We can't extract firmware because of new motorola system files, i don't found a tool to extract binaries (*.sbf file).

i know how to extract q8 sbf rom file, but the q9 rom is encrypted.
The core version is not latest , only 19214(AKU 1.0.4)

Where were you man? searching for you, you are one of the key members here, what about your new invention, i mean any new update on VOX ROM?
how can we extract this rom?
the first two links seem to be holding the new ROM however with an sbf extension. I am wondering what kind of RUU will open it. Also, seems that these ROM are encrypted. Technically, one should not care about decrypting the rom if he plans to just apply it. So back to square 1: What kind of RUUxxxx.exe file reads SBF rom images?
By the way, the third link is irrelevant, it will only allow you to download an official updated from motorola which so far (after trial of course) doesnt upgrade your mobile yet.
I want to use 041f MUI files in this rom for my Vox. how can I pick this files?

What missing things so far got resolved by using files from Q9h ROM like:
Storage Card Encryption? any other issue currently running with all cooked 6.1 ROMs here.
what people want is
Storage card encryption still doesn't work. I think we need a genuine 6.1 vox xip for this...
I'm also playing with SYS 19700 it's so much faster when I scroll, pocket ie is actually almost usable
But the fonts look ugly and I forgot to put in t9. maybe that's why it scrolls so fast.. We'll see..

Hi all chefs, great contributions by all of u to this Vox community, i had a small query, can you please extract the Newer Jbed from s740 rom... or post a newer version other than the JBED3DMOD version, coz its old enuf now and has a annoying error/bug in wch the lower portion of the screen of Jbed doesnt match with the screen of jbed, instead it shows the background patch.. i hope u understand wat i m tryin to explain, coz this is a very common bug i suppose,,, thanks in advance

update: AND the voipbuster client is also working!
INSTRUCTIONS for install on other ROM:
(use total commander or resco explorer)
Just copy the contents of the JbedJava folder to the Vox \Windows folder and replace the old files.
Do the same with the files in the 0409 folder.
(if your language is Russian, use the 0419 folder or use 0809 for UK English)
You will need to update you java apps (menu - actions - update)
or reinstall them.
(I installed on Mona Lisa)
finally the gmail java app works properly!thanks a bunch

Hey Frauhottelmann, as always, great greater greatest job... thanks a lot.... the interface of the new jbed is coooool... no more of that annoying transparent bar at the bottom, everything nice...
btw can u please tell me do i need to rename files before pasting into windows folder, coz presently i have just copied ur given folder into the storage card and running it from there itself...
one more doubt, can we change the font of jbed, coz its not the standard segoe font and the present font is veryyy small to read, tried extra large fonts also in opera mini... still small fonts... please tell how to change jbed font and font size....

Usually it should work if you just copy it. But the old Java version is probably included in the ROM, so that might cause an error. You need Resco Explorer or something similar to that. Windows Explorer doesn't overwrite files that are in ROM.

i am from germany, and i bought my samsung sgh-i780 in the US.
now i want to update my windows mobile to a newer version, but i am having trouble doing so:
the phones ID is: DXHD1
i am using the phone in english language just as i received it. but it seems like the phone has been imported to the US from eastern asia ?? right??
the official samsung page "http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/i780/index.jsp" doesnt work for me because my code isnt accepted in UK (i dont want a different language other than english or german)
what am i supposed to do now, in order to update my phone to a new wm version?
i read through the forums but i didnt find a fitting answer

try using UK and BVHF1 to get upgrader!
then tell me if you were able to update using this tool!

afaik
it should be possible to upgrade to russian rom(full eboot pda phone) with mirage
then apply e1 update pda part only (with mirage)
after this i supose official uk update from page above can be used to upgrad e phone to pdxib1 =) which is newest and std for actual roms'!

