If the photos and videos are chosen to be aved direct to SD/MMC, is there a tweak (registry?) which can define which directory on the SD card is used for the storage?
not sure which device you have but on my xda2 i choose which dir
video and pictures should be put
if i want to use the sd card i type in
\storage card
if i want a dir on the storage card i type in something like
\storage card\pics&Video
I'm on the Magician myself and there is no option to select the dir, just whether it is saved to card or main memory.
Anyone? Remember, this is WM2003SE, not WM5.

Hi guys, is it possible to move the default docs folder to the Storage Card?
I mean having everything (video, music, docs, programs settings,etc..) in the card so I can easly synch it and free Ram on my new Jam
Thanks
Not Really.
You can create a directory called "My Documents" on your storage card, and save everything on there. The Operating System will automatically detect the folder and allow you to place documents there.
But there's no way to automatically synchronise your storage card - or have I just misunderstood?
Note: If it looks like the OS isn't using the My Documents on the card properly, check for a 0-byte file called ignore_my_docs and delete it.
You could try super-sync

I'd like to save my new docs into the 'My Documents' folder of Storage Card automatically in order to save space in main (RAM) memory. I know it seems to be easy, just go to 'Options' and set 'Save to' Storage Card. I've done it in case of every frequently used program.
Camera and Excel works well, they place the new file into 'Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures' and 'Storage Card\My Documents'. But Pocket Word and Notes place the new file just into Storage Card root dir.
Any hint how to solve it? Maybe some registry settings?
Thanks in advance
Tibor
(I posted the same message to Magician forum earlier since I have Magician but no answer came so far. - Maybe here...)
Solution
As it was my first request for assistance I thought the community was more helpful...
But no problem, finally I found the solution. (source: support.microsoft. com, article ID: 319616)
Let ME help if somebody has similar problem: you should delete the zero-byte-long 'ignore_my_docs' file from the root dir of Storage Card. This file prevents the built-in applications from using 'My Documents' dir as default/root folder while listing the files in 'Open File' window.
(If you need further explanation, refer to the above-mentioned Knowledge Base article.)
Cheers,
Tibor
Storage Card is a SD card and to save power it's disabled while the pda is off
many applications which run even when the device is off
use my doc dir
if it was located on a unavailable location like the SD card it would cause issues with the device
It's actually Q319516
Sorry for posting my problem here but in other fora there were no answer so far

With the Evo, connected to my PC, selecting "Mount as disk drive," only the Micro SD card appears in Windows Explorer as a directory. I want and expect to see another directory for Internal Storage.
Had had the Incredible, where _both_ the SD card and Internal Storage appeared as two separate directories. I could see what was stored on ea.
I am under 300MB of memory of avail. space on the Internal - lots of posts about running out of app room in various forums - so curious what media and other data is there, what might be movable to SD card.
Got some further questions about how to copy data from an 8MB card to a 32MB card (just drag to PC and back?) as I just ordered one, and about how to tell certain apps where I want media recorded to (may simply not be an option w Camcorder and others), but mainly just want to understand how to view Internal storage from a directory on my PC when unit is docked. Thx!
Hello, someone have been able to save Footprints on the storage card rather than the internal memory (small and full)?
I've taken a look to the registry but couldn't find anything. The structure in my case is different from the one described in thread 731863
Why the hell did they disabled the option to save on the storage card?
