Ok, i'm looking at this particular device and it was a surprise that win 5.0 are on it. But because i would use the device also for GPS and i know that there are some problems with tom tom and win 5.0, i was wondering, can i downgrade it to win 2003? And also change language to english? The second thing i don't think it would be a problem. Did anyone try with tom tom 5 and does it work?
And the second thing, i noticed that on the ebay some sellers have in the specifications for the device written that it has 200 Mhz procesor. Is this true? Because qtek s100 and s110 uses 416 mhz procesor.
Tnx!
I think Charmer is using 200Mhz CPU.But the downgrade,no idea...Good luck man.

You can't downgrade vom CE5.0 to CE4.2 since HTC doesnt supply an image. Changing language may work if you use an english update. Regarding TomTom: Wait until they fix their problems - they will for sure.

True. Its the Texas Instruments OMAP cpu with 195 MHz. But that doesn necessarily mean that it's half that fast.

Has anyone tried this?
Everybody in this forum said that this is not possible.
As you see, everything is possible
no what everybody have been saying is that the htc cant be usb host
not that it cant "cheat" windows into see'ing it as a mass storage device
so you can access it's files without installing activesync
@rudegar
Anyway, thanks for pointing out this application. I'm sure everyone was interested in this.
BTW, have you found a c***k for it? searched everywhere

Anyone tried this downgrade ? I need the Blackberry push for business constraint and this is currently available only on WM2003...
Thank you
Qtek S110 has WM2003SE.
Have you a MDA Compact II?
No but I plan to buy one, so my question before I buy it !
But since the MDA compact II is exactly the same hardware, I guess the answer is YES...I am even wondering if the Compact II advertisement saying it is a WM2005 is correct....
it aint the same hwardware, compact II has a 200mhz TI OMAP CPU, normal MDA has Intel Xscale(?) 416Mhz...

Is there a way to downgrade my prophet from WM% to WM2003SE cos i think SE is a far better OS. I've been looking for ROMs and things but cant find any. Can anyone help me please.
By the way, I'm a bit new to all this but have a solid grasp of PCs and know a bit about PDAs.
Thanks
Why would you want that?
i just dont like WM5. There are lots of little things missing that were in 2003 if i can do it, then i might as well. Can you help?
Hi, I think the S200 shares quite the same hardware with the S100, which runs under 2k3SE, maybe you should look at its roms...

s100 and s200 do not use the same cpu (s100 intel Bulverde cpu s200 TI OMAP)... they do not use the same gsm band (s200 is quad band and s100 tri-band)

If that was the case Wm5 would have been available on the S100 (cooked). The S100 and S200 have different processors which is the main reasonw why you just have to forget about putting S100 ROM on an S200.
Just to clarify, my prophet is an SPV m600 on orange. does this help?
It only helps by telling you that you can't put WM2003SE on your device... HTC, Dopod, Qtek, Imate, Orange, O2... All the same hardware just the branding changes... Unless your an expirienced programmer and you have a team to support you can't see how you could cook a wm2003SE rom to support all the SPV hardware... Hope this is clear enough... If you want a wm2003SE device buy one second hand...
I noticed that HTC has released an upgrade software (WM6) to HTC P3300 (Artemis) and the software can also be downloaded in different languages.
Well, being a Finnish guy I'd like to know that if I have Finnish WM6 of P3300 downloaded, can I also flash my HTC TyTn II (Kaiser) with the same software in order to have a Finnish WM6 in it?
Actually it doesn't bother me to use English software since I'm pretty used to it but just for the curiosity I'd like to know whether that same software would work in HTC TyTn II?
WM6 = Windows Mobile 6
Hi,
As i understand, different rom cannot be flash onto different hardware.. It willl brick your device. I think i've read somewhere that somebody (maybe Schaps) doing rom with different language. I cannot point it to you since i'm browsing from my TyTN.

Hi!
I'm currently browsing from my TyTN II since there's something wrong with my WLAN connection :-(
However, could you please post a link to those ROMs when you'll be able to get back to your computer? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I had my Qtek 9000 ram upgraded with this company http://www.ppctechs.com/Qtek-9000_498/upgrades/ram.htm great job they did, great communication and reasonable pricing which I had done back in January of 2008. As for a cooked rom that supports 128mb of ram would be Tomals 8.2 highly recommended which I have been using on my device for quite so time. No problems at all with his rom.
