[Q] Rooted Galaxy on CM7 Behaving Funny

Folks, I rooted my SGS2 and installed CM7. I have been facing intermittent problems and had to do a factory reset 3 time already (in ~8 weeks). Don't know if these issues are related but any insight on how to resolve these would help.
Issues faced:
1. Around 3 weeks back, started getting popup messages saying activity android.xyz is not responding and needs to be force closed. This popup comes for multiple apps one behind the other. At this stage, I can do nothing but a factory reset via the recovery boot.
2. While connected to a phone call (either making or receiving), there was a sound playing in the background. First it was of a child speaking (some media file connecting to a call?) and now (after a reset), there is a notification ringtone sound every 5-7 seconds.
3. I have Titanium Backup Pro and have scheduled backups that run every day. I do see backup files in the backup location but the 'Batch' menu shows '0' for all restore options.
4. When I try to do a Titanuim Backup restore after a factory reset, nothing gets restored.
5. When I connect my phone to my laptop, it is not identified. I have tried to re-install all drivers but hasn't helped.
Has anyone faced any of these issues? Are they linked to a single root cause or are separate issues? Any known solutions?
Thanks!

[Q] One contact's message thread won't open. Stock message app

Ever since the ICS upgrade, one contact's message thread refuses to open and is stuck on "O Loading" with that little circle revolving.
I downloaded go sms pro before and I was able to access his thread through that and the message count wasn't over the maximum limit per contact. I've since gone back to the stock app as he's out of the country and it's faster than go sms pro but he recently txted me and caused the problem to occur with other contacts (though a reset of the phone solves their issue)
Does anyone have a solution and failing that, advice? I should say right now that deleting his message thread is the last resort.

You could try to backup your messages (you can find some apps for that in the market), then delete all your contacts, and afterwards restore them again~
Though no idea if it will work :/

Aye I could try it with a contact whose messages I don't mind losing and seeing if that works, thanks for the tip!
You can also use Google Voice, and have it copy all the messages to your Gmail account.

So I started backing up and restoring and I was able to open all contacts' threads. The backup never fully restores all messages though and I have to keep hitting "restore" so that it'll restore them all up to the present day. Don't know why it's doing it this way.
Just now I've checked and that one contact won't open again. What I might do is try and restore all to the present, delete loads of messages I don't want, and backup this new message history.
I know this is most likely far too late but I was having the same problems and found this thread while trying to sort it and hope it will help anyone else in future who has the same problems. I tried backing up and restoring (Using both the default and sms back-up and restore) deleting the thread and restoring, eventually I solved it by installing handscent, deleting the messages sent/received back to when the problem started in that thread and a few before, then went in settings, apps, then all, messages cleared the cache, restarted and it is sorted!!

Yeah it never resolved itself but I love the customisation of go sms pro so much that I don't mind anymore. Pity go sms pro crashes every so often and I think it slows the phone down.
I was going to start a new thread but see that this is the same problem I have.
I have a mt4gs (Doubleshot) and the problem described in this thread has happened twice. Both times i was receiving a text message and did something else with the phone at the same moment, and it seems to have jammed up the receipt of that text. The first time, i sent a text to the person at the same moment i received one. The second time, i locked the screen at the moment one arrived. Now that thread never loads, and loading other threads or contacts takes much longer than it should. In fact, i don't think contacts would ever load if i were willing to wait forever.
The first time I backed up the texts, reset the device, and restored, and everything worked fine, but that's a really time-consuming process and it seems like a ridiculous workaround for some broken buffer or queue in Android messaging.
It seems that there must be a direct fix for this. If it's easy enough to break messaging that it has happened to me twice, it must be a fairly common problem. But a search has turned up nothing but people saying there are too many messages or to use an alternative app for messaging. That's (1) incorrect and (2) again an ugly workaround for a problem with core functionality.

I NEED HELP! ZTE obsidian: Multiple apps force closing

Hello, I have a rooted Metro PCS ZTE obsidian z820 and running Android 5.1 , with stock ROM and I really don't know much but I have been starting to learn.
Anyways I've had to restore a backup from recovery at least 4 times already because one day my phone died and I left it off and let it charge but when I powered it back on I got the message 'unfortunately the process com. google.android.gapps' has stopped' repeatedly making it impossible to do anything. once I restored my backup I searched everywhere , started looking at Logs from alogcat(which im also a beginner at), and cant seem to find any thing actuallly related to MY problem. I need to fix that problem from happening before it happens.
sadly when l made my backup my phone was already acting up and FORCE CLOSING MULTIPLE APPS. i.e when try to open a text message (through the notification or the app itself) with the stock messaging app it will force close. I've been unable to reply or read more then the preview of the messages so I tried to just compose a new message to respond but as soon as I click send it force closes, and the message still gets sent.
The play store also started force closing when I would click 'see more' on any apps description.
Gmail & Inbox by Gmail also force close when trying to read a message . These aren't the only apps that have started messing up. I very desperatly need help I CANNOT afford another new phone. I don't know if it's because I rooted in phone or what? but how do I know?
UPDATE!!: I accidently opened Google maps and I started seeing 'unfortunately the process com.google.android.gapps has stopped ' repeatedly again. I restored my back up again and almost every one of my apps force close upon opening now or it seems like once inside an app I try to read anything like 'see more' or description of open emails or messages it force closes?
Firefox, Apptoid app-store, orbot, Esfile-Explorer pro, lucky patcher, catlog, are im pretty sure the only mostly working apps.

How to get rid of android.process.acore error?

I'm using an Asus Zenpad 8. I'm continually getting an error message that says "Unfortunately, the process android.acore had stopped."
Is driving me insane. I've Googled solutions. I've tried wiping out the data on Contacts Storage and Google Framework.
The only solution I have found was do a Factory Reset. I have done this three times but the error always finds its way back.
Is there a permanent fix for this?
Sent from my P01M using XDA-Developers mobile app
I'm having the same problem. Did a factory reset a few weeks ago and "fixed" the problem and it just came back just now.
Seems to have to do with contacts sync/linkage. When I open any app that has to do with contacts (e.g., Contacts+ or Hangouts) it will crash almost immediately.
The only thing that I haven't done yet is update to the latest OS. I'm on 5.0 and there are system update(s) available but I didn't want to lose root...

[Completed] android.process.acore

For a while now I have hardly problems with this android.process.acore has ended message in my cm11 rooted fire phone for months now. I have no idea any more what to do, flashed and backuped everything again and again, deleted and restored the contact-datas. The problem disappears while disabeling the contact-storage, but this way I cannot use my Fire Phone for phoning from the contacs anymore. The problem seems to come along with WhatsApp and Facebook and its Messenger, but once installed the problem android.process.acore does not disappear when uninstalling these programs. Anyone got an idea? Thanks a lot for your help!
