How can I save SMS messages to storage card?
Do I need to modify registry? Or any tweak program changing SMS storing location to my SD card?

Sorry, you mis-understood my question. I want to ask if I can change registry to let all SMS messages automatically save onto SD card instead of RAM of PDA.
Of course using backup program can backup all the files into storage card.
Thanks.

I think its not possible... It was already set to default that it would save to /windows/messaging/

Therefore I asked if there is any registry entry defining the path of saving SMS. I believe this is possible.

Any news about this question?
I'm needing something like this.

hey
u can save the messeges by downloadng the software. i think its called the SMSBACKUP
it will save ur messages in 1 file. then save the file in to ur mem card. so then if u format ur phone. just install the software and restore the file then u get the messages back. that;'s its

Store messages and contacts on minisd card

Hey all.
I have a MDA Touch and I would love to know if it is possible to have all of my messages, emails, contacts etc stored on the storage card, to try and claw back a little storage (i dont want to flash the rom!)
Thanks
From looking through the registry, no.
Daverage, it's impossible.
However, you can export them with, say, PIM Backup or SKTools, delete them entirely and, when you do need them, just import them back.
Thanks
I had guessed it would not be possible.
Settle for moving my pie cache to the storage card

Mails on Storage Card

Hi
Does somebody knows how to save mails directly on storage card.
I've forgot how to do that, but I still remember that I did that with adding things in the registry
Sorry if this has been asked 200 times, but I can't found anything about it via Search function
Thanks in advance
Would moving them to SD stop them from being auto-deleted? The problem i have is that when i send & receive i can see my new mail. But when i send and receive again all old emails are deleted without asking.
There was a Registry hack, which save your mails on your Storage card instead on your phone memory.
But I can't find it anymore

On my Universal, there is an option settings for that under the Message Application. No need for a hack.

Text Message Backup?

I have a TyTn II and just got a Fuze (HTC TP) and I wand to transfer every saved message in my inbox, outbox, ect... to my new phone?
Can it be done?
IS there a image folder like outlook has .pst files or is there a folder I can copy?
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance
I use PIM Backup and have not had any problems with it at all!! Its free and have attached the file for you to make it easier!!
will this also copy over my calender as well? I would love to Xfer all the info from one device to the other. Caleender, Email, TXT, MMS ...
Will this do it?
Yes, it would. Here is the original PIM Backup thread.
HTH
Thanks!!! reading it now!
without reading I would assume...
I install this on my memory card on my old phone.. run iot and back everything up to my MEM card. - then I would install on Fuze with the same MEM card and just restore and DONE!?

Lost all contacts?

I wanted to flash a new ROM and wanted to backup my SMS and contacts. I used an app on the market (Super Backup : SMS & Contacts) and backed up. I don't know where the saved backup is now because its not in the folder where it usually saves in. Is it hidden? Deleted?
Thanks.
If it's not in the directory the application usually saves into, then it is probable that it was deleting during flashing for whatever reason. Try using Recuva by Piriform or another data retrieval tool to recovery them.
I've never heard of Recuva but I'll have a look at it now. Thanks!
Hi,
for sms backup you can test the free app from market "sms backup and restore". After backup your sms you can find the data on sdcard in folder SMSBackupRestore.
For backup Contacts the easiest way is to have a gmail account
Yeah it should of saved into that folder but it doesn't seem to be in that folder.
if there is really such backup process, that would be really great. i'll try it.
Next time save contacts to sim card then transfer contacts to phone from sim card.

There is app "SMS Backup and Restore" on Play Store. You can use it to backup your texts and copy it your PC.
This software can either backup and restore SMS and can backup and restore Contacts, very handy. I've been using and strongly recommend you to use.
OR You can search " obbosoft " in google......

In China, we backup the SMS and contact with several software before flash a new Room
I feel that AST android sms transfer can help you backup and restore all you text messages.
Search "obbosoft or apolsoft" in google.....
They all can solve your problem.
Google sync would be a good option.can be found in ACCOUNTS&SYNC under settings.
Simply add account and sync.after flash sync again.

I chose OBBO Android SMS & Contacts Backup It allows me to transfer and backup your SMS messages & Contacts between android phone and desktop computer.
sms backup + or sms backup & restore from google play. FREE!
Sms backup
SMS Backup & restore work very well.
It create a directory on your SD. copy it on new phone, than select restore.
I will recommend Android Manger to you that all of your texts will be on the cloud. The service has a PC application that will have all your messages on both your PC, Android and cloud. If you change PC or phones just re-install the application and all your texts are back. Plus you can text from your PC using this application as well.
Android Manager
Using apps to save SMS on your phone, and then transfer them to your computer? The way I see it, this is not so good a choice. Why not use some program on your PC and transfer the text messages from your Android to it directly?
Because if you also save it to your MicroSD card you have another backup in case the PC backup doesn't work. Nothing wrong with redundant backups. I also back mine up to my Dropbox account.
Thanks for valuable information. And after my test,I found android assistant tool can make it easily.
Another way is to use Google SMS backup&restore.
