Softick Card Export II for Pocket PC turns your Pocket PC and Windows Mobile PDA into USB flash drive.

Holy crap, this is nice.
But trial version? Please make sure you mention things like this =]
But yeah, installed, tested great. Puts a little icon in your "System Tray" to select between "Activesync" and "Card Reader".
Works on my Magician, connecting to XPSP1 machine. Yes, it had to install drivers but the drivers were native so in about 10 seconds I had access to my SD Card.
Did a quick file transfer test - MUCH faster than Activesync.
This might save me having to carry my card reader everywhere, despite the fact that the cable doubles as my Magician charger ;D
Now check this
change your owner name to
Dcs [RCAPDA]
then see what happen
Haha, thanks, but I've already fixed that little problem ;D
No go with the latest Qtek rom.
It say's you will have to download the newest USB driver ?!?!?
I discoverd that this one is for WM2003, downloaded the one for wm2005 but won't work either.
Lets see if there is an update some day.
Cheers,

on the download site

there are three downloads
1. ZIP Microsoft Windows Installation (English)
2. CAB package for Windows Mobile 2003 (English)
3. CAB package for Windows Mobile 2005 (English)
first one ZIP is ver 2.21
others are ver 2.11
try the zip
and they say
We are permanently developing support for the new devices. Tell us what device support do you need.
try it hope you get some luck
hay Jed D`Lagged tell me the secret
next time i will be careful to mention about trial versions
Unfortunately, it seems only to function in Read-only mode on WM2005, and quite slowly too. (at least on my himalaya)
You can make your phone a USB drive without extra software. I have read that it can be done. Havn't done it yet with my 6700, but did with my 6600 but cant remember how I did it
The WM5 one works a treat on my Universal and Wizard. Or rather,it did untill I upgraded the roms to direct push capable ones. Now I have to disable direct push and kill activesync before switching the card export to 'export' mode. Irritating but still quiet usable.
If you're worried about the trial version you could alway, er, buy it! It's cheep!
USB mass storage driver
i dont know what is this & what will it do ?
USB mass storage driver is free for personal use
http://www.deje.gmxhome.de/software.html
... wrong way around. That installs a driver that let's you plug USB thumb drives into your PocketPC.
Although... I don't know any Pocket PC devices that have a USB Slot A connection?
The Fujistu-Siemens Loox (older model) had a USB host.
Thanks
Thanks
an alternative freeware which seems to work nicely on Himas (can't speak for rest)....

Hey guys, i found this USB mass storage program WM5torage.
It seems to works with WM5 properly. Give it a try. Guess there's no need to use Softick anymore
Works perfectly with my Wizard! I mean i can see the drive. Though never tried to write to it yet. Should be working fine i guess.

It's ok to post a link to another forum rite?

No way... don't work at my wizard!
Hi guys,
I don't have a card reader, so I would like to know if I can copy files from my PC and paste them into my mini-SD, because I can't do that with ActiveSync !!
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Search for a program called WM5 Storage and install that on your device. It makes the computer think it's interfacing with a SD reader so that you can copy back and forth like you can with activesync

Yes! But a large file ( aprox. 900MB ) gave me a redundance error. I'll try again today.
By the way, I think that this software came already bundled in the latest Ax3l ROM !!! eventhough, thanks for your kindness words and support !

Well... my previous comment refered working in windows XP. Unfortunately, I'm getting to even a more solid conclusion that Windows Vista is really a pain. There's a lot complicated things ( or I'm a really hass *ole ); specially in recognizing my miniSD card of P3600, the P3600 itself. I had problems installing Windows Mobile Device Center in vista too. GRRR. Even my brand new external hard drive Lacie 500GB USB 2.0 is asked to install drivers. Even if install them... every time I logon into Vista it asks for drivers... !! I'm starting being tired of Vista issues. I will make a dual boot and that's the end of story.
Sorry about this last comment. But I needed to ...
Hi,
I was able to use the USB HDD function on a HTC Universal device. Since moving onto Polaris I have lost that functionality. Now I have seen Sony Experia X1 with Windows 6.1 which has the same function in the Settings> Connections> USB to PC with an option to select either Active Sync or USB Disk Drive.
Is it possible for one of our great mods to extract this function and make it a part of the cooked Roms or as a stand alone cab?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Ciao
How about installing a wm6.1 rom?
Also it an USB Mass Storage Device, not a HDD... atleast I don't know about anything even remotely similar to a Hard Disk Drive in the polaris...
Polaris under 6.1 has no such option (mass storage device).
It has USB to PC, and there's only Advanced network functionality...
So it's an experia specific function... there are always alternative apps to do this
try using softick card export. works perfectly for me

