I want to remotely connect to my pc via terminal services client, but my pc listens on a non-default port. does anybody know how i can change the port to connect to from the client on my xda2i? unfortunately i can't change the listening port of my pc.
Thanks,
Allan
Found out how to do it!
Create a new DWORD registry key, in:
HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Terminal Server Client/Default
called
Server Port
and give it any value you need.
Hope it help someone else )

Hi,
using ActiveSync is a nice feature, but my desire to use windows is very small.
I'd like to ask if there's software available which enables me to sync my address book (at least) with Linux. Actually a "backup" to some formatted text file would be enough though I'd happily sync with some address book.
Thanks in adv.,

Thanks for your help, I'll try it tonight.
did u solve it? because I've still some problems
Nope, I didn't get it working yet. The synce application is running on my laptop, the XDA2 gets recognized via USB and i can connect the ppp-Connection but that's it - I don't get dccm working and pstatus always displays that strange "Unknown error" thing.
During the next days I want to try connecting via bluetooth...
I'm not able to use Synce with my Linux box, the way i found it's longer but works for all.
ppc contacts -> Bizorg -> csv2vcf -> Evolution
You find all you need here(in Italian).
PS: You have just edit the script with right fields and import it in yout client email
I am using the O2 Atom and would like to use the built in TS client to connect to some servers. Unfortunately, for security reasons, the TS port numbers are non standard.
How do I change the default TSC port numbers?
The servers use FIPS but I can lower this requirement if the WM5 client can't handle it.
Finally, currently Terminal services is allowed only through a VPN can I use VPN with the built-in client?
I've configured VPN for POP3 but don't seem to be able to get it to work with the TS client.
default port is 3389, if for example you connect to 192.168.1.1, in terminal server client you just add the ip address 192.168.1.1 and click connect, if the default port has changed to for example 7878, you would now type in the server address 192.168.1.1:7878

Thanks for the reply ... but I think it doesn't work like XP or any of the other Desktop Terminal Services Client.
If I type 10.1.1.1:1234 for example to connect to port 1234 on Terminal server 10.1.1.1 I will get a server not found error .... seems the Built-in Terminal services client doesn't understand the "ort" syntax.
This is infact the syntax I have been using from my XP but Can't use ip on the Atom.
Anyone done this before ?

Hi,
I've recently acquired a GPRS data plan for my Wizard.
Unfortunatly they transparantly proxy the connections to Imap port 143 and SMTP port 25!!! So all my emails go through there servers! (T-Mobile netherlands)
It is quite revolting to think they now want to know with who I email, and in theory also look at the contents of my emails!
Anyway, I was wondering whether I can't simply change the ports the wizard connects to (Imap and smtp (pref. through SSL ofcourse)) and make a port forward on my router to my internal mail server.
I'm hoping somone knows where (if) you make this change in the registry?
Thanks!!!
I found the following on this site:
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/corp-e-mail.htm
The ports can be changed in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\IMAP4 and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\POP3 respectively. The key name is Port and the value is the port to use in either hex or decimal. I do not know of a way to change the SMTP port based on my review of the registry.

So now, I only need to redirect my SMTP traffic somehow?
And the SMTP solution is here:
http://www.pocketpctweaks.com/pocketpc_tweaks/specify_outlook_smtp_port
Note do not try this with an existing account. You must create a new account in order for this to work. - Setup your email account and when you get to the Outgoing SMTP enter the server name as specified by your ISP. Proceed the server name with a colon and your desired port number. - Example: smtp.yahoomail.com:2500
Click to collapse
So I'm done! Thanks!
Hey Everyone,
My work recently did a change to how their WebOutlook server works and instead of going to "weboutlook.domain.com" we have to go to "weboutlook.domain.com/exchange/" . I tried changing my ActiveSync setup, on my T-Mobile Shadow, but the "/exchange/" keeps being deleted.
Is there a registry change that I can make to have "weboutlook.domain.com/exchange/" be the WebOutlook server that ActiveSync syncronizes with?
Thanks for any info any of you might have.
PS - If there is no way, has anyone experimented with doing a DNS forward from "domain2.com" to "weboutlook.domain.com/exchange/" to see if that works with ActiveSync DirectPush?
I need to run RDP on WM6 without a login prompt. Currently when you select to use remote desktop on WM6 it prompts for domain/userid/password to login.
Is there a registry hack, configuration, or maybe a command line type param to get around this?
Anyone, this is a show stopper for me!!!

You need to login first to access a computer. When you startup your computer it asks you to login right: username, password (may be blank), and domain (local - you don't write it).
Do you want to hack some PCs without knowing the username and password?
Shortly: You cannot get around this.
Sorry for poor explaination
I really don't mind if user id and pwd are required, I just would like to be able to pass it from command line or something so this can be more automatted, that was all.
Maybe you could create the .rdp file on your desktop and copy it over?
