Factory installed software disappeared after a hard reset - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

After a hard reset in hopes of restoring the MDA to "factory settings" I lost a couple programs.
**"Voice Dialling"
**the program that shows the Battery Life and GPRS Usage
Does anybody here know on how to contact the mfr to get the original software from them? I would really like to reinstall it and restore it to the original settings.
The phone was supplied from T-Mobile (Netherlands) and then unlocked and now operating on the US Cingular GSM/GPRS network.
Any assitance would be greatly appriciated.
Irek

There are several extended ROM downloads available at the xda-developers site. Do a search. You can run the setup files to get the programs. However, you might want to go ahead and update your ROM while you are at it.

well i have the 1.13 t-mobile firmware on it... after i flashed that one the apps were lost. but i just found out theres a slightly newer 1.13 out noiw, so ill try that one.
Thanks for pointing towards the extended stuff, i was under the impression those things were standard on every mda/xda/jam etc. ill check those out im kinda new to this stuff

I feel kinda stupid... turned out those apps are just in the appsuite on the cd :x somehow they didnt install after i updated the 'firmware'. everything's okay now

Apache Radio Rom 1.43 for better signal

http://rapidshare.com/files/101857345/Apache_Radio_v1.43_Repack.rar
Is there a newer one than 1.43 ?
Thanks, I've been looking all over for this!
I went from 1.27 to 1.41 and then to 1.43 and never noticed any change at
I actually found that using 1.43 caused some stability problems. I also lost the ability to enter SPC codes.
I don't know for sure that it was the cause of these issues, but when I went back to 1.41, they went away.
Can someone point me to where I can download a 1.27? I am at 1.12, but the 1.43 doesn't work. I've got a 1.00 bootloader
reload the factory rom (comes with 1.27) and then update again to whatever upgraded rom you were using.
One guy posted a link to download it via rapidshare. But unless you pay, you will have to wait, can only download one thing at a time, and it is slow and it sucks. I have a link to it using drop.io. It is just like rapidshare meaning you have 100MB for a free account. No registration and you can make as many drops as you want and link them together. An endless supply of drops.
I had Raidio 1.26 and when I upgraded to 6.1 using the BuildOS, my radio wouldn't work most the time. And I couldn't bluetooth or beam anything. But now beam and bluetooth work perfect!
Here is the link. Fast downloads, no waiting. And short URL. http://drop.io/apache143
i had no idea it came with it, i for some reason have 1.00 running on mind and am afraid to change it because i had one bad flash and now it downst get recognized as a apache i have to use the apache noid RUU to flash things but it also when flashes goes to 99% then "fails" but had actually flashed it and the boot pic is the only thing that disaperes i want to flash the radio but dont know if its a good idea and which one to go, does any one know which is better in signal? if it helps i am running my own custom made 6.1 21015 SYS rom
Hi, I have Radio 1.17, I have a HTC Apache and I have two questions.
1. Can I put this version 1.43 to my phone?
2. Do I need to make a hard reset to the phone after the upgrade?, I dont want to loose my information and programs.
3. Actually I have problems with the bluetooth of my phone, I can't use the obex ftp service, do you think the problem will be solved installing this upgrade?
Sorry for my english
Best Regards

What happens to the phone provider software after a ROM upgrade?

Hi,
I want to upgrade the ROM of my HTC Tytn II to the version NoThrills WM61 NLD V3. I was wondering what happens to the software, which is currently installed on my device, by the phone provider (KPN Netherlands), like EasyMenu, after this upgrade.
I'm not saying that this software is that important to me, but I just want some more information about this.
Thanks for your answers,
Dennieku
everything will get erased as u will need to do a hard reset...u can back stuff up and do various backups to things u want but u will need to search for that
The phone will be wiped clean and the ROM you upgrade to will be the only thing on it. You can use UC to add stuff you want to the new ROM on first boot (provided that the new ROM supports it).

OK, thanks for your answers !!!!
yeah, technically it gets wiped clean, but mine still has some orange software that got installed the first time it started up after i flashed it.

Most current AT&T Tilt ROM?

I'm having trouble with my Tilt (it recently started being randomly unresponsive to commands (15-20 second lag some times). Is there going to be a new AT&T 6.1 official ROM with updated drivers? My device has the 8-25-07 ROM date, and before I decide what to do I'm checking on the status of official AT&T releases.
No, as far as I know, there isn't an official one yet. However, a lot of the cooked ROMs on this site will probably fix your problem.
If you can't wait for the official ATT WM6.1 release then you could try their latest WM6.0 release http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=67&act=sd or as mentioned, could try a cooked ROM.
upgrade ur hardspl and the lags/freezes will be gone.

