Hi, Im strarting this topic as Ive got a problem with my tomtom 5 and I wondered if anyone was having the same or could help me out  If anyone else is having issues they could post on this topic so we can bring all the advice and questions in one place.
Ok my problem, I had loads of issues with the bluetooth connection these now seem to be solved, now when I am using tomtom and either in a route or not the programme just closes for no reason it just goes back to the today screen. Ive reinstalled, hard reset and soft reset ... soft reset seems to work a bit but it still does it.
PLEASE can anyone give me any advice or are you having the same issues as me? one thing I have noted is that everytime I reload without doing a soft reset the tomtom Icon at the bottom moves slightly to the left next to the bluetooth icon.
Hope to hear soon
Thanks in advance

I have the same problem as you, it sometimes works fine, then does the same as you. from what i have read its a software fault due to the device having a vga screen or something and from what i have read it can also be dwon to tt5 using all the memory on the device then crashing out etc. Maybe they will relase a fix for it soon?.
CHeers, Were did you read this can you post the link ? I have nothihing in my programs on the pocket pc and it still does it... ! looks like they've got an issue with there software ....
Hi Guys,
I have been having excactly same problem. Initially i had a lot of problems with bluetooth. Seems to have been sorted out, god knows how.
But out of no reason TomTom exits and brings me to today screen. If i click TomTom icon again it starts and exits in 1-2 min. Only if i do a soft reset that it works a bit longer.
I am using qtek 1.11 rom.
Hope someone can come up with a solution.
Cheers,
Vishal
The problem is with the POI file. That is a comun problem. You have to take the POI.dat file from a tomtom 3 map and put ir in the map dir in TT5. All working perfect now. The only problem is that it isnt so recent and dont have the phone option. But now works
Wait for a better crack to come out. Or buy it.

I have TomTom loaded and it works fine with the GPS receiver only problem is the backlight switch's off so it is vry difficult to see the screen. As soon as you exit TomTom the backlight works.
Has anyone any ideas?

I am going round in circles here, can anyone help. TomTom will not install via ActiveSync, so I have done the usual copy of the cab files to the SD card and installed it from there....fine, until I try and install ttn.cab which is the main application. I keep getting a "Storage memory is critically low...." which is arse! If I try and install it via ActiveSync, It crashes and give a windows send error report.
I am running and XDA2 with 1.65b, Radio 1.18 Everything else works fine.
Anyone???
have you downloaded the 5.21 update from tomtom, you need this for WM2005
Are, no, if I do that, my machine starts asking for a product key....say no more! Looks like I will have to buy it.
I gotta say that I did not have this issue on my blueangel (and I have the no activation version too  ) but I have found this thread full of peeps who did but no longer do thanks to some guy who has figured it out.
I do have a problem where Tomtom crashes every 10 mins when connected to the bluetooth GPS making it unusable tho! Guess you can't have everyting tho
Any help on this one would be great!!!!

Hi,
Can anybody help me, i upgraded my xda II to WM2005 and installed TOMTOM 5 but now whenever i run TOMTOM the backlight switches off. As a workaround i can change the backlight settings with TOMTOM running, but this is a bit of a pain as you have to do it everytime.
Thanks for any help

This is a known problem, just go on buzzdev.net, and make a search on this, you will find either the way to apply the patch or the patch itself.

Dear everybody,
I have a MDA Vario (HTC Wizard) with Windows Mobile 6 and I am using Tomtom 6.010 for a couple of weeks now. I am very pleased with it... accept one little bug. To save energy I put my Wizard, with tomtom 6 active, now and then on standbymodus. For example when I am on the high way and tomtom has no futher instructions for lets say 80 kilometers. At a moment that tomtom wants to say something and I forgot to turn my Wizard on again, it will say nothing anymore. It still has a correct fix on the map, but won't give any (vocal) instructions. I have to close tomtom and again start it. Very annoying. Especially since I have speedcam POI's and tomtom talks instantly. I hope that somebody else knows a solution for this bug. Thanks in advance!
Greetings, Bart
