It works the only problem is the huge resources since they are made to work with vga device, and replacing the resource doesn't resolve the thing because the dll's are made by fixed screen coordinates, so replacing the .jpg files only doesn't work...

I have Wizard with Smart Dialer, I am working on localization so that you can use accented charactes (any UNICODE chars) to dial. I can contribute to this forum. Smart Dialer on Wizard is embedded in the system.
Would somebody with access to IDA Pro full version please help me out? I haven't got this excellent piece of software and cannot carry on without it...

But after i found file named "SmartDialing_enable_0915_signed.CAB" from FTP site, it's only contain XML code and it related with Intelidial.dll but i can found that intellidial thing on that Extended Rom.... :?: or maybe it's already on windows directory before u installed and all u have to do just activated with "SmartDialing_enable_0915_signed.CAB" ... :roll: :?: :?: :?:

smart dialer working on dopod 818 pro (prophet)
I recently upgraded to the prophet. There is smart dialing available. But it seems the prog is embedded in the OS, or maybe another hidden extrom?
I unlocked my extrom and it is listed as Extrom2. This is about 10MB. The files in Extrom2 are mostly autoconfig cabs for all the different telcos. Plus voice commander & several customization cabs. Only a 70K cab smart-dialing enable cab, no other smart dialing cabs.
the dopod pro has 47+MB storage space available plus the 10mb extrom1 is only 57MB. Plus the WM5.0 OS, which is about 32MB gives 89MB. Where is the rest? We have 128MB ROM. Eten M600 has 80+MB available space. I'm missing about 39MB somewhere. Could it be there's an ExtRom 1? Any gurus can shed some light here? If anyone can help, I'd be glad to post the smartdialling cab here
I finally got this working. Should work on all WM5 devices. It is a .cab to install Smartdialing on WM5 devices.

i think the problem is phcanhtc.dll file missing, this RevisedSmartDialingWM5(Sprint)noHTCnoSkins.cab use PhoneCanvas.dll for Spint only not form HTC.
so any one have this phcanhtc.dll for Qvga HTC device...? :roll:
i have 1 but for jasjar VGA device...
Here is the generic phcanhtc.dll. This will work too. It may change your 3G signal icons, Sprint made a "PhoneCanvas.dll" to have EV-DO icons.
You should drop this in windows and change reg key to:
\HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\
"ext"="phcanhtc.dll"

name it as 4.0.0.0 old rom experiment that driven me for 3 months.. it is old 5.2.1413 ROM, tweaked and modified..
there's no EXTrom, splash, radio parts in 'em. everything you can see on screens is inside ROM(OS file)....
4mb pp both, address $378556 , 4.5 mb may be optimal.
1/5 of soft is installed from cabs while autorun process(freq. updated soft, autorun may be cancelled by softreset after calibration) , most is builtin(in rom).
things to be considered:
- "today time out" should be turned off(it may save battery...) - /menu start/settings/today .
- clock visible everywhere - /menu start/settings/system/clock&alarms tab "more".
- /menu start/programs/xo/install/ contains all cabs used in autorun process, and more cabs(universal useful freeware).
- "fat" rom has pocketage and today agenda plugins - worth to check.

i am working on release, clean version will be uploaded very soon(erm..few hours), i decided to add gsgetfile and tgetfile dlls, need to check upxed dlls too.
loaded version needs some localisation registry removal, and few dlls restoration. there is potential problem with WakeUp program - must check this one too.

this is funny part;
if you look on loaded rom screen you may see, that wktask is there too, v 1.0.0.7 - as cab to manual installation - pbar is loaded by startup -it is smallest most stable method i found, but i left wktask as alternative - now by removing pbar's shortcut from /startup all you need to do is to install wktask from cab.
why cab?
answer is simple:
every serious program, that may have near update is left as cab in /menu start/xo/install/ dir. some of them are preinstalled on autorun process.
these are possible to install/uninstall(list may change, though):
,
i.e. batterystatus is good thing to be uninstalled sometimes(i.e. before update), this is method for doing this.
another example: you got newer java? no problem, uninstall old one(cab is still in rom though, just in case), install newer one,
etc etc.
maybe i am strange, but i think it is good idea(i had space, so why not..)...

second thing - without anichillus, its right, mr.frazz, double_ofour work(and many more people, in general) these couldn't be done...i drilled what i found.
btw, i loved anichillus xplore - so this one is some kind of oldschool line continuation.

Anybody know how to add the plugin manually after the OS is installed? I can never seem to find a working version (the one that lets you customize it from the Today options). I've tried several different cabs floating around and they are nothing but problems.

