funny cause I just wanted to create a new topic with the subject "how to decrease the overall volume when on call"
with all the Treos 750 (I had 3) the volume was actually too loud when set on the lowest level.
So when somebody is speaking quite loud, it isn't so convenient, it's too loud.
But anyway - Hello Folks, does anybody know a reg-entry how to play with the volume when on a call?
this is what i did, it increased all my sounds
HKCU\Control Pannel\SoundCategories\incall Then change the value of AttenuationCategory from 4 to 1
note i did this to all the categories

thanks man!
you mean that reducing the value in registry results into increasing the volume? so in my case, I like to reduce the volume, I should incrase the value?

Thanks for the info, Mine was set to 2 when I opened the key. I changed them to 4, made a call, could not really tell a difference. Then changed to "1", made a call, I think it may be a little louder. Or it may be wishful thinking. I will leave this setting at 1 as I will be on the road tomorrow and make a few calls to see.
I changed both keys Attenuation as well as InitVol. They have beside them "(0x4)". Is this the possible value ranges available for that key? So if I am on 1 now, I could go to "0" which would be the max?
Thanks!!!
Nope. Does nothing.
Anyone else???
Did you Soft-Reset the phone after changing? That's what you have to do after every registry change I read somewhere.
Soft reset after every change. No change in phone's volume.

Hello Pluto,
the easiest way ist to install Total Commander Pocket and then to browse through the registry.
Get TotalCMD here:

Mine was set at 2 also. I think it is louder now but I am inside and that is a worthless test. I will have to test it tomorrow when I am outside.
Thanks for the help.
is there any Free Volume care?[
Hey all,
First of all, I want to thank everyone here for the wonderful tutorials. On my first try with very little experience modifying mobile phones, I was successfully able to upgrade my 8125 to the latest TNT Professional release, and am loving it!
A minor annoyance for me is when I change the volume of the device... The default sound 'notification' that plays when the volume is changed is so stinkin' loud on the louder volume levels. Is there any way to change the notification sound, or even disable it all together? Thanks!
Same here. I'd love to shut this sound off, I swear that I read somewhere about some registry settings that need to get tweaked, but I didn't find it after one hour searching... Could someone be so kind and help me (us) out?
Thanks in advance!!
Greets,
Andreas
Replacing sounds
My so-far-fail-safe method is to replace the sound file.
1. in My Documents (or wherever but not /windows), make a copy of a wav you want to use (quieter, or even silent)
2.rename the copy of the happy wav to the name of the icky wav (you get to find out which wav it is, or maybe someone else can offer that)
3. move it to \windows, overwriting the old
In rom it doesn't necessarily actually overwrite, but it's enough to fool the system into using the sound you want. Same with 2nd splash screen.
I figure it's easy enough to be worth a try, anyway.
still have this issue on Wm6.5 energyrom phoenix 2
I cannot disable the volume change sound.
Tried looking for wav files, tried using advancedtweak (And other tweak programs).
I can only get them to shut off when in a call. I want them to be disabled forever. Any solution ideas
Hi,
When browsing the HD2 forums (I'm gonna get one in a few days, yay!) I found this:
75. Disable Beeps When Altering Volume
When you press the volume key you getting annoying beeps. This tweak allows to change the volume silently without the beeps.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Volume\Mute Change from 3 to 1.
It worked on my TP and on also on my Wizard (running WM6.1) aldo the initial setting for Mute was 7. Setting it to 1 did do the trick though.
Cheers,
/Cacti
Yeeeeeeeeeeeee finally! It works!

Hi Guys,
I find the volume is too soft when the phone is switched to a speaker mode. Anyone knows how to change it ? the System and Ring volume bar is already at max.
I used to owe an Omnia...but sold it off because i hate the touch keypad.
Omnia has this code *#0002*28346# that can change all the speaker, earpieces and ring tones.
Does TP has similar code ?
Look for solutions...thanks

I think there is no resolution for low speaker/headphone voice level yet...
yeah no solution as yet...
The sound volume is also a bit lower, that I am using normally(another HTC devices descibed below). I was all the time very happy with HTC's loudness, but Raphael is really too silent. Only one solution now I see, turn on speakerphone mode and turn the device around.with the display outside. So you can call also in discobar.
Sad..Sad...

