PHM Launcher from PHM Tools (www.phm.lu) - like DJUPLIFT says, use the tools mentioned.

thanks...but i wanted to know is there a way for this by modding the registry strings?
thanks

No.

If there were, why would people write entire apps to do the same thing?

Task / Switcher Bar

Hello
I'm obviously new here and glad to find a place where I can find out more about my xda2s.
One quick question I hope someone can answer - on my old Dell x3 there was a fantastic 'Switcher Bar' appearing at the top of the screen, which when pressed would show what programs were currently open, and allowed you to then close them, therefore saving memory etc etc.
I know there is the task manager on the xda2s but I cannot get an icon for it; one that will stay constantly there. Any ideas or is it simple not possible.
Thanks in advance
HPJ
install the attached file, it will give you 2 new icons. one on the top which will show battery status and the second icon at the buttom which will show running programs.
hope this is what you are looking for.

that's great, thank you. I've installed it into Program Files> Task Bar> (all the unzippped files) but it hasn't done anything.....how do I activate it?
Many thanks
HPJ
you dont unzip it
you sync it to the pda and run it then it install what needs to be installed
personaly i use PHM Task Manager
which is pretty much the same as the task manager in windows(pc)
Still cant do it....I need more practise obviously.
Whats the PHM Manager like in WindowsPC (I know how to use that at least.....)
Thanks
HPJ
here is what it's like and look like
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/TaskMgr/
well when you doubleclick on a cab file you should see a progress bar often it's gon before you know it and then the program should have been autoinstalled and have an icon in programs

SHortcut on today screen...

Hi guys!
Is it possible to add some "shortcut" to a program in the taskbar of the today screen?
http://home.pacific.net.sg/~welic/claunch.html
Please read for example http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=366634 and http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=561&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 for a complete roundup.
If you really want icons in the taskbar as you said, you might want to check out PHM Tray Launch, my own very bad VJTrayLaunch or possibly one of the SPB offerings I think.

Getting rid of 'start' from title bar

I use ilauncher which allows you to put icons for running progs in the title bar.
To free up space in the bar I would like to remove the 'Start' written beside the windows icon.
Anyone know a way to do this?
Thanks
no way apart from using wisbar advanced or other shell replacements
I heard that some guys do it... go and ask
I cant remember exactly but ask to Joshkoss yes the Moderator from hermes he was trying to do it on winmo 6.1 or 6.5 i cant remember exactly.

Hmm...
Thanks for the reply, but I assume that Wisbar and other shell aps are only a pretty wrapper for a set of registry changes, no?
I had heard some tell that you could manage it by changing the title bar text to the same color as the title bar (text is still there, but invisible) using SKTools or UITweaker, but I couldnt seem to get it to work.
Anyone have any thoughts on how this approach might be managed?

Quick links

Is there a cab for adding more quick links? Something similar to cookies home tab? I can not install cookies for some reason and would like to have more quicklinks and cant find anything in the search.
Try this.
it runs without MaxManila and Coockies Home Tab!

You would need just remove and re add your program shortcuts from the quicklinks.
That should restore the text.

All u need is get a free registry editor application. I recommend PHM Regedit. You can search for it on google.
Using the app, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and the path I mentioned before. Delete the 2 registry above. Try it, not as hard as it sounds.
