JSR-75 support - General Topics

Can anyone tell me if the XDAII device manufacturers included the JSR-75 optional package support in the device. Do I have to instal a 3rd party JVM (e.g J9) in order to use the File Connection package (JSR-75)? A quick response will be very valuable.
Thanks guys.

This addon was designed to run along with the MS BT Stack. It will not replace or install another stack other than the original MS BT Stack. This new addon will not replace your original BT settings, infact it will enhance your BT experience. It has been on all pocket PCs running both WM2003se and WM2005... So Enjoy.

DRMMiddleware & mHub available in cabs?

I'm looking for these versions:
"DRMMiddleware"="1_5_19122329_00"
mHub 6.57.090121.E1
Not sure if these can be installed in cab format or if they have to be cooked in.
It's usually a good idea to cook those in as there are usually other dependency packages required. AFAIK, it's also not advised to mix'n'match some packages because of the nature of their function.
That said, I have the "DRMMiddleware_1_5_19122329_00" package but mine is paired up with "mHubVO_1_75_090515_X0"; can you provide some specifics about the ROM(s) that might contain the package combination you are after?
Cheers,
whats the purpose of DRMMiddleware??
i always associated DRM = evil for music i rightfully purchased
Pretty much right on the money; problem is you need the middleware present as anything audio/video passes through those libraries.
Fun huh?

I have a question. mHubVO_1_75_090515_X0 contains voAMRNBDec.dll and voAMRNBEnc.dll so 2 files while mHubVO_1_73_090424_X0 contains 23 *.dll files. Why is that? I tend to use 1.73 and do I have to switch to 1.75 if I use DRMMiddleware_1_5_19122329_00?
BTW what is LockStreamDRM_1_2_081216_O9_02? Can I remove it? and the same question about DRM in SYS...

Free EveryWAN Remote Support v3.1 available for download

The new free version v3.1 of EveryWAN Remote Support is available from Sparus Software.
EveryWAN Remote Support Personal Edition will enable you to remotely view and control any Windows Mobile device from your PC using a local ActiveSync connection (via a USB/cradle or Bluetooth). It provides just a taste of the powerful capabilities of the full EveryWAN suite and - even better - this personal edition is free to download and use!
It fully supports Windows Mobile 6.5 devices.
Improvements in the free EveryWAN Remote Support Personal Edition:
- Selectable pencil colour for "white board" feature. Previously this was restricted to blue.
- Use keyboard shortcuts in the application, with the option to disable these shortcuts if required - The disable option is useful where conflicts may arise between local and remote functionality.
- Option to include recording of device skin in screenshot function.
- Improved File Transfer Tool: Find a file on the terminal - no need to navigate the file tree if you know the file name
- Opening simplified on the PC for a terminal-based file
- Added new skins: Sony Ericsson X1, HTC S740, HTC Touch 3G, Eten DX900, and others
- Improved Remote Display skin creation tool:
* ASR key codes.
* JPEG support
* Right-click a skin to edit or delete
Many more improvements in the Enterprise version (connected to EveryWAN Mobility Manager gateway server) like:
- New collaborative tool Text chat - the help desk and the user can use this chat client as an alternative means to communicate in areas where the VOIP function is not practical.
- Improved display terminals connected, which can now:
* Search user by their name or partial name match
* Expand / Collapse the group tree
- Periodically refresh the user list automatically
- User configurable display option, allowing sort and display of device information – e.g. device model instead of serial number.
...
You can now download EveryWAN Remote Support.
You are welcome to give any feedback on the product. I like feedback on our work and I can improve it for next version if something is wrong or missing.
Where's it gone?
Quick one on EveryWAN RS..
Links to the file seem broken, any idea what's going on?
The full suite seems pretty solid and might be worth looking at for one of my projects but atm I could really use just the RS PE for my own phone..
Anyone have a copy of v3.1 they could link up for me?
Cheers

[Q] symbolic computation in Android: help with big libraries

Hi all,
I recently developed an application to do symbolic computation (some thing like Mathematica) by cross-compiling and including existing open source software.
The problem now is that, the software is too big due to big libraries required for computations and displaying equations. I was wondering which one is best way to deal with it.
a) The app downloading libraries from internet
b) Each library will be having an installation apk which will extract its content to mobile
c) Make the app real fat (around 14MB)
The problem with option c is that the updates become quite big too.
So, which one is best option? a or b
BTW, if you are wondering what app I am talking about, you can search for "MathScript" in android market.
For now it used option a.
Use option a.
Option a.
Others people might think its a virus or something if apk is like 14 MB
The software is now designed to download the libraries from internet.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Javascript: alternative to Xmlhttprequest and Fecth

I have an Human Machine Interface from an European producer called Exor.
The device have an embedded version of Javascript which does not support Xmlhttprequest nor Fecth.
I wish to use these two functions to perform an API call.
If I try to use one of these two functions the system return an error "Can't find variables".
I am struggling in order to find a possible function (alternative to Xmlhttprequest or Fecth) to be able to allow the API call to work in Javascript.
Any idea which could be a function to be used?
Andrew
