If anyone can please tell me how to make my universal function as a wireless router that shares the internet? Or how to get my phone to give my mac internet, dont have bluetooth on the mac. Please any advice is wellcome.

I have a Sensation default ROM and since I bought the device I am unable to connect to my home wifi network. My laptops are able to connect to the wifi but my phone says obtaining and then disconnects then tries again and again.
my wifi is WPA secured and am like very near the modem itself.
I tried resetting the modem but in vain.
Made the wifi unsecure and then too it does not connect though my laptop connects to it.
Please help me out. I am in Bangalore, India using BSNL connection.

Your laptop in b,g,n compatible?
Try to connect your sensation without any computer.
Box or modem can't manage g and n both....
Try to change your key in wep,then reboot your modem and try to connect your sensation.
Then,return to wpa2.
Instead, you can with some modem to associate MAC adress on wifi.

i know whats wrong...it usually happens when u have unsecured connection... call me on 9612273270 (shillong) i'll trouble shoot via fone...coz writing all and communicating like this is pain a bit...also tell me ur modem make and modell....

I have a Samsung Epic 4G (rooted), and I use the wifi tether to give internet to all my devices in my apartment (galaxy tab and sony vaio). I just purchased a canon MG5220 Wireless printer and need to get it on the wireless network that my android tether gives. Mainly because I need to print things off my Sony Vaio thats also connected to my Androids Tether.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need to give your canon an IP address... to do that you will need to set it up with a computer and the installation disk... during the installation it should give you the option to select the wireless network the printer will be connected to... make sure your android hotspot is on and choose it from the list.. from here you should be able to configure the connection... now download a print app from the market place... and try a test print... hope this helps..

Might want to be a bit more specific there. From what you're saying, it sounds like you're trying to do what bedalus said.
If what you mean is that you want to access your wired internet service wirelessly to your phone, you're going to need to pick up a wireless router or something.

The second part is true, i want to access the wired internet service and i have an wireless usb dongle(adaptor), also i want to share files with pc wireless.
What PS do u have? With Windows 7 you can create an ad-hoc under network sharing center -> set Up a Connection or Network -> Set up a wireless ad hockey (computer-to-computer) network. Then you can just follow the instructions on the pc

i created an adhoc connection, but the phone don't see it, also i read that that nexus s cannot do adhoc connections, it is true?

Yes you are right. Nexus s does not support ad hoc. I am sorry, I did not know that. This is weird even iDevices support it.
You can try ZT180 adhoc switcher from the market. But I cannot guarantee it will work. Because I have not tried it by myself.
Another option is using Connectify from windows 7 PC. I don't know about apple PCs. But connectify can turn your windows 7 PC into a real access point router. Not just a ad-hoc.
Well the last option is get a wifi router. What internet do you use? I am sure you can have a wifi router for all internet connections. NO matter you have ADSL, Broadband(Ethernet? I don't really know how to call it) even 3g or 4g connection can be wifi-routered! You just need to pick a correct device since NS does not support ad-hoc.

Under "Password" field in Connectify , you have an option "Internet". There you can select your internet connection to share. Hope that works!
I mean i select the win7 default connection " Local Area Connection", and set it to shared, but the Connectify connection (access point) doesn't have network access, i don't know why, i tried almost 10 times, it just doesn't work.

Update: I think i solved it, i just turn off the firewall of ESET and windows, and it works fine, thank u guys

I have a MAJOR problem regarding my phone's connection to internet. It now cannot establish a stable connection with internet. Bothers me a lot!:crying: Connects and disconnects.