That's a negative, Sir. Already have that one and it doesn't show up on the Today screen when it's enabled. The one from the OCTAIVOI ROMs works really well, and it's in color. I think it's listed as HTC Touch UI HOME v1.5 B62 or something like that. But thank you for your help thus far. I'm no n00b but it seems that people used to want to help others more in this forum (like yourself ). However, the trend I'm seeing shows otherwise. Thank you again for your kindness.

I want to use the normal "keyboard" for input instead the "touch keyboard".
If i select keyboard for input these settings are changed if i do a softreset.
How can i do this that "keyboard" is the defauft for input. Is there a registry hack?

u can find small cab (sipchange.cab) somewhere in development or universal thread(really dont remember) That'll do the trick.

On my device (O2 Orbit2 with German Rom) I have the following .lnk file in the austostart folder (Sipchange.exe ist in the folder Programme\SIPChange):
sipchange.lnk, that links to: "\Programme\SIPChange\sipchange.exe" SET

THat might be a prob with cab, because its probably hardcoded (\Windows\StartUp\) instead of proper name for "Startup" in Ur lang. (French, German....) Try to do it as Starwalker wrote

Word Completion
I've tried to use SIPchange, but I have this problem I can't solve. Word Completion is active even when it's not checked. After the reset I have the keyboard I want but it still does Word Completion (without the check in it).
I have:

I removed the checks on the options and checked those registry lines and they're set at "0", also tried to change the number of letter before word completion to 7 and 20, but after a couple characters it starts the word completion.
I also had some trouble with SMS sending. When I try do "Add Recipient", sometimes the PPC freezes on the contacts and I can't even select a contact to send the SMS.
Should I backup my stuff and reinstall the ROM? If so, can someone please point out an English ROM I can use without these bugs?

btw: just to clarify its not util made by me. It was smone else from here(at least i guess) who provided this tool. You may try to search for sipchange.cab and say thx to programmer. I only recalled this prob from arte(btw i use only adaptxt SIP and default m$hit - so no need 4 this app)
ok. phonealarm might be heavy on the machine. and the SIP change works only when phonealarm is run during boot. SIP change works for some people but might not work for others because the delay time varies. i checked it on a few devices and it worked on some and didn't work on others. also varies according to how many programs are run during boot cause it changes the loading time. i don't know if there's a reg option to control program boot order but if SIPswitch or Phonealarm don't "work" for you, you should use "sipchange" and assign the change to a hardware button so that you can change the SIP whenever you like. you can use HButton to assign many sips to the same hardware button.

Hi, guys.
I accidentally found another easy way to do this, without any need to add one more software to autostart. I use a Polaris HTC with rom 0.67 by bep (WM6.1). It had the same problem: everytime I soft reset, it reset the keyboard too. I installed TOPKEY, a freeware from pdamil (www.pdamil.com) and, now, everytime I soft reset, the phone resets the keyboard, but not to the touch keyboard, but to the default WM keyboard. I can't explain this, but that' just what happened, and that's just what I needed...
Hope someone benefits with this too...

I was quite happy seeing this german 6.1 ROM.
Installed it now and had some problems with the pencil setting - it was not possible using the pencil at all.
Using the buttons I made it happened to reach the Screen settings and changed the Allignment Setting - now everything's fine.
Now I'm testing your rom...
Edit: Quite nice and stable.
Just the program memory is a bit under newest ROMs by Noonski.
After disabling the cube and XPanel I got 20,4 MB free program memory, with Noonski I got 25,8 MB.
But: Noonski's ROM is Vanilla and specialised for better memory usage.

I would like to ask if your rom really works on a elfin, because all the other roms didn't, because of the different memory amount (64/128 <--> 128/256)

If you download the msi from the MS site then do a search in google on how to extract msi files with a command you can get the cabs out.
And with the cabs out of the MSI you can make OEM package from them

Jep, Piranha has done alot work on this one ( probably most of it ). I probably would not have started without him.
It was a painfull process of trial and error checking which mui's from WM6 can be used.

I made the same word mistake.
I then looked up all the posts where i made the mistake and changed CU into UC. Oeps .. I'm taking a few days of cooking I look like **** and need some sleep

i tried it several times now and it looks like it doesn't work at least for me. It always stucks after I flashed the two files and made the HR in the blank screen and nothing happens (even after waiting more than 20 minutes!)

