Check your PM, and also check in the thread again. I've got the fix in there, but you will need to change your registry. I've also posted the PHM Registry editor in that thread, so you can do this easily. Use the Registry Editor just like you would browse folders. Select the item to change, and change the value. It's very straight-forward. PM me back if you have trouble.

incoming call only rings not vibrate

When i select a rintone and set it to ring and vibrate it will automatic turn back to ring only.
What can i do to make it work?
I've got a htc touch pro, with wm6.1
looked in settings->phone
and set the ring type?
Í allready did that. i think i must do a tweak in the registry but i don't no where and what i must change.

No it should let you do it if not look in Diamond Tweak under 1.6 Ringtone and select it to ring and vibrate. Other than that what the Mod told you should do it, unless you have something else interferring...

Start-settings-sounds-sounds and notifications
Then navigate to sms notification and change to your desired sound
(sound file must be placed in Windows directory)
Hope it helped,

Thanks, but that doesn't work, I already tried that...
However I just found out using a Reg editor that the Outgoing SMS/MMS sound is being overruled by the general notification sound. So now I changed the general sound, it is working
Where did you change the general notification sound?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Notifications\Default

vibration duration?

I'm Running NATF v4.7 on my fuze and everything works great nice and speedy. The only question I have and this really isn't ROM specific I don't think, is there a way to change the duration of the vibrate when you get a new sms? I keep my phone on vibrate most of the day on my desk and the way it is now it's about a 8 second vibrate and its more of a ringtone then a quick alert.
~Thanks
have you looked into the sms notification in sounds and notifications in settings
to see what you can do with the settings there?
I have , all you can do from there is turn vibration on and off but not change how long it will vibrate.
I was also wondering the same thing. I just got my fuze the other day and first thing i did was flash NATF's 4.7 so i thought it was the device.. Do other roms not vibrate as long for a sms?
Also there are registry keys to edit the script of rings and alarms etc.. if we can find the one for sms we can tell if its fixable or not.
theres actually an app for this....its called VA alert and you can find it on blownfuze.org
Thanks for recommending that site, got some interesting apps on it. BUT VAlert (i think thats what you were referring to) only edits the ringtone script.
blownfuze.org said:
For incoming calls you definitely want VAlert1.21 (updated) by this guy which will let you customize down to the millisecond the pulsing patterns of the vibrator so that it gets your attention better than it otherwise would. I don't know if there's a similar thing for text and email but get this and subscribe to the thread for updates.

I searched through the registry and could not find a script for text messages.
Anyone that has used NATF's 4.7 rom and another rom, is the text vibrate duration the same, or shorter on other roms?

I've used about ∞ roms and so far with all of them they all have a long vibration for if you have the phone on any setting above just vibrate, and then have a three pulse vibration for if you have the phone set on just vibrate. I've also wanted to change this too a different setting, but unfortunately the closest thing thats ever came up is VAlert, and that doesnt deal with SMS . I've also looked in the registry, but I couldn't find anything
if you go to [HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\Ringtone0\] You have the String Value "Script" By default it is av0pw3r [a=activate, v=vibrate, 0, p=play, w=wait, 3 seconds, r=repeat]
So this tells the device when you get a call it should activate the device, vibrate 0 (continuoulsy, if it was 1, it would only vibrate for a second) play the ringtone, wait 3 seconds, then repeat.
I'm pretty sure VAlert is just so you don't have to edit the registry manually.
NOW to our situation, since "Ringtone0" is for incoming call ringtone, maybe we can manually add a new key that refers to the new message sound and manually add a script and see if that works? ANyone have any ideas what the device refers to for new messages?

Ringtone1? Ringtone2? Maybe the numbers are used to designate different types of incoming data

Did you change your manila language using bsb tweaks or chnging registry values? It's know issue and only known (to me) solution, is set the language to its original ROM language.
I have the same problem, mine does not even vibrates it started when i added a new ringtone to \windows\rings" tried to set it as new text message tone but could not find it on the list, put it back to its original tone and the problem started no sound for the new sms
i did not changed any thing related to language or any tweaks my phone rom is what came with it from factory added only the official hot fixes
plz help
I have the same problem, only I dont use any mods.
Problem Solved, xZdenis
I had changed the language on the registry, and now I put the old value on it and it sounds now...
I guess that I will wait until a Rom Update will be avaiable on French to change the language and do not have problems.
Thanks a lot for your help
Someone should seriously sum up all the issues which can/will occur when changing the language in Manila (HKEY\CU\MUI\CurrLang). Sucks.
Most likely, there will be a reference to 1033 somewhere that has to do with the SMS not being played, 1033 is the original language and when changed, the system wont find that specific key which has the languagecode which is entered under the above regkey.
[Edit]
Wasnt 1033, but maybe this one: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome\Settings\Ringtone\0409. Maybe create another key with your languagecode (in hex) and copy everything from 0409 to ex 041d (swedish). I havent tested because Im too fed up wiht all the issues that derive from changing the language in manila, but maybe someone could try it?
Have no idea on what "CHome" is, but it was the only reference to 0409 (except for the same key found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\CHome\DefaultSettings\Settings\Ringtone\0409) i could find... so its just a thought.

One of the most annoying WM feature!!

Maybe I am "stupid" or smthing... but if I compare my HD2 f.e my last company phone Nokia E71 there is one really annoying feature:
- If I want hear my opponent nicely I need to change volume quite high
That is not a problem but
- Is there a setting or cab so I could adjust only ringtone and/or alarm volumes?
It is really annoying that after call your ringtone is REALLY LOUD...
Ok I know that I could take those wav/mp3 whatsoever and trim/adjust them at mpr/wav editor and change level but changing ringtone/alarms/speaker volyme have been different at least ten years in symbian phones.
Don't get me wrong I hate symbian phones!!
maby this will help

you have a dubble volumme controll one for ring and one for system
Just go to your settings-tab. Choose "Sounds & Display" untick "one volume for everything" (dunno how that point is called exactly, sorry). Done!
Why don't you read the manual. You can find the answer there.

You're not alone
Hell Yeah... I've put these setting allready before but those settings (including voice mail number) doesn't seem to keep in memory after reset...
Anyway "Ringer" means only volume of the ringtone? And system is all the other sounds? (f.e. including alarm clock?).
Anyway there is only 2 ways to adjust volume (an not so much behaviour) --> I need to do something audiofiles itselves because I would like to:
- Ringer is ok (but I would like a possibility to first ring and after 2-3 secs + vibration), or increasing ring with vibration (that is not possible to choose have to modify mp3)
- System is more complex if ringer is only ringtone!? Because from my point of view I would like to separate system soundsa, alarms and so on from volume of speaker when I am speaking.
Now if I put high speaker volume I also get high alarms and other sounds... Do you get my points?
