I wann see running linux on the VPA compact.
Then i wanna buy a VPA compact for me.

Machine type 448 is HTC Himalaya - a different phone.
These 2.6.3 images are outdated anyway, even for Himalaya.
Linux on HTC Magician is not working (yet).

For Himalaya,Blueangel and Universal, but not yet for Magician.
but the HaRET.exe must be swich to bootpromt or not !

haret boots the kernel directly. without any bootprompt.

Yes.
I've tried this

with some results.
It is far from being ready to be used, but it promises greatly.
On my device, it booted fine with GPE graphical desktop, and I could launch apps via the touchscreen, although most of the time they kept crashing on launch. But sometimes they worked ok.
The present kernel doesn't support sound. There is no app for phone (and maybe no drivers too).
Bluetooth seems to be working.
But it still needs a lot of work!!!

I have read llbasha instructions for upgrade, but I am not sure if this applies to my QTEK Pocket PC, model: PH10B. Here are some details of version:

Hello together.
Up to now no one is able to get bbconnect working on the new maschines like touch cruise. I carefully read almost every bbc threat and the only solution is to hex edit the os version. I successfully did the hex hack for my wizard with every os version I used (see http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard_version_hack).
Now I concentrate on the os of the touch cruise. The target is to get BBC 2.1.2.31 working on the TC.
Changing the AKU string to .2.0.0 is easy.
Changing the modelname from HTC-Polaris to HTC-WIZARD works and BBC recognises my TC as a Wizard.
Now I have to change the os version from for example 5.2.19960 (uDK Diamond R4 , thx for that great os) to 5.1.195. The hex edit to 5.1.19960 works.
But I can't find the hex values in the coredll.dll to change from 19960 to 195.
Can someone help me? Any idea is appreciated.
PS: I want/must (to) use the Blackberry service and not something from MS or third party solutions.

the OS version is stored in a DSM in the XIP.

What happens when changing the OS Version?
Changing the MinorV and MajorV in the registry has no effect.
They were able to get BCC 4.0.0.100 working on the Diamond with OS 5.2.20270. So I hex edited the HTC-Polaris string to HTC-Diamond and BBC recognize my XDA Touch Cruise as a Diamond. My Carrier is Vodafone D and I think this is the reason why it does not work.
Any solutions?

Can you tell me how did you change the string into HTC-Diamond, or upload the allready changed nbh , in order to test it with my sim ?
Use a hex editor directly with the nbh file.
Search for
4800540043002D0050006F006C006100720069007300 (H T C - P o l a r i s )
and change it to
4800540043002D004400690061006D006F006E006400 (H T C - D i a m o n d )
Save it and flash.
After that my BBC recognize my Poalris as a Diamond in the BBC About tab.
I choose the 20270 os version because the same os version is working on the Diamond with BBC100.

i managed to get a pin using version 103
and everything seemed to be ok
but the next day i wasn't able to get a connection.
I tried a few soft resets, reinstallation, but nothing changed:
i had a pin but no connection.
After a hard reset i didn't get a pin or a connection.
I'll try to flash an original rom and see if anything changes.

Not sure which device your using or refering to this time - let me know and I'll see if I can help as I've a fair chunk of experience witth bbconnect and setting up on most devices?
Also - you mention 103???? Is that a new 4.0.0.103 version? If so - can you post a link, the .cab or some more information?

hello. i bought o2 xda mini with win 5.0 rom (maybe not from magician device). When i go to the bootloader (camera + power off + reset) i see screen with four colours and text : " IPL 2.06 " and " SPL 2.06 " at the top of the screen. My version radio is 2.06 ?? This is normal bootloader screen?
i was trying upgrade original rom and radio without any results and the update program don't identifies my verion of radio

this is o2 xda mini magician device, Model No: PM10A (i read information on my device when i remove the battery) i think so this is a Xscale processor architecture! My windows mobile shows omap850 with 195 Mhz in the hardware information but this model must have 412 Mhz !

maybe someone upgrade this device with charmer rom by mistake. Bootloader is from charmer, maybe i must change this one on the magician bootloader and the next, install magician orginal rom?

My advice, should you try to upgrade to the WM version of italy..!! can you get in http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=windows mobile&model=Magician
carefully !!! learn first before you do it because many people are trapped (device so brick)
