Hi guys,
My XDA IIs is really, really, quiet when it rings and when using it as a phone. In fact it's so quiet that in a silent room it's a struggle to hear the person talking on the other end even with the volume turned right up.
It didn't used to be like this. OK, it was never ear drum splittingly loud, but the other day it just went Uber quiet. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
there might be something wrong with fone speaker....good luck man..

I have the same problem... Also had problem on the DINC. What you can do is go into the call settings and turn on hearing aids and that will actually help with the volume it lowers it a little...
Don't ask me why but this is an issue with the HTC's
Have you tried downloading audio manager from the market? Its a free app that allows you to change volume settings and for me it has been more accurate than the built in sound settings.

I have tried that and it did not seem to help as much as turning on hearing aids.
I think is not loud enough. I find myself trying to turn it up after is all the way up.

I am having the same problem on my rooted Thunderbolt.... any ideas how to fix it other than turning it all the way up on a call then turn the volume down? kinda gets annoying..
I agree, the call volume is very loud even though I have the volume turned all the way down. Doesn't bother me too much though...
If you're using BAMF by any chance...
I had the same problem on BAMF Remix. After flashing the patch to remove the call recorder, it has been working perfectly.
flash a differnet kernel. some have an audio "enhancment"
where can I find this? I would like to try it. =)

Whenever I have this problem, I turn it up all of the way and then turn it back down. Works every time.
volume
I flashed the new kernal 4.4.6 with no recorder this morning and it fixed my problem!! I am so happy!!
I also flashed the non recorder version and that cured my way too loud volume. Now I don't have to hold it 3 feet from my ear so I don't go deaf.
Can someone post a link to the patch for removing call recorder please? I find the in call volume way too loud. I've searched through a few hundred pages of different BAMF posts and haven't been able to find the patch.

it's in the first few posts for adrynalyne's froyo kernels (one of his posts).
So do I just install one of his kernels that doesn't have support for call recorder? I still can't find a separate patch to actually remove call recorder. I just want to lower the call volume.
I didn't need to flash anything under the current version of das BAMF. The call volume was way too loud, so I went to das BAMF toolkit, application settings, and removed call recorder.
Problem solved.

I just got my Sensation like 3 days ago and i have had a few friends when talking to them tell me i come in muffled and have a hard time understanding me. Has anyone else have thier friends say this? I would think with the dual mics and noise canceling this phone would have perfect voice quality. And is it possible for the rom/radio to affect this?
Are u running the latest fota

No i am running:

Virtuous Sensation v.1.1.2
I see they release 1.1.3 today but i dont see anything about voice quality.
Is it ok on stock / another rom

A friend who called me right after the OTA upgrade said I sounded terrible, and that I never sounded terrible before. "S" sounds are impossible to hear. I mean impo ible.
O, when I call omebody, thi i what I ound like.
I would think this topic would have some legs. Either everybody here is on a custom rom or everybody is too busy playing with the update to notice voice calls are crappy on the other end.

Yajinni, I've had the same problem with my HTC Sensation since purchasing it 3 weeks ago. People tell me I sound muffled and like I'm under water. And other times it's clear for a moment then goes muffled again.
I'm still also looking for a solution and will post here if I find one. Please let me know if you manage to resolve it too.
Best regards,
Lex
Do you guys have some kinda protector case on your phone? My old lady did before and I couldn't ever understand what she was saying when it was on her phone

when just using the phones mic my wife cant hear me, she says I am muffled too. 2.3.4
hi guys, i am on mike's Revolution ROM, with the same muffled voice quality as described. It may not be something easily detected (since you can't hear your own voice!) but it is definitely a real problem.
Desperately searching for a solution, if there is one.

in case anyone is interested... voice quality issues with the previous radios/RILs have vanished with the new base!
Yes me too, muffled voice on both my Sensations so far, although the second one is marginally better.
Recently I installed mumble for chat, however whenever I speak my mic volume is very low. (as told by my friends on the other end) Is there anyway to boost the mic with setting configuration, android app, or am I eternally screwed? All the help is appcreciated, THANKS!
This belongs in Q & A and has been asked and answered many times.

i am also having problems but only after installing revolver rom. i use skype and my wife cant here me unless i am talk derectly into the mic. i tried headphones but the tabblet still uses the built in mic. i am to boost the volume or something any help would be great.
also i have been looking around for a salution for about an hour now on the 199 threads for the transformer so next time you tell some one its been answered please leave a link as you just sound like your being rude.
I haven't noticed anything useful on it beyond maybe upping the bass on it; but I'm newer to this forum section.
IDK what use it is for you, but my fiancee and I are often on TeamSpeak 3, so I will switch to the tablet at times. I've found two things to help: don't move and speak close to the mic, instead of sitting away from it.

I searched the forum for this, and even google, but without any replies. So I thought I have better luck creating a new thread.
Basically I'm my question is about the conference call beeping sound (when calling more then one person at the same time). I read it's a privacy thing. But in my opinion it would be enough to beep only, maybe, the first 10 minutes?
So my question is, is it a phone thing or a carrier thing?
And if it's a phone thing, I'm stunned that no one had made a solution to disable it, cause it doesn't seam to be included in a phone.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
I think its a phone thing and you may put it in silent mode then no one will disturb you
hit thanks if I helped you

I think you misunderstood me.
The percipients that I called to the conference all is hearing the sound. Not me.
And it sounds every minute, to all of them, so it's not an incoming call or anything.
M facing same problem like you, found no solution yet.
