TomTom Today plugin - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 2005 Upgrading

I've got a Qtek 2020 with TomTom 5.21.
I also have a Dell Axim X51 with the same problem.
After installing TomTom via the .cab files the created Today-plugin doesn't work. Installing on this WM5 devices wasn't easy.
After tapping the today-plugin I get a beep from the device but TomTom doesn't start. It will only start via Program Files.
Anyone any idea?

The TomTom Today-Plugin just links to a startmenu-entry of TomTom. Make shure you have a "TomTom.lnk" in "\windows\Startmenu" and/or in "\windows\Startmenu\Programs". (If not - copy it to there)
It also maybe that the Plugin links to the "TomTom.exe " -> check the installation-path. Possibly you have it in "\Programs" and the Today-Plugins expects it in "\Programme"

Idea: WM2005 Bluetooth stack on Magician ???

Hi guys, just a crazy idea.
I loaded my old XDA II with the WM2005 ROM that is floating around in the XDA forum.
First of all I can confirm all the bugs and problems people face with this obvious BETA build of WM2005 on the XDA II, but…
I found the improved MS Bluetooth stack quite interesting.
So here’s an idea:
Would it be possible to extract all WM2005 BT parts (files and registry entries) form the XDA II and place them onto the Magician.
Obviously the XDA II is using a different BT chip, as the Magician, but I found in the registry of the XDA II
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\HCI
the bthcsr.dll
and in the Magician registry
the bthusb.dll instead.
And we know from the exercise with the Bluesoil stack that the Magician uses some kind of USB BT chip.
So I believe these are the driver dll’s for the different BT chips, so by keeping the bthusb.dll on the Magician the WM2005 stack may accepts it.
So here’s the problem:
I managed to export all WM2005 BT registry entries I found, but I got stuck by copying the bt*.* files (dll, etc.) of the XDA II, as they are obviously in the ROM and Resco File Explores can’t copy them.
Even if we manage to get the files, I believe we face the same problem how to override and load them into the Magician.
Maybe by copying them into a different path then \Windows, a directory in the RAM and set the pointers in the registry to this location.
I know it’s probably a hopeless project, but maybe some of you are mad enough and have some ideas and ways of doing it ;-)
I’m happy to help with everything, getting the stuff of my WM2005 XDA II, so let me know if you have some ideas.

Can you tell us please, if there is any new features in BT stack? Any voice dial support?
BT profiles I found in WM2005
Hi, had a quick look through the WM2005 registry and found the following BT profiles:
- Serial Port
- Dial Up Networking
- Headset
- Hands Free
- Input Device (probably Keyboard etc.)
- Active Sync
YES!!! I wish we could!

Lets see a cab file include the reg and the dll files with the new features 8)
torklemm,
can u dump the rom and upload it to xda ftp?!
Ecactly my problem, never did that 'dump rom' excercise, and I'm not to deep into that Hex code hacking to do it myself, so if anyone else can get us a dump of that WM2005 Rom so that we can try to integrate the required dll files and registry entries into the Magician, that would help.
Ahmmm
guys...
why dont u try the bluetooth stack provided by widcomm instead... it has more features than the 2005 microsoft stack as well, u'll save hell a lot of time and energy extracting only the blutooth stack from the package and am using the widcomm stack currently... it works like a charm... though mine is a himalaya but i've upgraded to win2003se
ROM Version : 2.06,00WWE
Radio Version :1.14.00
ExtROM Version : 2.06.00a
See if u like it... u'll find the widcomm stack on this forum itself, in the Himalaya Upgrading section... but this stack doesnt work with the radio and rom version that himalaya provides... i actually upgraded to the new OS version mainly for the widcomm stack and ofcourse why would i mind a landscape view
adios
always
mOrph
mi amigo
I have tried installing the latest widcomm drivers... well not just the latest one.. all of them.. but it always gives an error about the lack of memory even tho there are lots of memory to spear.... so no one till now could figure out how to make it work on the imate jam...

Navi on Treo 750v?

Hi,
I'm searching for a navigation solution for the Palm Treo 750v and Germany/Europe.
I did a quick test of Navigon PDA 5 two weeks ago when I had the device for testing but was only able to start the software. The problem with proper display proportion was obvious.
After some mails and searching on the web I got this:
Answer from Palm, Germany:
In December a solution based on Tomtom 6 will be available for Palm Treo 750v.
Answer from Navigon, Germany:
There is no information. Please watch our compatibility list.

Does anyone know of a working solution besides Tomtom?

Newbie question

Hi all.
Essentially I want to use my Orange SPV m500 with tom tom. Tom tom is loaded and works really well.
However I want to use bluetooth headphones, these work well with the phone, but not with tom tom voices. I was given advice on A2dt?? headphones and no joy, someone suggested I use bluemusic as this can direct all speaker activity through to the bluetooth phones, downloaded it, but it wont install.
Bluemusic site states that I nee wm5 or wm6, but I have windoes mobile 2003second edition version 4.21. The error I get is that the cab files is not a valid ce file.
Is there a way round this that anyone knows.
Can I upgrade the phone to WM5 or 6 and if so how do I do it.
Or does anyone know of similar software to bluemusic that works with my windows version.
Thanks in advance

Anyone tried Tomtom7 on a tornado with WM6.1 Standard?

Anyone tried Tomtom7 on a tornado with WM6.1 Standard?
Curious to see if it work.
it works on my vox (s710), so probably will work on the tornado. problem is you don't have a touchscreen so you need a program like fakecursor to emulate the mouse.
Hi, were did you find Tomtom 7 for windows mobile please? I thought it wasn't available for PDAs...
[edit] Ok sorry, i found it!
also tried it on my tornado and it works. i took the files from ttnav_7.450.9028_repack3 found on the internet. The install-cab file doesn't work on the tornado, but i copied the TomTom Navigator.exe and data.chk file to program files\Navigator directory and made a shortcut in the startmenu myself.
So the program works, but you need to emulate the mouse to be able to use it. It is much like Navigator 6. But give it a try and see for yourself
sorry for the bad photo quality (taken with my s710)

Works the same on my brother's Tornado with WM6.5 Standard ENG OCOS 5.2.21234(Build21234.5.0.1)ver.1.0 Lite by Gregorys Rom.
I'm also working on a TomTom Launcher that looks for TomTom executable in device or storage card, allow to select screen rotation, fixes TomTom window moving to background (sometimes) and keeps screen alive during navigation. Hope to solve also Fake cursor issue when screen is in landscape mode (by a lightweight dpad hook). Exiting TomTom restores initial phone conditions.
It requires .net CF2, WMtequan.cab and TDM.cab installed first.
Tomtom
It worked on my startrek and pretty much works on tornado. I just need to reactivate the maps. I use the blue version- there's a link in the startrek forum.
