simple and easy trick if you have the following
1) Winxp pro installed on ur Desktop
2) Terminal client on ur xda.
3) be crazy enough to operate your PC from your XDA
First of all turn on the remote desktop function on your win XP OS
1) system properties -> remote ->
allow users to connect remotely to this computer (note down ur computer name* which is visible under this remote option tab to use within ur LAN wifi range)
2) user account must have a password to log on remotely
3) Check ur PCs IP address and enable DMZ on ur Wifi router or follow the port forwading rules to direct the incoming trafic from ur ISP to ur computer which you like to operate remotly (only for users who wants to work out side from their LAN or wifi router) read more about port forwarding here http://www.homenethelp.com/web/explain/port-forwarding-dmz.asp (Warning Proceed with caution as enable DMZ would expose all ur ports to the internet)
IF Your XDA and your desktop PC is connected to the same Wifi router (LAN users) start terminal client on ur XDA and type your computer name* which you found under the system properties tab and press conncet
ELSE
start terminal client on ur XDA and type your WAN IP address which u can find on the router configuration menu (enter default gateway address (you can find it under network connection status) on ur internet browser to access router config menu)
Good Luck

Scenario:
Have you been in a situation where no cable, no wifi router available to do a file transfer? The only thing you got, is the Android phone and your Windows PC?
Solution:
Tested on Sensation ICS. Now you can with only these apps:
- Samba Filesharing (available in Google Play)
- Wifi Hotspot (Portable Wifi Hotspot)
Steps:
-Configure Wifi Hotspot, Menu > Advanced > LAN settings and setting as follow:

Happy File Transfer~
If your on wifi you can also use es file explorer to navigate your pc folders and copy to or from it by simply browsing for wireless devices and when prompted entering your windows name and password.
This then lets you do any file actions on or between both devices.

Hi guys,
I guess point form will be easier
1- I use my android phone as wify hotspot
2- My PC is using that network to access internet. In this case, utorrent downloading.
3- Already set up a port in utorrent (Lets say 12345)
Q1) How do I forward a port in android phone for utorrents use ?
Q2) Which port my android phone is using to access internet ? (is it 8080 ? )
When I am using a router, I have configured 12345 open port and its working superb fine
http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/adc8/a45o8p39pc6hhfpzg.jpg
Heres what I did so far
[Method 1]
Using Port Forwarder
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.bherbst.net&hl=en
i) After connecting to Android Phones network I ran cmd and "inconfig" ed
Lets say Ip is 192.168.1.2
ii) In Port Forwarded -> Settings -> Ip Settings -> Target IP
Set as "192.168.1.2"
Public Interface - wlan0 (I have no idea what that means)
iii) And set ports
Incoming ports in this [Android] device : 8080 (is it right ?)
Port in target device : 12345
Protocol :- TCP
But when I checked in utorrent. It is not being forwarded :/

What do I do now ?
But one day I got it right (without Port Forwarder app). But I could never do it again
Device : LG Nexus 5 with latest Android
Rooted : Yes
PC:- Surface Pro Windows 8 Pro 64bit
Just do a port forward on your router through your computer to your phone's local IP adress.
Using router and phone as a wify Hotspot are two occasions.
I didn't get what you said
Hello,
I have a Samsung S7 egde with stock ROM. I can surf via WLAN through the internet, but it is not possible to connect to any devices within my LAN. Neither my NAS storage nor my air conditioning system. I have installed a network tooling app and test some pings. I can ping the phone itself, which show that the local network stack works. I can also ping the router. I´m using a fritzbox for a while. Any other components can talk to each other. The S7 have the same profile like any other smartphones and tablets within my LAN, but it is not possible to connect to any devices in the network. The problem is when I use ES Datei Explorer or any wifi sync, the S7 can not find my NAS storage.
I use the latest firmeware on the S7 (6.0.1) and on the fritzbox (6.51)
Are three any configurations on the S7 I need to adjust?

iggi13
I use ES File Explorer to connect to my NAS
I go to the Network section > LAN > Add IP of the router (NAS is connected directly to router via USB) and dir manually and tick the 'Anonymous' login box
That's all I need to do and it adds a shortcut to the NAS in the network section
Domain = Empty
Server = IP of router /dir of NAS
Username/Password empty
Anonymous = Checked
Display as = NAS
Hit OK

Hello,
Thanks for your response. The problem isn't Es Datei Explorer. I think there any restrictions in Android OS or in the fritzbox. Any other apps, that want to connect to local components within my network, failed...
Any ideas?
Obviously the restrictions are not with Android or I wouldn't be able to do it
