Is it possible to get my Xda Mini working with my O2 PAYG sim card? The standard settings don't work, and I'd be indebted to anyone who can supply settings that work, if this is possible.
TIA
unlocked it?
Yeah, unlocked it using the tool available on here - I think it's unlocked anyway, as I don't have anything but my O2 sim to try it with at the moment.
Sorry, I should have elaborated on this... it's for Internet access I want the PAYG sim to work... it obviously works fine for calls, as I have a O2 Sim anyway.

Hi, I've recently got an Xda2 and had all the fun of trying to get it to unlock. having followed all the info on the web and runnung an unlock program on the phone itself, I can insert my SIM, enter the code and all looks fine....but i'm unable to make or receive any calls. Also, I dont sem to be able to find any contacts. Very confused! The SIM works fine in my other phone?? Any words of wisdom would be very welcome at this time,
Many thanks in advance
maybe you could try to use another sim to see if the xda is incompatible with that sim cards it's not unheard off
OK.....this is a bit wierd. I've tried another SIM, still vodafone, but its about 2 years old. It works! Why? Whats the difference between my vodafone SIM and a 2 year old vodafone SIM?
ask vodafone i know that 3 made it so their sims only worked in utms phones maybe vodafone also found a way to block other phones
I can't make and receive calls. My Sim works well, because I tried in another phone and worked correctly. I can receive any service of my phone provider in this Xda, I can change of provider and happens the same
Could you help me?
Is your PDA locked to a provider other than the one you are trying to use?
Your Phone must be sim locked
Ask whoever you purchased your phone from if the phone is locked with any service provider. Once you know, you can try unlocking it yourself using the SimUnlock tool also available in this site. My XDA IIs was locked to O2, I had to unlock it using the unlock tool i found here, and it worked like a dream Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Loids
Hi, I tried to call using another provider and I had the same problem. I´m not sure what is happening. But when I use that SIM card in another phones It works perfectly. Do you Know if there is a bad configuration on this Xda??. In that case, Could you tell me what Could I do?
Thanks and Happy New Year
I've bought a Sprint PPC 6700 from USA (through the internet -used-) but I didn't know that it comes without SIM reader?! It's locked to Sprint Network only. When I bought it I thought that I can unlock it normally like any other PDA, but I surprised when I saw the SIM space empty without the holder?!
Is there anyone who can advise regarding this issue? I've opened it and saw that I can install a SIM holder but the problem now is how to disable the built in line (SIM)?
it´s a cdma device either it cant be with a gsm provider you cant install a sim

Hi there,
I have recently unlocked an XDA Orbit to work on any network which is great except it doesn't seem to recognise my network which is 3.
Apparently this is because my current phone that the sim is in is a Viewty which is video-calling capable but the Orbit isn't (no camera on the front?)
I was told i could obtain an old 3 sim card from the network themselves but they were very unhelpful to be honest, said they could issue me a new SIM card for £5 which may or may not work but it wont be guaranteed to work on a phone not 'approved' by them.
Can anyone help at all with some other advice? I will order the sim and try it but i was wondering if that doesn't work am i screwed? or is there another alternative?
Thanks.
hello
thought i'd share these as i haven't seen it post before, they are thin cards which you sandwich between your existing sim and phone, i've tested and they work with the E650
. Currently $4.13 delivered wordwide

Can anyone else confirm this or atleast say if the website is legitimate?
sound like turbo sim
no free unlock for vox yet
have a search in the other forums, other people on here must be using these too.
They work on alot of phones but not all. You have to cut a square out of the sim which is the problem.
I wasn't convinced at first but thought for $4 i'd give it a go, it works fine for call and texts but i'm not sure about gprs at the moment as i can't get it to work, i think maybe the 'unlocker' messes up the gprs authentication some how? not sure?
Is the problem with turbosim that it just doesn't work with the vox?
Thanks
Was doing some research on this item. I have some questions though.
If I use this to unlock the phone do I always have to keep it under my sim?
I read somewhere that there is an unlocker that can allow you to make free calls off your operator is that true?