Guys there is a way to edit the registry on a touch pro to make the volume louder, I had it on my old touch pro, but I just had to get a new one from the insurance company. As soon as I find it I will post it here
I just got my Fuze a couple of days ago, and noticed how much lower than my tilt the speaker volume was. I was ok with it, but is nice to hear someone has a reg hack for bringing the volume up on it. I'll be waiting for this post!
HKLM/Control Panel/Volume AND HKLM/Drivers/Speaker both potentially affect volume
or try this cab, it should work, havent tested it tho
On GSM devices, there is a set of AudioPara*.csv files which are normally found in the kitchen OEMDrivers folder - the contents end up in the .\Windows folder as hidden files). Use the device File Explorer (show hidden/system files) to confirm that AudioPara*.csv files exist on your CDMA device.
1) If they do exist, search the XDA forum using these keywords:
Arup Audio Boost CAB
2) If they do not exist, a CDMA chef may be able to offer some insights on how volume levels are handled for CMDA devices ... afaik, should be the same.
Using a registry editor, search for the .CSV file(s), it will yield the registry key that may need to be changed if you wish to point to a different .CSV filename in case you wish to return to the default file without resetting your device. In all cases, be cautious, tweaking the AudioPara to extreme ranges can damage the device or your hearing.
HTH,
Hello i got my PPC from 2 days. Its a copy of HTC 3G T3232 , but when im making a call i hear the other guy low. I meen the volume is low. And the other thing is that he can hear hes voice too but with some delay. I think this isnt normal and now i want to find if its from the phone. And are there any tips for increasing the volume of the call? I think there should be some regg tweak's for this, and for the other problem im not so sure. So can anybody give me a hint and a good regg editor or tell me how to edit them. After all im new to win mobile and this isnt like a standart windows run>regedit
Welcome to the forum
Do a search for an app called SRS Wow it increases the general volume
Good luck,
ADJUSTING/INCREASING RING VOLUME
1. Advanced - Registry Edits
a. Get out your favourite registry editor.
b. Navigate to HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring
c. Change InitVol DWORD to 5 or higher. THIS ONLY INCREASES RINGTONE VOLUME
Alternatively if you want to increase the INCALL volume you just need to do the following:
b. Navigate to HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\InCall
c. Change InitVol DWORD to 5 or higher.
WARNING: Don't change anything you aren't sure about.. if you really want to change it then BACK IT UP FIRST! >_<
2. Use the SRSWOW Driver.
Install the SRSWOW_HD Driver for your PDA and increase sliders until you're content. (usually 3D and Focus increase the volume). BTW i attached the SRSWOW_HD Driver..
PS: I take no responsibility for any damage you do to your device.
PPS: If you have any further questions about this or the Atom Life.. PM me.
Cuz of SRS wow i have done a hard reset, cuz of the program my tuch screen wasnt working. Btw some1 know something about the echo, i meen when i talk with other ppl they can hear their voiceses too..
I have a T-Mobile Shadow which I have just upgraded to WM6.1 with a rom from Erofich and it's great. Problem is the startup sound is really loud. Is there any way to silence the WM6.1 startup sound? It appears to be standard htc sound, so is there a file I can replace with a silent or different sound file?
Any help would be appreciated.

I tried installing Advanced Config as suggested but the program won't launch properly. Is that possibly because the phone doesn't have a touch screen? If so does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks
here you go... replace your BootUpHTC.wav (no sound).
extract it in your phone's Windows folder.

Thank you very much, silenced that dreadful racket! I had to go back to XP and Activesync to get it to copy into the Windows folder though. Got access denied messages when I tried using MSDC on Win7.
