Very nice! Is it possible to get this to react to the Speed Dial softbutton on the phone app?
It could be done but I think it would require some clever coding like Mamaich's contacts button hack. Unlikely to be worth the significant work involved I think...
V
OK, I hoped it was a simple registry hack...
i can't run this app on Qtek s110 (WM2003)
is it possible or not???
Speed Dial order by last name?
Hi,
is there any way to make Speed Dial order the entries by last name?
Or more...is there any chance to search by company..maybe nickname...
tnx,Luka
It's not my app, it does just what it does. It might be possible to reprogram such an app, but it's not a very small job to do
V
how to create a link to this program?
I love this program: I installed it on my MDA (T-Mobile USA) and it works fine. My problem is how to create a link so that I can activate it fast. It doesn't show in the Programs, it doesn't show in the Items setting, nor in the Menus setting, nor can it be associated to any button. Any suggestion?
Thank you, Paul.
Drop the file somewhere, eg in your storage card or \windows\ or wherever.
Use a good file manager like gsfinder.
Navigate to the file, make a shortcut and drop the shortcut in your \windows\start menu folder. Then you can launch it using a hardware button or start menu as normal.
If you get stuck, I'll make a cab.

Got it!!!

THANK YOU!! i FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS, and it worked out! I am learning a little more every day!! Now I can very much say, I MUST SAY ACTUALLY, that this MDA is better than the fujitsu loox T830 that is sitting on my desk, freshly bought for more than $800.00. What else can I say?.....

Give me the Fujitsu and we'll call it quits, !
Glad it worked. I've got ideas for a better speed dialler, but it'll have to wait for a while. But the eten one isn't too bad for big thumbs.
V
PS I do accept donations btw, if you're serious. Look at my sig... but no pressure, even though I know where you live... pwnage
Can you believe that I just found out that in USA we have a differente UMST frequency and therfore the t830 will not pick the 3G network!! I am sending it back to the store!! It is anyway a great phone, but: 1) too big 2) the keyboard takes too room compared to a Treo for example 3) and if they fit the keyboard in a smaller room they could have put a 240x320 screen, which I really miss. The GPS is really cool, but you need to buy software. I don't know about the video calls because it was not possible to make them because of the 3G problem. I am extra happy with the MDA anyway!! I will wait for the T830 US version I guess, but the MDA is still better because smaller, bigger keyboard on demand, bigger screen....
thanks for this great log

Hello guys,

Thanks but I thought an Iphone.cab like Tyn one.
I'm newbis and it's seems so difficult for me to install it
And i am french
Oh I dunno about any iPhone themes.. Personally, I dont like the way the iPhone looks.. I prefer making my own themes via WAD and WA2

Ok, I was very curious to see if it would work on a wizard. It seems to, but it's kind of slow. I haven't really configured it though.
It definately works.. I just installed it, heres some screen shots..

I have to figure out how to get the phone button to work.. but other than that.. it's great
It runs a LITTLE slow, not to bad though, and you can close it by tapping the battery icon.
So this will make your phone look like the iphone? does it work with WM5?
It made my phone look like the iphone, the good thing is its an application so u can close it out.. it should work with WM5.. I dont see why it wouldn't..
So does it work well, like is it slow or fast and is it buggy and stuff?
Its a little choppy... I dont overclock, so.. maybe it's better if you overclock.. the only choppy thing is when you select a program it takes a couple seconds for all the icons to disappear...

