BMW handsfree syncing - an update - General Topics

For all you individuals out there who are experiencing the partial hands-free sync in a BMW (among other vehicles).
I final got some semblance of a step in the right direction regarding the as yet seemingly unsolved question of why doesn't the XDA sync properly with BMW bluetooth in-car kit.
I was instructed this morning by BMW that the car kit supports Bluetooth V2 and beyond. To the best of my knowledge, XDA or Windows Mobile 2003 uses version 1.X.
Now all we need is for a Bluetooth stack patch!

BlueTooth Handsfree profile ? Is it really possible ?

I have seen various posts regarding this subject. Both on this forum as on various other sites around the globe. Nowhere I have found an easy 'this is how you do it' manual on getting a Handsfree bluetooth profille on a MDA.
I was really happy when I encountered the 'PocketPC Bluetooth Tools' which page indicated the version 1.1 (released in April 2004) added the Handsfree profile.
I installed it without success. Do I need a different BT stack ? I now have the standard MS stack. I am running 1.60 WWE on a dutch MDA.
Any response (positive or negative) is appreciated.
I am trying to get the MDA working with the Parrot CK-3100 carkit.
Excellent carkit, but now only able to use using the Headset profile.
Thanks,
Taco

No you shouldn't ned a different bluetooth stack, as the pocketpc tools do everything automatically. I installed it and have it working successfully on my XDA II with 1.60 WWE.

Could you please indicate WHAT is working successfully. Do you mean you are succesfully operating a 'handsfree profile' carkit ?
If so, do you get an option to select the handsfree profile in the MDA/XDA ?
I only get 'Headset'....
Thanks,
Taco

Oh sorry. I only get the headset side working as well.
I read somewhere that the Parrot BT carkit can be configured to use the BT headset profile (and therefore works with MDAII)
Yes, that's right. I use the Parrot in the car with my 02 XDA II (stock ROM 1.66WWE). Works great and supports the headset profile.
Where can youget this programm?
The Parrot (in this context ) is not a program / software, but hardware. Its a handsfree kit.
You dont need additional software for it to work.
For three days I have been having ck3000.
I use it with BTTools 10.12.
With vito voice to dialer you can mark by means of the voice, but using the mike of the XDAII, not the one of ck3000.
It works fine.
If I install widcomm BT stack, parrot not work nor with MS stack.
Ok guys, I made it quite clear in my first post that I was looking for the Handsfree profile. The headset profile works fine even without Pocket Bluetooth Tools. To be honest, with version 1.1 it does not work all that great actually. So I am planning to uninstall the additional software.
I am still puzzled why the website for PBT indicated support for a Handsfree (=carkit) profile in version 1.1.
I tried contacting the author, but he is not responding unfortunately, nor has the software been updated since april.....
So to be short: there is no-one that has created a (working) handsfree profile on his/her XDA.....

MS BT stack + pairring problem with carkit

Hello,
Bt MS stack is apparently not compatible with all BT headset, hands free en car kit devices. I have been trying to pair my pocketphone pda with a pioneer car kit without a successful result, the image of the hands free appears on the BT manager ‘as pioneer BT unit’, but the standard pin code 0000 or 1111 is always rejected.
Pioneer technical service couldn’t help, they say normally it should work with almost all BT headset devices and a compatibility list of the product is not available.
I guess the problem lays on the BT package. Is there a way to solve this issue by creating for example a BT compatibility patch, or changing something in the registry to make it compatible. Widcomm stack is better en compatible than the MS stack according to many users. Does anybody have any clue?
My device is upgraded to WM6 with always the same sad result.
Thanks
Hi, I have a pioneer bluetooth stereo in my car too, Found it a bit difficult to get paired at first, but it eventually worked. Although it would not give me the hands free profile, only the headset profile, which means I have to initiate and anwer the calls from the phone :-(
thinking about looking at the widcomm stack if I can get it running on WM6
For your information, I have tried the widcomm om my device ‘the last version’, but when I click on the bt icon in today screen, the blue led start flashing for a while but stops with “ memory storage error” . There are some bugs which should be corrected or some registry hack to get it work. However, the widcomm is far much better and stable than the MS BT stack ‘this later sucks’.
Apparently, you have a built-in bt unit, I have a pioneer 6800 + BT unit device optional, it worked perfectly with my old qtek 9090 as a hands-free and an BT audio device without any problem.

Bluetooth sync error with car kit

I have Touch Cruise now with Omnia styled rom
In my car, I have a buildt in bluetooth kit with phonebook and call list sync - it's a pda with windows mobile for autimotive. When a phone is paired with it (and then every time when it connects), it syncs the contacts and the call list with the phone - then you can "remote" the phone from the wheel hands-free. It worked with my prev. phones, and it worked with my HTC with the original rom, and the udk Diamond R8. But it's notsync with M-Amine and this Omnia styled rom. It works as a hands free kit, but the bt sync is not working. Any idea what's the difference between these rom's BT settings?
Hi,
Try downloading and installing a program called jetware something...
I had the same problem with syncing contacts with my car stereo, but after installing this software it works flawlessly.
Thanks, I am also interested because my Bluetooth suffers systematic disconnections with my parrots handsfree Minikit v1.03.
Works, thanks!

VW bluetooth compatibility

I have just been issued a HTC touch2 phone and i am having compatability problems setting it up to use via bluetooth with my VW UHV PREM in car system. I have read tons of forum pieces on similar problems but dont fully understand the solution. What is rSAP and how do i make this thing work ... HEEELLLPPPP

I used to have a HTC Wizard and used it with Bluetooth Carkit and GPS Mouse at the same time. It was also running WM5.0, so your Universal should be able to do it also!
