you know when you have reminders, missed calls, voice mail, SMSs, all queued up in one 'Notification' icon in the soft-key bar of the today screen? that's pretty inefficient because it doesn't let you skip the first items of the queue and jump to later items in the queue. for example, if you wanna see a missed call that's behind an SMS you'd have to click 'reply' on that SMS before you can see the missed call.
it also lacks basic features like dismiss all. the default way that WM5 handles this problem is very limited.
so is there any software that can solve this problem?
p.s. i may be suffering more from this problem because i customized the right softkey of today screen.
Doesn't the right soft button contain dismiss all?
V
yeah, i remember it was there once. but it's gone now that i modified my right soft-key.

Hi,
I've relatively recently got HTC kaiser. lovely phone but one problem. WM6 is awful!
simple actions take way too many clicks to perform.
i'll list some of the annoyances:
- I'd like the dialer to have bigger number buttons.
- i'd like the contact view page to have contact detail and 2-3 BIG buttons - Call, Text, Email.
- I'd like incoming SMS notification (the little pop up with sms text) to have 2 hard buttons - reply and dismiss (instead of current - reply and menu)
- I'd like to have a hard button on call history
these are just of the top of my head, there are few more but cant remember right now.
Is it possible to tweak the system to fix any of the above problems?

For your contacts issue, try PocketCM. For everything else, use the search feature on the top of this page. I cant tell if someone has done some research on it, but there is a big chance that there is some stuff for you to find.
Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I've googled around and searched through xda-developers, and doesn't seem it exists.
(for those not familiar with it) - On Palm OS if there is more than one event in the stack, it pops up a fullscreen list of all outstanding notifications (ie. battery low, new text message, missed call, etc) with checkboxes and a timestamp next to each line, and a "dismiss all" button at the bottom. It makes it really nice for a snapshot view once you've been away from your phone for a while. It's a lot nicer than dismissing each notification, one at a time (particularly when they don't even use the same button to dismiss).
I'm not sure if this is a setting or a byproduct of TF3D, but I can't stand the way that alerts work.
If I have a reminder for an upcoming appointment, the notification toast doesn't appear at the bottom like it did with my Mogul and other WM devices. The chime goes off and the alert icon appears on the menu bar, so I hit that, I get the menu bar selection screen and then if I hit the alarm bell, the toast displays at the bottom.
I'm running the default Sprint ROM for now, with some of the basic tweaks. This (and the inability to use a 4-pin headset) are my only real remaining beefs.
Is there a config or tweak I can do, is this just the way it is?

I have a ATT fuze so I dont know how much of difference the set up is...Did you look in system, sounds and notifications then notifications then scroll to reminders and make sure display message on screen is checked...What else have you installed that could be interferring?
Slawcops hint did the trick here.
After upgrading to the newest HTC official (dutch) ROM, TF3D was always in front of such system messages.
By going into the setting menu, sounds and notifications, notifications tab
then selecting "Reminders" (I guess thats what's it called in the english version) in the dropdown box and enabling the "show message in screen" my problem was solved.
Hope this helps!
edit: It would seem this action is needed every time after a soft-reset...if anyone knows where and if this value is stored in the registry, I would really like to know.
I wonder if anyone encounters this. Or is this normal by design?
rom: wm6.5, HTC's official release for diamond2 in southeast Aisa, WWE.
When the phone is started, Task Manager does not list the program (or process?) SMS/MMS.
In this state, SMS messages can be received normally, with proper notifications I set.
After I reply to a message, tap the cross in the upper right corner of the inbox (native inbox of Outlook), and return to the Home screen, I can never receive message notifications. As soon as I open th inbox again, the notifications all come.
This is strange, since incoming messages can be received, even when SMS/MMS is not listed in Task Manager.
The only explanation can be that the system process incoming messages and delivery notifications in different ways?
I have a HTC Touch, which carries wm6.0. The same thing happens on this phone. I haven't noticed this during the use of HTC Touch in the past year and the use of Diamond2 during the past four months!
Can anyone confirm this?
I was wondering what the simplest/best start menu bar replacement for wm6.5 is... i can't seem to search for the right thing.
I want to replace the entire start menu bar... w/ teh start button, the time, the sound, and notifactions (like wisbar or gigabar used to do back in teh day)
the reason why i want to replace it is because I don't like how my notifications are displayed. Currently, if I have one notification, it shows teh correct icon (missed call or email). But if I have 2 notifications, it shows the generic "notification" icon.
I'd prefer to see separate icons... i.e. a missed call icon, followed by an email icon to indicate these are my 2 notifications.
Moreover, on my phone (ipaq glisten), if I receive an email, the notification will show up on the start menu, but if hte email gets cleared on the server, the ipaq will also clear it (and it won't show up on my today screen), however, the icon remains until i go to the mail app (even though there are no longer any new mails). This is annoying.
Any suggestions? I don't need anything fancy... it's really just the nofications that are bothering me.
Moved as not software release.
i guess my question can be simplifed to:
if i have more than one notification, how can i get them to display separate icons for each type of notifcation (instead of a generic "balloon"/notification icon)?
If anyone has used Windows Mobile Standard (non touch screen), you know what i mean. If i get an email and a missed call, i see 2 different icons on the startmenu/status bar.
my second question is:
if i receive an email, my phone will show the email icon on the start menu bar. this is great. however, if i don't touch my phone (so the icon is still there indicating unread email), and i check the mail on my computer, so it's marked as read, it will also be marked as red on my phon. this is also great. HOWEVER, it will still show the mail status icon in the start menu bar, even though there are no new messages anymore. To clear it, i have to go to the mail app...
bumpity bump... seems like this subforum is dead!
the email thing is still a really annoying issue... after clearing emails on my desktop, and i take a look at my phone, i think i still have new emails.. but i don't... it's just the icon isn't going away until i go to my inbox.
lol already on the third page... i hope i get banned for bumping again.
really, no one knows of a) a fix for my described problem or b) a program which shows all the notifications?

I also find this very annoying! Anyone having a solution for this?
Thanks.