you can change that in the Config app, just click right soft button in the app, go to settings, then i believe pop up or something like that, the 3rd one down, then scroll the bar al lthe way to the left and hit set and you'll be good! Also, if you look in the orignal iphone theme thread or one of the threads that listed the numerous parts of the .cab, you can activate the phone by linking it to a cprog.exe file and it'll work fine especially for the dial pad not lining up correctly otherwise pretty nice, especially if overclocked
btw
i'm using a tmobile wing/ herald
Do you have to setup the buttons manually or does it do it automatically? Plus what is the issue with the dialpad? and can u just use the regular interface if this one doesnt work?
Ok I just installed it to my storage card? what do i do know, nothing came up and i dont have anything in my programs folder to launch?
Do a soft reset
it is ok for me to install it to the storage card right? or does it have to be device memory? because after installing it, my phone is not loading after a soft reset its stuck at the splash screen.
Install it to the device.
ok i uninstalled it from my memory card and im gonna reinstall it to the device memory. Maybe that will work. cause when i installed it to the memory card a lot of the icons and shortcuts didnt work.
Alright most stuff is working, but when i click phone it doesnt come up? how can i fix this. i read the earlier post but dont get what it means. Also is there a way to make the 24hr clock to a 12hr clock?
All is in the title...
Try to install the WM 2003 alpha version 1.02b of PointUI Home.
And you will see the difference !
For all frenchies, a french version is avalaible here (cab all in-one, simplified installation !).
some screenshots?
look in this thread:
http://forums.pointui.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=707
The screenshots above are some ideas for new features to the program. I installed this program; it is simple and nice User Interface. Very well done and the best thing is that is totally made for WM2003. My Magician is another phone now. Some minor bugs that I consider acceptable for an Alpha release. I think it is worth to try. Things that I like: Lock when turn on device, "Touch like" navigation, Turn on Bluetooth just when the Phone Rings and Off automatically when you hang up, nice call history list. Things to be improved: New Dial Pad Skin, Messages and Contacts List like the call history list, On the Running Applications; it could give you the option to Stop them. Just waiting for new releases with improvements for this nice work.
See your love on it !
Good evening magician guys,
just some (little) news about .ui...
How to change the PointUI Home Background ?
>>> WARNING : IT ONLY WORKS WITH WM2003 OR VGA 1.02b ALPHA RELEASES !!! <<<
Thanks to tweakradje to give us this trick
1. Choose any picture (jpg file) you want to put on .ui Home background
2. Rename this file bg.jpg
3. Copy this file in the Home folder (by default) : \Program Files\PointUI\Home\1.02b\
4. Stop and re-start PointUI Home
5. Enjoy !
Just show you my magician revival !

Hi guys,
I've made some work to adapt the WM2003 Slither's SCLPC++ cube for PointUI
This is the WM2003 version (SCLPC++ 0.4) => only for WM2003 users !
Avalaible in Blue...
Or in Black...
You can download it in this thread
Enjoy !
MonteCristoffOn how did you get touchFlo to work on wm2003se?
Regards
Hi madsurfer,
You don't need TouchFlo on your device to use this cube.
To launch it quickly, I'm using a hardware button which point to the link Cube SCLPC++.
Wow..just gave my Jam a new life. Very impressive!
Yeah with this tool my "little old pda" kicks real ass! Great work - I'm looking forward to getting a beta/final release but I'm completly fine with this one, too!
Greetz, Mike.
Couldn't you make a cab for other languages too, i looked in the PointUI forum for german, but that was only there for version 1.5
ok guys here my first contribution to the forum, this is a custom slim down 6.1 chome panel credits go to NRGZ28 he made the discovery on how to change the Height and Width of the chome 6.1 panels i just change the values to comfort our 240x320 device's resolution and also i changed the Height and Width of the music and photos icons as they were to big and came out of the panels and they lookt pretty bad so i fix that ^^.
How to install
1.download "rafy_vitto's_custom_6.1_slim_panels.zip"
2.go to setting/home screen change your layout to "windows simple"
3.connect your phone to the pc sync it with active sync go to your windows folder look for the file "CHome_240x320.cpr" make a back up of it(drag and drop it anywhere on your pc).
4.unzip my file and extract the custom "CHome_240x320.cpr" and drag and drop it into your phones windows folder.
5.now go to setting/home screen and change your layout to sliding panel. and thats it your done.
hope you like it and please fell free to ask me any question il be more than happy to answer them ^^

good work. They look pretty nice. Great option for portrait devices
One suggestion, move the date to top of panel instead of hanging off and will be perfect.
here you go mate , tell me if you like it, and btw here's a landscape version
I like this, it looks real slick.
One problem: it lets text drop off the panel in my calendar pane if the location text is too long and wraps to a second line.
But other than that, good work!