Looks like he is still using an old Stock ATT Tilt ROM (WM 6.0), so that is not likely the issue.
@ gmfeld. If you have had your Tilt for a quote some time, it is possible that you simply have some junk, or orphaned registry settings, or something slowing your system down.
I would recommend either upgrading your ROM to the latest Stock ATT Tilt ROM (as posted above), or simply doing a Hard Reset to get your current ROM back to its original state. Of course, do a BACKUP before you do anything that involves Hard Reset or Flashing!!!1
I just got my tilt and I think I have a newer official version.
It is
ROM 1.62.502.0
Date 01/17/08
Radio 1.27.14.09
I've noticed it has a bluetooth headset issue (not sure if it is exclusive to mine) where it will end the call, but won't hang up in the phone program.
gmfeld & vanisher,
I would suggest you at least run PPCPimBackup then a hard reset. If you have a little time this weekend you should read through G.W.E.N.I. then flash a nice cooked ROM. Play with your device and post educated questions in the proper threads. You WILL appreciate your device more than you ever did...guaranteed.

The above is a noob success story. I would recommend you go the same ROM route as he did as for starters.
There is no official AT&T WM6.1 ROM yet, but we're getting there.
Check the shipped ROMs section on the wiki to see how new / old your ROM is.

Thanks to all for all the suggestions. I've been running SKTools, so I'm pretty sure I've gotten rid of all the junk and orphaned registry settings, etc.
I agree with all that I need to flash a new ROM, or reflash my original ROM, that's the only thing left to do to clean up my Tilt. Just trying to get some info on when or if a new official AT&T 6.1 ROM is to be released, so I don't go through that process twice. If I knew that its a ways off, I will probably then go with one of the cooked ROMS now.

need help flashing my vario iv to wm6.5 please!

Hi, ive flashed a few handsets before (wallaby x2, alpine and a wizard) and had no problems but for some reason cannot even get off the first hurdle with my t-mobile vario iv and cant even unlock the dam thing to flash a custom rom! ive looked at post after post and downloaded so many programs like hard spl and nothing works. the programs ether wont even open or they fail half way through the process but havent bricked my phone so far (fingers and toes crossed!) please could someone help me with what unlocking software i need, what radio rom and main rom i should be using. Really i would like to try a standard wm6.5 rom and then try custom roms after but like what nrg have done if stock is not avaliable. its model is RAPH300 part no- 99HFP013-00
my current rom version is 1.69.110.8 WWE
my current radio version is 1.02.25.19
protocol version 52.33.25.17U
my email is [email protected] if you prefer to help via email
thanks in advance everyone, steve.
Anyone out there?
Ensure you have hard SPL'd your handset before trying to flash ANY custom roms
before you do that, see if there is an updated T-Mobile rom, see if that update will work, if that update works without any glitches then it'll be alright, if you get an error with an official update then possibly something wrong with either your pc setup or the handset
if your using vista, make sure you've got the windows mobile device centre installed, if not, you need to go to microsoft and download it
if using windows xp, make sure you've got the latest activesync installed.
ensure the cable your using is not faulty by trying it with a different cable
and good luck!

thanks for trying to help, have you ever read something over and over and repeatedly missed something in it? i think thats what i did wrong. i did not see the bit about removing my sim card even though i had read the noobs guide again and again. removed my sim and bosh, spl worked! then everything else was a breeze and i am now running the energy 3.0 wm6.5 rom! havent flashed the radio yet but will probably do that today. the energy rom is a vast improvement on my stock 6.1 rom in many areas and seems to have improved camera performance quite a lot (not quality) and the menus are going to be great once i have got used to the totally different interface. does anyone have any sugestions on other roms tha may be better than this one?
Hi there
Glad to hear you got it working!
I am personally using NATF's WM6.1 lite touch pro rom as all i look for in a rom is stability as i actually use my phone for phone/text purposes and there is nothing more annoying than a hanging phone when your trying to quickly reply to a text message!

How can the ROM version suddenly change?

Hi All,
Just a quick question.
I noticed today that my ROM and Manila version under Settings have reverted back to 1.66 despite the fact that ROM version under on the o2 boot screen is still 1.72.
How can this happen? Is it something to do with restoring a backup?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Sorry Mods, I thought I was back in the HD2 General thread. Please move it.
what did you use to restore a backup it could have saved some registry bits and changed them in the phone,
Im sure you restored a full backup after changing the ROM Dont do this !!! Seriously you get many problems with that. Just restore your contacts, messages etc. and install everything clean again...
possibly, my bad....

I changed my ROM ages ago and checked the version under Settings straight afterwards and it was fine Im sure ( I think LOL). I need do a restore today after the HTC Messaging Client 2015 update didnt work and just happened to notice the inconsistency.
Anyway I reckon the ROM version displayed in settings is simply reading from a registry setting (I found the wrong manila version number in the registry also) , as the boot screen displays the correct version.
PS. I use SPBbackup in ROM upgrade mode when moving to a new ROM and and this is the first time I have experienced this. Bearing in mind that I have gone from 1.43 O2 to 1.66 stock to 1.72 O2 and this is the first time I noticing this, 2 months after last upgrade.
Strange...I havent noticed any issues, so I will probably just fix at the point of the next upgrade (assuming there will be one).
Thanks for input so far.