I've tried this rom to my MPx200, and I found that this is the most stable WM6 rom for MPx.
Other roms have problems on the Pocket Outlook, and they need third party software to send SMS. This one doesn't need it. Altough I can't send SMS directly by pressing the left soft ke (send), I can use the option 'send' from the right soft key..

great rom.but i have a problem with the compact framework that i already had with wm5 proffessional rom.impossible to run nscontactbackup.the program will ask for a newer version of the framework.tryed to install the 2.0 one but it failed asking me to uninstall first the previous version.since this is automatically installed with the rom i dont know what to do.do anyone have an idea?

Is this correct? You guys managed to port WM6 to one of the FIRST WM Smartphones out there? I'm curious, how old a MPx200 device would be old now? Like 4 years or so? I'm wondering that the hardware is still working, this is quite a long lifetime for such a device. Sorry for offtop, but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the title of this thread.

Well, we are know for sure that since WM 6 until WM 6.1 for KAISER, the Landscape ClearType have a problem,.
on 30 July 2008, i figured out how to fix it,.
The problems are :
- By the default, ClearType COULDN'T BE ENABLED
- If we ENABLED it in WM 6.1, then we will have, MISSING TEXT
And now since i came here, i have done some research and development to make a better and a better KAISER,.
Now, please let me share one of my research, that i found,.

Okay, all the problem of ClearType in landscape came from the display driver of KAISER, its located in OEM folder,.
What was the problem maker then? It was DDI.dll
-----> DDI.dll is KAISER display driver, just like NVIDIA for WINDOWS,.
There are several way to FIX it, and here they are, the FIX :
a. Change the DDI.dll - (with the one i attached)
b. Change the whole OEMDrivers - (with the one i attached)
And all of them you could find it here :
a. DDI.dll
b. OEMDrivers

a. DDI.dll
----> It needs to be cooked, because its a standalone file,.
----> If you change the DDI.dll only, then you cook it, then for sure your device will be very slow,.

That DDI.dll will look for any other module, and you will see if you have done some reserach, the best result was also include modules in OEMDrivers, that came with previous built either,.
even the .rgu,.

Yes, that is what it means, but that is not the only reason to leave a stock rom for a cooked one.

Sounds like a WM6.0 DDI since anything before 3.28 is basically WM6.0. Has anybody tested compatibility with the KaiserGL drivers? The screenshot is also missing the complete dependencies list, which is very vital, such as disptools.dll.
That's the real test of whether it is a WM6.1 or WM6.0 DDI.

This is a WM6.0 based DDI. Switch back to it if landscape cleartype (which was already against ClearType specs since the RGB columns are rotated 90 degrees against how the anti-aliasing algorithm works) is more important to you than enabled ATI screen draws/rotates/3D drivers.
Cooks should be at least at the level of being able to tell. OSs are not Lego bricks you can mix-n-match.
Good sharing, I followed the dialog and come up whit this:
COREDLL.dll is xip
MMMAP.dll is xip
MMTimer.dll is shell
TrsTai_extension.dll is oemdrivers
wcr_rex.dll is xip
wce_tramp.dll is oemdrivers
wce_pmem.dll is oemdrivers
msm_time.dll is oemdrivers
That gives us:
TrsTai_extension.dll

Couldnt you make a repack of the oemdriver package then? Or is it really needed to have it all? I dont see how porvxml, shortcut, cpl, images, ect fit in here Just making it more cooking friendly whit only the needed files that you mean are vital for youre package Garmin
when you talk of performance loss, i dont think the average user would notice the 2ms loss seen by using the older drivers. i think the return of cleartype is a good thing since it does make somethings easier to read for some. again its personal preference at this point. the best would be to compair the 2 DDI.dll's and see if we can fix the newer one and enable cleartype with that one.

I think each one of u chefs is amazing I flash ur different roms all day and try different apps and its rather enjoyable. But this thread right here started as one man trying to share a common problem fix and he is self-less for sharing information that he could of kept to himself and should be thanked. Instead u guys start ego-trippin and this is no offense to anyone in particular... but to be quite frank sound like a bunch of b*tches. Now cheers to garmin for using his time to not only cook us some of the fastest most stable roms at his own expense but for sharing his knowledge with the rest of the community...

So, even it is of no use to me, I'm glad it is fixed.
Garmin published it first = Garmin takes credit.
Whoever found it out and have not published it before has no rights to claim the fame (and he/she was a selfish brat IMHO, unless there were other reasons involved), isn't it?
Thanks for whoever found or share the fix. Actually, I also did some research on this issue by replacing the ddi.dll (and some other dlls) a month ago w/ the official rom (just replacing the dll w/ Resco Explorer, not cook in), but it was not boot up after that. Maybe I missed something at that time.