When I try to replace this file with the slim panel file, I get a permissions error. Tried a registery unlocker and I still get the same thing. What else do I have to do to edit this file?
Move it using Resco or Total Commander.

tried with total commander, still get same permissions error. i have a sprint q9c, maybe they are locking that down in some other way
I have the same problem with a Motorola Q9h (AT&T). Total Commander brings up the same error in Vista that Windows Explorer does and Resco Explorer on the phone says I can't delete the file because it's in ROM!
VGA Patches for Microphone, Power, WLan Mgr, & WModem for X7510 using Real VGA 96dpi
VGA Patches for X7510 using Real VGA.
1.....Download the attached files.
2.....Transfer the files to your SD card or Flash Disk.
3.....Use Total Commander or any file manager to transfer the files in the Windows folder to replace the original files.
4.....Once all is done, SOFT RESET.
Enjoy!
X7500 and X7501 models can also use the files as long as they rename the attached files similar to the files from the Windows folder prior to transferring them to make sure it will overwrite the original files.
To revert back to the original files, just delete them and then soft reset.
In New York with x7510
I'm in New York on the first day of a week without notebook computer. I've managed to download and install the WLANMgr file directly to the x7510, wihout the use of a PC sitting in the middle. Thank you cktlcmd.
I've now got the Real VGA set to 96dpi and am viewing XDA site in full format on a 3G connection which according to DSLReports speed test is averaging between 700 and 800 kbs. That is a much better speed than iBAHN which is offered in the hotel - between 200 & 280 kbs.
Keyboard is great (although I'm no touch typist). Let's see how the week goes when some e-mails etc. start to roll in!
Once again let's push for a separate 7510 section to the Athena forum. I'm sure that the smart guys & girls can make this baby go even better.
Don't forget the Comm Manager fix here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403692
How to replace the patches?
1. We don't have the rights to replace the patch since those files are ready only. How?
2. Can they fix the microphone issue of coming phone?

1. NO, these are cosmetic patches only. You can use Total Commander to replace them. They came from the HTC Universal. Personally, I only use the WLAN and WModem patches since those 2 look garbled in Real VGA at 96 dpi. With these patches, at least they look better.
2. I don't have any microphone issues on mine.
thank you fpr shere~~~
I am still very happy with the contacts scrolling interface called 'htc random access'.
Is that working again with the new Real-Vga Patches?

It is the grey alphabetical selection-field on the right side that is
much easier than the grey scroll one.

No, it is not working on mine (setting 96 dpi). I use the keyboard anyway, I just type the beggining letter of the name and suggestions starts appearing.
I hate touching the screen.

Sorry don't have one.
From the first day i got my KAISER (HTC TyNN II) i had this issue with long contact names. Here is a print screen of what i am talking about:

}
The call status screen (the screen you see when you are involved in a conversation with someone or while waiting for a call to be established) seems to be designed for short names only. I saw this problem with standard windows dialer, diamond lookalike dialer (L26 ROM) and now with HyperDragon III OPAL ROM.
Over 50% of my contacts have long names so it is really frustrating for me not being able to see the whole contact name.
I managed to binary edit the phcanrc.dll shipped with L26_KaiserDiamond_V9 build (diamond lookalike dialer) and increase the contact info custom control width for the call status dialog and i was happy about that.
I installed HyperDragon III OPAL the last night and the overall impression was good, but then i got into the same problem: the call status window hasn't got enough space to display long contact names. I tried to binary edit phcanrc.dll shipped with HyperDragon ROM, but those dialog resources are a big mess, impossible to edit (i'm guessing they do a lot of runtime control adjustment).
My real question is: does anyone have any idea how to change that dialog in order to get more contact name space? I saw that they have a lot of registry keys related to the phone dialogs, and you can change the font name/size for the buttons (END CALL button, for example), but i didn't find any registry key that would allow me to make the font size smaller or (better) make the whole control bigger (maybe move it above contact picture and make it equal to screen width).
Try using HTC_KAIS_PHONE_CANVAS_1_50_30437_0_888 from eOS extended pack. You can find it here.

And the purpose of doing so would be
this?!
Well, i don't have long contact names, so i don't have this problem. I thought that this dialer wouldn't cut long names because it has small font and enough space even when contact picture is available.
However, I don't see this as major problem because:
1) when you call someone, you know who are you calling because you selected it from your contacts
2) when someone calls you, you can use something like caller ID from S2U2 which shows long names (I can't test it right now, but as I can remember it works fine).
Sorry if this is not helpful.