I am very confused... i dont understand all the terms u used because im not into this topic as u are
could u explain those steps for someone who is a complete noob as to that topic please? i dont know how any of the things u have been talking about

forget this way!
first get official pdxib1(or how irt is spelled!) using the link provided in previous post!
and then edit it as decribed unter the same link!
i use xvi32 as hexeditor =)
tell me if this leads you to succes!

so first there are 3 things:
bootloader: starts windowsmobile! (called: eboot)
then operationsystem: windowsmobile(called: pda)
third is phonecomponentfirmware(calledhone)
you have to update these three using a russian rom!(romis a packet including one or all this three sections!)
then you've to get english software code! for this apply e1 rom to your i780! (it flashes pda sektion)
then it should be possible to use official english upgrader obtained by the samsung website!
this updater makes your mobile run dixb1 in phone and pda section (or how this reccomended version is spelled!).
after this you can overide pda section using a dxib1 based rom likeironeagles or dreamtheater39 or heineken ones... =)

second way described is very easy just get two files!
then edit one of them and there you are!( i think it is the seccond that has to be edited!)
official updater by samsung:
PDXIB1-XP
XVI32
what is to edit using xvi32? see middle of this post!
drivers
install xvi32 and the drivers!
then extract the updater with 7zip or winrar!
open biggest .exe with xvi32 and search for "DXIB1"... you will find it two times.
rename it both times to the same!
replace with what?
leaf the ib1 and replace the first two letters with the first two your phone has!

your code works when selection malaysian! =)
if you want to use uk version edit it like described in treath above!
but i think malaysian is english too!

pdxib1 IS malaysian! =) its unbranded version =) its offcial version from samsung not for brandet devices!
i will modify pdxib1 to update my german phone...
dont forget now you can update to cooked wm6.5!
most common bug is artefact when moving courser!

AND DONT FORGET: GPS FIX! use it for every programm! w/o portsplitter!

cooked means edititen in a certain view.
so wm 6.1 is official
wm6.5.3 which u can obtain by using those "cooked" roms has a totaly reworked startmenu
it has other slidingpanels(titanium)
it might be faster. rom cookers (the persons building cooked roms) apply patches for stability ;more ram/space/pagepool new themes.
in wm 6.5 theres no real advantage than new startmenu and ne ie6 mobile.
i suppose to give ironeagle or heinekens rom a try and if you dont like it just flash old wm 6.1 back =)
its up to everyone to decide self wheater it is usefull or not.
on my old htc vox i always jused latest wm obtainable becuase of new features speed and stability
but the flexcable broke^^ so i got a new phone as vox is allways damaged somewhere.
and yes i'm german and i've just payed my new i780 =)
so it will arrive maybe around 29/30/31 this month =)

How to change keyboard layout from QWERTZ to QWERTY:
- HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\DefaultLayout -> change it 00000409
- HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e001ffff\Keyboard Layout -> change to 00000409
- Reboot... you now have the latest and greatest wm6.1 english rom!

no, they are very much different. don't ever try, it will break your q8.

dude, you need to scroll down towards the settings and try to like read the choices as if it is in english. you need to go to language settings and select us english or something like that then after reboot you are in for a ride... goodluck!

I dont like this wm6.5 verson. Still have some things in chinese after change language, just like the "new sms" and "new mms". Other problem on this firmware is the branding...
but that chinese windows cant change font to standart and change became kanjui font and i dont understand
I wrongly flashed my Q9h with WM 6.1 AT&T updates with sim lock from motorola software update site. Now my device is locked. How to remove this lock? Anyone can help?

Go here and download any WWE version that you found newer. They're original shipped ROMs for topaz, if you want cooked ROMs (which they are including latest WM builds, updated packages, tweaked settings, etc.) you can find them easily at the Topaz ROM Development forum, go and find your flavored ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=486

Your iGo issue is not ROM related.
It's because you have different versions on your SD card.

I put AmiGO in it but it giv me the 480x800 resolution skin not found.

I had a similar issue on an older device and had to completely remove all iGo files, then just put back the newest ones because I had so many different builds that it was conflicting with everything.
Make sure you install from 2577 folder on root of SD card and put all resource files into iGo folder on root of SD card.
Also check your Sys.txt for errors.
