I have been trying to set up my M500 gprs on Vodafone, firstly i have set up numerous phones and phone/pda's (all Orange Spv's of some type) with Vodafone settings so I am pretty certain i have tried most things.
I seem to connect to gprs ok - getting the connecting balloon as normal and get the connected 'g' icon but i can't seem to access any sites or Msn.These do work ok with a wifi connection but no gprs.
Anyone have any pointers?
Cheers
Maybe you could get hold of the ROM for the VPA Compact.
Yeah i tried that but couldn't seem to find one (if someone knows where please pm me)
I used the Imate rom and voila - i have internet usage again,using the settings i had previously tried.
I can only assume there was some Orange junk on there somewhere??
Thanks for the reply
I have installed the i-mate uk vf contract cab, but have no joy connecting to Vodafone live!. I can connect to their wap network but that is no good for wanting to sync my outlook.
Has anyone managed to connect to the vodafone live! network successfully? If so I would be interested in your settings, as I have spent hours on the phone with Vodafone support, but they keep telling me it is a problem with my phone.
Many thanks,
Toine
If you need to sync your emails, then all you need are the correct AP settings for Vodafone, as per "Connections". For example, for VF-UK these are:
AP = internet
user = web
pwd = web
Hope this helps

Hey, I'm using Jwrightmcps latest Rom. But need to configure the exec for use with the Irish O2 network. But I amn't to sure of where to enter the settings ether. What I need is the MMS and GPRS settings and what sections to put them in. Cheers in advance.
Use the Network wizard in the connections panel.

CYTA's customer service is not very familiar with HTC devices. So, to save other Polaris owners in Cyprus from all the trouble, here are the settings:

port number: 9201
server address: http://mmsc.cyta.com.cy

I have done all the above for the mms cyta settings to my Polaris. I can send a MMS as well as emails but I have a problem with internet explorer. When I try to open the Internet explorer and Opera, it automatically connect to mms gprs, but I cannot connect to the internet. When using the explorer I get the following message
''Could not connect to remote server.''
Also everytime I do a soft reset I got the following message:
''The operator does not exist in the database. Please contact your operator for the connection settings.
Connection setup will redirect you to the connections screen.''
and when I close this notification it directs me to the connections.
Can you please help?
Hi,
Fisrt of all I'd like to thank you for that great website which has been very helpful for my entrance in windows mobile world
I've got a SFR HTC S710 flashed to Dr Gonzo latest ROM (running on bouygues telecom network). Everything is working great:
Calls
MMS
Internet Explorer Browsing
But I've got a strange issue: I can't use MSN messenger or donwload mails using Edge or GPRS. It always times out and ask for me to check if I'm under cover of data connection.
I've been using HTC auto config script to set the data connection up. And I can ensure i've got the right contract which allow me to do that
What I'm trying to figureout is:
Is it phone related ?
Is it a bug related to the RADIO version ?
Am I missing something in the configuration ?
Network limitation ?
MSN and mail have been tested and working ok with Wifi connectivity enabled.
Here are some details that might help you:
About:
CE OS 5.2.19195 Build 19202.1.0.0 Made by Dr Martin Gonzo
Radio Version 4.1.13.38_02.84.90
RIL Version 2.002
GPRS connection:
APN set to ebouygtel.com
Your help is very much appraciated.