Thanx mate, softick does it.
But can the mods extract that experia function to cook in Polaris Roms or Polaris is not capable of this function due to hardware software limitation.
Ciao
hey
i've a realy big problem
yesterday ive started copzing educkys map to vox via active sync (yesterday 13°°(germany) now its 8°° and its still not finished!
there are "only" 2.2gb to transfer yes its still transfering!
what on hell can i do making it faster
i already have an cardreade rbut i lend it to a friend so ive to use active sync.
Ofcourse you can try wm5torage. It makes your vox a cardreader. This way you don't have to use AS.

WM5Storage is even slower than Activesync
Why making such a fuzz about AS or WM5storage? The USB hardware on most HTC phones can only cope with the slowest speed for USB. My experience is that WM5torage is about double the speed of AS and AS varies if in RNDIS or Serial mode. Fastest write I get on my Vox is around 300kB/sec (and 700kB/sec at read) for large files. If you have to transfer a lot of data (like your 2.2 Gig), just pull out the microSD (hey it is hot-pluggable!), put it in a card-reader and load it via this. My 8GB class6 Sandisk microSD came with a tiny reader and that writes at a speed of 10MB/sec. I never have the patience to do this via AS or WM5torage.
Is there any way nueMassstorage can be ported to Vox? Asking all the Genuses here (not mere dumb users like me ). It gives awesome speed!
The slowth is caused by the hardware, not the software.
Use a decent cardreader instead.
No software will bring the HW to speeds it cannot support. Follow up the WM5torage thread at MoDaCo. Some (very few) devices have both, capable USB Hardware and a decent USB driver in firmware that allows to exploit the full HW speed. Otherwise buy a tiny microSD cardreader for 5$ and enjoy speeds you never seen before...

The Gene and Vox has almost the same hardware, but the difference of speed is quite remarkable between WM5Storage and nuemassstorage, BTW I have used both the software in the Gene and confirmed it.
Hello All,
I recently bought my first smartphone here in Beijing. It's a dopod D805; I hope to upload media to it from my Vista-loaded PC.
The problem is Vista doesn't seem to recognize the device. I downloaded Windows Mobile Center (sorry if I've got the name wrong) but it doesn't seem to do anything. The CD that came with the device doesn't work (it keeps telling me to install Flash 8.0, which seems to imply the software on the disc was designed for pre-Vista systems).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Update:
The phone seems simply not to work on Vista. I am now dual-booting XP alongside Vista, and have had much more success using XP and Activesync.
A new newbie question:
I cannot copy files (music, PDFs) from my PC's HDD to the phone's drive. Each time I try I am told there is not enough free space on the drive. This is absurd, as there is nothing on the drive other than what came on it, and the files I'm trying to copy are quite small. What gives?

Welcome to the forum
Have a look in the Wiki here:

Hope it helps,
Thanks for the response.
I checked that page before posting, but it doesn't seem to have much beyond the specs for my model.
All I want to do is install Pleco, and upload some MP3s/PDFs. When I plug the device in, I get the "bing bong" sound, but no new HD appears in My Computer. Since I'm running Vista, I can't use the bundled Activesync software.
Help?
i dont know if this will help but i cant sync my phone with xp unless i set my firewall to allow all.
if you go to my computer and look at your drives, does it not show you phone there as F: or whatever?
Right, it doesn't show a new drive. Note that I'm running Vista, not XP. I'm in the process of getting a dual-boot setup going, but I'm not there yet. Very frustrating.
