I recently bought Galaxy Ace and was going about to play with it little bit more.
Just made the root on it and works perfectly.
Now i'm not sure how to go with applying some ROM onto it but i cannot find any. Can someone help me with that, which ROM's can i use (Cyanogenmod, other Samsung phones mods like Galaxy 3 etc.)

Does anyone know if there are any custom ROM's available till now?
I found out on w w w . s a m f i r m w a r e . c o m some drivers but the loading is little different (with Odine app), it only ugraded it to ver:
S5830XXKA7
FROYO.XXKA7
from:
S5830XXKA6
FROYO.XXKA6
but there are 2 others available there and i've aplied the latest one (S5830XEKB1) and this one doesn't make any difference with the functionality of the phone.
Is there a way to put any Cyanogen Mod onto this phone?
Hi can anyone help answer the above questions? Can any Froyo 2.2 ROM be used on the ace or we need phone specific ones?

Getting clockworkmod (custom recovery) running is currently a work in progress. stay tuned. after we have a working recovery we can have custom roms.

My phone samsung galaxy ace gts5830 softbricked after trying to install a new rom (s3 rom) ,it was unlocked,rooted and working fine,i turned the phone back on and got the stupid yellow triangle with the connection to pc icon,am now stuck on trying to figure out how to restore it back to a decent working firmware (so many to choose from,am in the uk and was using O2 sim),and trying to decide how to reroot,and reinstall a decent rom, anyone help please????

I've been searching far and wide on the net, and i have serious problems with my S5690. The syndroms are that it reboots unprovoked, and it seriously P***** me off.
So i'm searching a clean Custom Rom based on Gingerbread, isn't there any out there, or someone has something I can do to gid rit of the problem??
The phone is rooted and that worked like a Charm, and i have uninstalled the Stock apps from Samsung, but the device still reboots at times??
Some days even 3-4 times!? :S
My Carrier is the danish Cellular carrier 3, and I have spoken with them, but the problem isn't from their side but Samsung that has messed something up with the stock ROM. I've been reading myself towards some sweedish sites that are experiencing same syndroms.
I really hope someone can help. :-(

Super user doesn't work for my device to root it, what app did you used to root it?

Hey, I used a rooting tool from another thread here on xda and then I used the app superuser too administrate the apps which needs permissions.
Then too freeze and uninstall apps I used an app from market called app freezer.. Worked like a charm.. Working on a custom firmware too but I only just started..

So you did manage to root and run a custom rom? I would like to have something like cyanogen mod. My previous phone (htc hero) could be rooted only using super user.

No I haven't been able to find a custom rom. ;-)
But I have rooted the phone and it works perfectly, and without reboots since I uninstaled the stock apps.
Take the link I posted and then find the rooting file, and and place it on the root of the phone memory then reboot to recovery mode and apply manual update from sd.. Then after it installs reboot and then you have root permission.. ;-)

Hi all im new here, but i read your thread about GT-S5690. I cant find any stock rom that it will accept? My phone is ROOTED but I cant read MMS directly and Music wont play from folders. I could be missing some APKs I know that.
I would like to RE-install original rom, and I CAN NOT do a reset tried that 100 times and the same broken rom installs then.?

I have a different problem with my S5690. When trying to install another camera app, it's stuck in negative mode and no normal model available!
I've tried ProCapture, which work with normal colors on first launch, then stuck on negative. (removing data / cache from app makes another first launch in colors?
Also tried Camera Ics+ which is just stuck on negative?
Anyone experienced this or know a workaround for this?

i hav a galaxy s i9000 gt and i recently rooted and then chose a ICS rom from my SD card and it worked and i was very happy.
but then when i upgraded to ics i could not find the CWM icon on my phone and i taught once i upgraded my phone was no more rooted so i rooted again using odin and ever since my galaxy was switching on and whenever i switched on it was going into clockwordmod recovery and in clockworkmod recovery theres multiple errors in mounting my sd card and the clockworkmod isnt working !!!!
plzzzzzzzzz help im so sad and depressed right now and lost and dont know what to do and i subscribed to xda thinking someone would HELP

Hi, there, I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with.
I was updating the software on my Samsung GT S5570 and half way through the install my mate was fed up waiting and took the battery out! It seems that the old software was removed to prepare for the new install and as this was disrupted it will not finish. There is no software on the phone at all! It does not recognise PC, SD reader or anything! HELP PLEASE!!!!

Have you tried to flash a new rom, via ODIN or Recovery mode?
flash a new ROM using Odin there are tens of tutorials on XDA for doing that

Iam a great admirer of xda and go through your discussions on regular basis.. This is the first time im posting anything.. Can anybody help me get the custom rom for my note 10. n8010 UK version.. It will be very helpfull.. And one more thing. most of the roms posted here dont work on my tablet. First of all it will not install and give a 7 error.. if any does install, it stuck on the boot logo. Thankyou
Typically the 7 error means you don't have the right recovery. The other thing it can mean is that you are trying to flash a ROM that is not for your device... Use the latest Philz advanced or TWRP. If you are flashing a KitKat ROM, make sure you have the recommended TWRP recovery installed.

My recomendation is first ROOT your tablet if you don't have, install HighOnAndroid Recovery and all problems disapear.
My opinion is: first try this ROM: Android Revolution HD 11.2
I'm on it almost one year, without lags and reinstalation. Try it and you'll see.:victory:
