Voice Command... Can it announce caller 1 time only? - General Topics

Hey all...
This is my first post, but I've been reading the forum for a long time and I have found out so much because of this website that it's become ridiculous. I feel very fortunate to have found it and to be part of it. I wanted to ask a question however that I can't seem to figure out on my own.
Microsoft Voice Command... I really love the program but I have one small gripe about it. I really like that it can announce an incoming call so I don't have to see it to know who is calling, but when the ringtone plays at the same time it really garbles up the sound. I don't like this at all so I came up with a kind of compromise.... I have it vibrate and make the announcement first and then I have the ringtone kick in right after... but it announces a second and third time which garbles up the ringtone again.
It would be really great if I could get the announcement to play the first time only. I was wondering if there is way to have MS Voice Command make only one announcement of the caller so the ringtone will play nicely afterward? I haven't been able to find any option except to uncheck "Announce incoming call", but I was thinking maybe a registry tweak or something?
I've looked around the board and a few others without luck... So I'm not expecting much, but I figured someone might take a look and see for me.
Thanks in advance...
Marc

i also experienced this problem as well. I hope somebody can help because Voice Command is a great app.

Freaking SMS notifications in calls... times 3!

These are driving me up the freaking wall. I keep my phone on vibrate most of the time, but even when it's not, my SMS notifications only sound once. When I'm in a call, however, every text message that I receive interrupts my call. Not only does it sound a notification (which the other party can hear), it does it 3 times! It happens so quickly, that the stupid thing can't even finish before the next iteration starts again. I don't get upset easily, but this makes me want to punch something.
I can't find ANY menu item that differentiates how notifiations for SMS messages are in and out calls. Can anyone help me?
Oh yeah, I posted it here because I'm running Quentin's 6.0 WM6 ROM (v1.2). I don't know if it's something unique to his ROM, or if it's a default setting. I tried posting in his thread, but no one answered.
I never had this problem on any of the ROMs I have flashed and I've flashed over 20. So Maybe you could try another and see if it happens.

Man, I hope so. I really like the Q-Mobile ROM, though... I wasn't planning on flashing until he released another one. It's the only ROM that has cured my "flashing fever". Heheh...
So... if you're phone is on "loud", and you get an SMS during a call, what happens?
i can hear the notification when I am on a call, but the other person has never said anything so I'm not sure if they hear it or not. Only bothersome because my tone is kind of long and it drowns out what they're saying. I've never had a multiple notification though.

The other side doesn't always hear it. Sometimes they hear it clearly, sometimes not. I always hear it, though. It drowns out everything else. It's like a freaking smack in the ears every time it happens. If I could find the person responsible for programming that to happen three times, I'd kick him/her in the crotch.
At least Voice Command isn't reading them to the person you're on the phone with....

Hahaha, better watch it. I wouldn't be surprised if that started happening now....
Mine does the same thing on every ROM i've tried. It plays the notification sound, and then a "beep" sound on top of it, playing the beep twice. Never figured it out.
have you tried one of the kaiser tweak apps out there to disable in call volume beep's? this might just solve your problem

how to fix incoming call delay

My Tp delayed around 3 secs then ringing after some1 called me,any1 know how to fix it?
Search for 3 seconds delay and you'll find thats its possible by making some adjustments in the registery
Hi,
the reaseon for the delay is the dialer skin of TP.
If you disable the skin then the phone rings imidiatly. But that's don't satisfy be, because the standard WM dialer is very nasty.
The design is just case of opinion. For me is much better than stupid HTC skin in functionality(Smart dialing with national symbols) and can be skinned as well, even tough default design I like. And WM built-in is much much faster and don't spend system resources as HTC's designed. Only thing, that's missing is video calling feature, but I never use that.
You can use the diamond tweak program to get rid of the delay. I believe the option is under the call area of the program. just download the cab and install it on your device. I would link you but I'm typing this from my fuze. Search should turn it up fairly quickly.
Hope that helps
I guess that will not fix the problem as the setting you are talking about deals with the delay to END a call, not with the delay in the beginning when the phone receives a call.
So the tweak program won't help at all.

The stock dialer skin will remove the delay, but you will also lose the bluetooth icon. In addition I've read that you will no longer be able to use the side keys to change the volume while on a call.

advanced config has the setting for time to end a call (default 3000ms). diamond tweak has the setting for ring with delay or without. i can confirm that setting no delay works great... there's still a small delay but now its just like any other cell phone
btw, since this is just a reg setting (and the end call timing) why the !#[email protected] would MS or HTC implement it? is it supposed to be some sort of feature? it's just annoying as bleep and it doesnt help the publics impression of WM, once again, the phone part is really just tacked on...
Wasn't something mentioned about using a .wav file instead of an .mp3 would help out as well or was that ruled out?

Emergency incoming calls while silent

Hi everybody,
I'm looking for some software that will allow people to contact me in emergencies while my phone is on silent/vibrate mode. For example, I'd like to be able to let some people know they can send my phone an SMS with specific keywords and make it ring even when in silent mode (e.g. when I'm asleep). I can do that with phoneAlarm. However, a better option would be programming the phone that if someone calls more than 3 times within a period of X minutes while the phone is silent, the 4th call would ring.
Any ideas how I can do that? I tried to look it up but no results so far.
It is really a great idea, but I am afraid such software hasn't been born. In the near future, it may come true. If anyone else knows such thing, I would like to have a try, too.
Would it be an option to have a "white list" of people that can call you? For all others the phone is busy.

[Q] google speech volume low... sometimes.

Now that google language has updated to allow the 'ok google' feature in the search bar on UK language settings, i figured i'd give it a whirl... However if i ask a question such as 'whats the weather like' the responding voice is incredibly quiet, but if i ask to send a message then the voice is fine? (im guessing the loud predetermined phrases for messages etc.. are already on the phone and quiet ones are coming over the web from googles servers?)
Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the quiet voice responses without increasing overall system volume as everything else is already loud enough?
Also could someone else test this just to make sure its not just my phone :good:
After searching around it seems im not the only one with this issue, however im still at a loss for a fix, if anyone finds a solution then please let me know :fingers-crossed:
(yeah this was a shameful self-bump, this sub forum flows quickly)

Question Phone dialler not working as should.

Hi all.
The phone dialler from miui and google won't work as should.
I tap the phone icon under that name of the contact and nothing tells me that it is connecting.
It does ring out. But I have no screen to stop the call.
So I have to wait till the other person hangs up.
This is a real pain when I call someone and a answering machine kicks in.
I have no way to stop the call.
I have not deleted and built in apps.
This is driving me mad.
Anything I could try?
Thanks people.
Hope you all had a nice Christmas.
So. After trying most diallers from the play store.
True dialler works.
But it would be nice to solve the problem.
